The mod Supremax67 is advertising here doesn't do the same thing. I don't know why he'd link it here. His mods are basically a "marathon game with normal speed production" which just results in you running out of stuff to build, so all you can build is units (and that's also what the AI ends up doing. carpets of warriors)

The main reason I'd want a x1,5 science/culture mod is that I've usually cleaned out the tech tree by turn 300-350. That's too fast in a 500 turn game. This mod right here does that in the Ancient and Cliassical era, it stops doing that once you reach the Buttress tech. (probably because that's where the first big shift from a patch in the tech tree happens). This mod certainly does slow down the ancient and classical eras a bit.

I played a bit and there was no issue with era points on 1.5 X.

This looks interesting and I'll give it a try. Concerned that it might reduce the era points enough that it will be tough for everyone to get a golden age or even a normal age. The other routes to era points will be more valued (wonders, barbarians outpost kills, etc).

Thoughts/ experience on this issue?

Hey guys. What would be a good take your time mod to use if I plan to play a 1000 turn game with normal production? I'd like to spread out the eras so I hit atomic era round turn 700-800

I'm not shure, it works with R&F - I think the new eras are starting too early: I'm playing with R&F for the first time, epic speed, 5x research/civic time (like I always did before R&F) - I have researched 4 techs and 3 civics now (and I am the tech-leader) and the game tells me, the classical era will start in 9 turns?!

This mod, and all the other "Take your time" works with everything.
I have tested alot of mods after the expansion, and Take your time, is one of the mods that simply works with everything.

I use the 2x or 3x in my games. On Marathon. It makes the game playable every time. Each tech or civic matters since you dont get new every 10 turns :p. And you can have complete wars in one era, without waiting for the best tech before you attack something!

It should work without problem with R&F. It's just a simple one line piece of code that multiplies the research cost of tech by whatever version of Take Your Time you use.

I like playing on online speed, but with the 1.5 research/civic time, it hits that sweet spot of being able to produce things and use them before they need to be upgraded or are made obsolete

I don't know which flavor to choose. Which speed would make the game progress more or less like history (i.e. middle ages around 900, gunpowder around 1400, airplanes around 1915, nukes around 1945?)

Alright, perfect. That's exactly what I wanted for the TSL game I'm gonna do. You barely have enough time to get your units where they need to go before you can upgrade them otherwise

So essentially if I use this mod and the Civic x1.5 mod, then play on standard, techs and civics will take as long as they do in epic speed but everything else about the game will be the same as standard?
