UPDATE: Brought this one back on (was not working due to glitch). Made some minor lighting edits, and fully covered the slots with glass.

carl.kenner's mod will break the item limit, so I'm looking forward to that.

Like your item count XD Mine is usually like 1.51427 ^^"

UPDATE: Based on what Geneosis said below, I've changed the pedestal button connection to "signage". This required me to sacrifice one of my observation rooms. It's no big deal, but it certainly demonstrates how close this is to the item limit.

Glad you liked it :) I would have left the connection visible for the pedestal button (getting rid of connection symbols erases the "timer" sound), it's just that I needed to save as many entities as possible. Cube droppers use a crazy amount of items (especially when you need nine of them).

Wow, the mechanism seems waaay better than before :p Tooks me a moment to think about pressing the button multiple time anyway X)

MAJOR UPDATE: Completely redesigned. The mechanism is now better and more random, one slot is activated at a time, no more stupid cubes "coin slot" crap, and only three slots.

Not really... Whatever, I guess I'll have to stick with that damn item limit for now. Thanks for trying to help, though :)

hmmm strange... I just downloaded the file, renamed the original "vbsp.exe" into "vbsp2.exe"and move the new "vbsp.exe" into the folder and that worked ^^" Any other error or warnig message you can see at the end of the log file?
N-Sunderland  [author] 7 Aug, 2012 @ 8:59am
It just says that I exceeded the entity limit... But in the developer console it just said "VBSP Failed" instead of the standard message...
N-Sunderland  [author] 7 Aug, 2012 @ 8:56am
Yeah, I think I found the right file.
N-Sunderland  [author] 7 Aug, 2012 @ 8:54am
Actually, would "preview" be a log file?
N-Sunderland  [author] 7 Aug, 2012 @ 8:53am
Still nothing!
Geneosis 7 Aug, 2012 @ 8:49am
Hmmm... Try to sort the files by "last modified" and there should be log files (openable with notepad) at the top...
N-Sunderland  [author] 7 Aug, 2012 @ 8:47am
Sorry for the late reply...

I can't find the .log file anywhere... Only VMF, BSP and PRT files.
Geneosis 6 Aug, 2012 @ 1:17pm
Hem, what said the .log file? You can find it in "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\portal 2\sdk_content\maps"
N-Sunderland  [author] 6 Aug, 2012 @ 12:58pm
I did that, still got an error... I know I'm not going too far over the limit, as the editor told me I was only at 1812 entities.
Geneosis 6 Aug, 2012 @ 12:14pm
Hem no, if you read the small text around the link to download the file, the guy said that you should rename the original vbsp.exe as "vbsp2.exe" or it may not work ^^
N-Sunderland  [author] 6 Aug, 2012 @ 12:12pm
When I install that, do I just put the VBSP file in the Portal 2 "bin" file and rename the original VBSP file? I keep on getting VBSP errors...
Geneosis 6 Aug, 2012 @ 11:36am
I use a little mod I found here ;)
N-Sunderland  [author] 6 Aug, 2012 @ 11:33am
I've thought about adding things like that... Problem is, I'm right on the edge of the item limit. What method do you use to bypass it?
Geneosis 6 Aug, 2012 @ 4:43am
Well maybe open the exit when you get 3 of the same type and open a "bonus room" with some cool stuff if you get 4 ^^
N-Sunderland  [author] 5 Aug, 2012 @ 2:55pm
Well, the point is that the cubes are money, and if you run out of money, you lose. It's gambling, and it would be pointless if there wasn't a way to make you lose. You can just restart the level, so it's not that important :)
Geneosis 5 Aug, 2012 @ 2:18pm
Well so if you're not lucky, you're trapped forever -_- That's not really cool ^^" I suggest adding a way to wash the cubes...
Anyway the mechanism behind it is nice :p
