Hey thanks for using the class, hope it is serving you well.

It's been awhile since I tested the class but the shotgun worked as it should have back then though it was meant to be somewhat inaccurate. 6 from 6 would be exceedingly bad luck though so I'd probably suggest heading into the xcomclassdata in file and subbing in 'Point Blank' from the LW2 Ranger as a fix as I won't be updating this due to the mod not compiling on the WotC modbuddy which I have installed these days.

Hello Love the class and mod, but I was wondering if anyone else has reported the sawed off shotgun being bugged? I have missed 6/6 shots with it while within the cone. I noticed in some of the comments, this was talked about. Could you provide some light on it?

Is this just bad luck, or am I missing something?

Also on behalf of the community thank you for your hard work.

The Jackal-class is awesome as fårk! But the Fleche-skill doesnt work. It misses every.single.time.

Did the class inherit this skill from another mod I installed? Or is there a way i can tweak it in the ini.files so it's not just a beefy ranger?

This class will not work in WotC as it requires LW2.

i downloaded lots of mods and when i tried launching it kept saying the same crash msg and then i tried removing the mods i thought wer the cause,when i finally have the remaining mods i used bfore the lots of mods downloaded it stil giving the same bullcrap only by deselecting all the wotc mods was i able 2 launch the game,i xit selected my usual mods and it gave me the same shit so i finally decided 2 uninstal and then installing it again if this doesnt work goodbye wotc 4 the rest of my life!

I have LW2 installed, but I don't have these weapons. This is very strange. I will go through the LW2 options and Perk options to see if I have something turned off....

Both SMG and shotgun are from LW2, which is flagged as a requirement. That sawed off shotgun - standalone mod you mentioned is completely unrelated to this mod.

Ok. I installed the "sawed off shotgun - standalone", and "longwar SMG pack" mods. On promotion from rookie, the Jackal is equipped with an SMG, but no secondary. I see the shotgun in the secondary list, but the Jackal cannot equip it. Additionally, the Jackal's special shotgun-only power is missing its icon (I get a rainbow "img:" icon, instead). @James, any ideas as to what is going on here? Thanks.

This class sounds fun, but apparently it requires (at least) an ADDITIONAL mod, "sawed off shotgun". Another comment mentions SMG is needed. @James, can you please link to (or add requirements for) the specific mods you designed this around? I found only 1 sawed off shotgun (and will try it in a moment), but there seem to be plenty of SMG mods out there. Thanks.

Yes it requires LW2, because this weapon comes from LW2. That is why LW2 is listed as required and this mod will not work without it.

for some reason when I play this I don't get the doublebarrel shotgun. unless it requires longwar to be active

Unfortunately not, the Jackal is built around the use of the SMG and the Sawed Off Shotgun both of which are part of LW2 and I wouldn't want to change that.

Crowd control isn't a 100% accuracy shot. It should be reasonably accurate at extremely close range but it basically has the same accuracy as Point Blank or Both Barrels from LW2.

I am working on an adjustment that will increase the accuracy but I'm also working on another larger scale project involving the jackal so I may wait until that's released.

Sometimes when I use Crowd Control it just misses, for no reason, even at point blank range, is it just a bug, or an intended feature?

if I change the places of point blank and crowd control, point blank becomes usable but crowd control disappears...
I share your opinion about the class and I don't really plan on using point blank that much. I just wanted a way to see the hit chances before using crowd control and adding point blank seemed the easiest way ^^

@BlackDragon sorry but LW2 is a hard requirement, amongst other things it requires the Sawed-Off shotgun that doesn't feature in the Perkpack.

@Cialoh I'm not intending to add Point Blank as I want the Jackal's secondary weapon to feel different to that of the Ranger. Adding both should work, do you have your commas in the right places at the end of each abilities line? If you post what you've got in the initial for squaddie rank I can have a look.

Thx for the class but is it possible to add PointBlank to squaddie lvl abilities too? It would be good to use it for easy targeting single enemies and seeing the "real" hit chances for the atk ^^ I can replace the TF_CrowdControl with it but for some reason, when I try to add both abilities one of them stays hidden in the game...

2 points of mobility is a pretty hefty penalty and seriously reduces their usefulness as flanking troops. I'd reduce the armour bonus to one point instead and maybe include blast padding or some other perk with an armor bonus further down the tree.

@Sunn brO))) Thanks again for the feedback, definitely something I will look at. Does anyone use Heavy Infantry? I've been using it on my own campaign and I'm not sure the mobility penalty is large enough to balance the two points of armour, thinking of upping it to -2 or -3 but don't want to limit it more unless others share this opinion as the Jackal is supposed to be mobile.

I have tried crowd control about 4-5 times and I've missed it every time. I use perfect information and it says I've missed with 100% to hit several times.

I'm just building them as heavy front-line flankers now, but the shotgun build seems promising. Hope it gets ironed out.

@Ikrani I will have a look, I know crowd control is very unreliable unless at extremely close range. It's part of the reason I added in the Ruthless perk. I think it's to do with the accuracy of the sawed-off itself so I may have to build in an accuracy bonus to crowd control to make it more useful. Thanks for the feedback, great stuff.

Question: why does Crowd Control have an invisible aim stat? I've fired it about 4 times since I trained a Jackal and literally each time, even when there's been absolutely nothing to block the shot (flanking, unobstructed path), it's missed. It's especially frustrating because never once was there mention of an aiming percentile, not even on the prep menu for firing the shot.

If it's an issue with balancing, just dock some of the damage, says I. Or don't, because unlike other AoE attacks of the same nature, like the Flamethrower, Crowd Control doesn't appear to destroy cover or incapacitate enemies. So some extra damage would make it worth while.

@Trevish I don't think that's possible due to the game considering the SMG as a form of assault rifle due to how it's been added by the LW2 team.
