This is such a good project that I feel like I should report bugs. I didn't like this first one because of a few things:
- No timer above the autoportals
- No lamp on the ceiling at the start
- Radio is missing its red/green light and its radio transmission goal as well
- No 'emergency exit' in case players throw the cube inside the door (dialogue should play)
- A few Z-Fighting issues like on the wall of the last door to the elevator
- The first button was kinda clipping through its floor surface
I'll play the other ones now. Thank you so much for doing this, I've found it on youtube, it's a shame that the whole epic escape sequence is really hard to do, but you did enough!

Couple of missaligned textures, weird lighting, definitely not using the P2 engine potential. The textures could use some variation. Auto-portals could really use some skins change in order to work like they do in P2 (Funcionality is helped by visuals, if the frame already has the color, it gives the impression that is bugged and, honestly... it looks bad.)

I guess it's only a remake, but her voice lines could've been timed better.

Also, as of this comment, there are 2011 ratings. Portal 2 was released in 2011. Portal 3 confirmed.

There will be 2012 ratings and one more positive rating in 3... 2... 1.

The map has been updated! The doors are now better cut out. Other bugs were also fixed. The title has been renamed to '' Portal 1 Remade '' because it's just a remade. The thumbnail has now been replaced with a real image. The following maps will also be updated in the near future.

I'm sorry, but I have to be honest, this feels incredibly rushed. A lot of missing or wrong assets, shoddy work with ambient_generics, weird/ unnecessary brush work, average lighting, etc. The thing that disappoints me the most, though, is the clickbait thumbnail you've used. I knew what this picture was from before I even started... It's a screenshot from a Portal 2 mod called Alive and Kicking . This is utterly deceptive to players who don't know about that mod, and completely misrepresents your map. I'm sorry if this has upset you, but I can't help but feel that perhaps youv'e been a little too ambitious with this. Patience is a virtue, my friend.

This button is clipping through the brush below. Now trying to make an indent in this by yourself would be pretty tricky. Luckily, Valve have provided ready to use instances of the button sockets with the Portal 2 authoring tools.
This is just a nitpick, but these are Portal 1 fizzlers. It would be more in line with Portal 2's art style to use the Portal 2 fizzlers, as well as using glass lights instead of recessed lights.

I hope you found this review usefull for your future mapping endeavours, and I look forward to playing the next map in this!

These doors have weird frames around them. You should try to make sure the inside of the frame can't be seen through the doors. An easy way to make the frames would be to take a 128*128 brush, place a door model in it, and use the clipping tool to create horizontal cuts, and then make a single cut down the middle. You can then use the vertex manipulation tool to pull the vertices to the edges of the door to make a smoother circle. You may also turn this into an instance vmf file for easier use later with func_instance.

None of the observation windows have distorted glass.[/url] There are models for use with prop_static under the folder props_lab that are used for observation windows in Portal 2. Alternative, there are instance maps for use with func_instance of entire observation rooms to use. It would also look nicer if you had an env_projectedtexture in the large observation window, but that's just a minor detail.

I found this while looking for new Portal 2 maps to play. Looks interesting. I'll review each part as I play through.
Now, judging from you workshop articles, I guess this is one of your first maps made using Hammer. It looks very good considering that actually. However, there are some beginner mistakes. Most of them are probably easy to fix, or at least easy to learn how to fix.
The countdown timer textures doesn't work properly.
