WOTC when?
Varric 2 Jan @ 1:46pm
But speaking of mods using Highlander over APN, there's one by Lago called Part Names for Vanilla Armors . It "adds descriptive names to all the vanilla parts in the game" via a localization file that takes advantage of the Highlander feature. A file which you can edit yourself, should you desire to change the names Lago's mod uses!
Varric 2 Jan @ 1:43pm
For anyone with questions, like the ones below, about the Highlander change: you don't have to do anything to enable the feature. You simply sub to the Community Highlander. The link provided by robojumper in the description is really for modders and others who wish to create a localization file that utilizes the Highlander feature. But for the rest of us? Us users don't have to do anything at all, except sub to the Community Highlander. That's it.

Note though that mods with localization files made for Add Part Names will still need this mod. Obviously lol. But with Highlander, using the method in the link in the description, one can create a localization file that doesn't depend on APN.

@[HAPS] STRlCE
I have the same question.
Dragon32 18 Aug, 2023 @ 11:28am
@STRICE
I still use this mod. I added my own display names for vanilla items, see the Discussion, and haven't migrated those to the Highlander. I don't believe the Highlander will automagically come up with names for things.
[FT] STRlCE - I use MnK 17 Aug, 2023 @ 5:55pm
So... is that Highlander feature PART of the highlander mod per se, or does it require a specific download?

So, if you have the latest highlander version, do you have to do anything at all?
SpartanH347 [FR] 6 May, 2023 @ 7:24pm
same
Totally Not Ed 17 Dec, 2022 @ 12:43am
Will use this because I have no f'ing clue how to do Highlander
Dragon32 22 Mar, 2022 @ 7:48am
@SSOutPhase
Did you add any localisation? See the Discussion.

THIS MOD DOES NOTHING ON ITS OWN!
SSOutPhase 21 Mar, 2022 @ 6:50pm
Don't think this works with LW2. Using AML and still showing as torso 1, 2, 3, etc.
mandlf7 9 Aug, 2021 @ 7:27pm
Is this mod required / relevant following the LWOTC Beta 4.1 and WOTC Highlander release?
Ivan Teurer 2 Aug, 2021 @ 1:31pm
compatible with lw2?
Instant Caulk 3 Nov, 2020 @ 8:34pm
@Dragon32 thank you for linking a mod launcher that actually works!
Dragon32 13 Aug, 2020 @ 9:26am
@Sailor Pothead
See my 10th July comment.
Sailor Pothead 13 Aug, 2020 @ 6:41am
As of the new launcher this no longer activates for WOTC

Ok thanks robo!
robojumper  [author] 26 Jul, 2020 @ 7:41am
@=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil
No, I'm saying that mod authors should, instead of adding support for this mod, add support for the Highlander.
=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil 25 Jul, 2020 @ 5:20pm
@Robo, so are you saying we don't need this is we have the highlander??
robojumper  [author] 25 Jul, 2020 @ 12:58pm
PSA: If your customization mod has support for Add Part Names, please consider migrating to the Highlander's supported way of localizing Torsos, Arms, and Legs. See https://x2communitycore.github.io/X2WOTCCommunityHighlander/misc/BodyPartTemplateNames/ for documentation on that feature.

The Highlander way is more compatible with Unrestricted Customization and is much more resilient against rogue mods ruining the arrays,

@Vicman; HeitorDragon1
As has been said multiple times in this thread: it works fine in both the base game and WotC.

If you're using 2K's launcher then swap to one that works: https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/xcom2-launcher/wiki/Installation
DAAAANTEEEEEH 10 Jul, 2020 @ 11:20am
WOTC version?
Vicman 16 Jun, 2020 @ 7:38am
How can i make it work on WOTC? i can't find the link
Pandora's box 25 May, 2020 @ 7:31pm
guyz, this should work with wotc even if it says incomp. when i first downloaded this, worked perfectly for my clones vs empire playthrough. not sure if it has issues with other mods than the ones i use in my collection though.
Flex 23 May, 2020 @ 8:32am
this Mod dosnt work with wotc at my pc
Skarsnik 21 May, 2020 @ 6:37am
is there a wotc version or do I run it anyways?
Dragon32 9 May, 2020 @ 2:09am
@LimpWeiner
Dunno what you mean by "its showing incompatibility", how can a mod do that?

Have a read of those mod troubleshooting links I posted in May last year.
LimpWeiner 8 May, 2020 @ 5:23pm
I had it working the first time around, but now its showing incompatibility for both base game and wotc
Dragon32 3 May, 2020 @ 4:27am
@Abe tha supá gangstá
It works fine in both the base game and WotC.

Mod was made with the base game's SDK so is missing the little bit of text the Firaxis launcher looks for.
Abe tha supá gangstá 3 May, 2020 @ 4:06am
In the Firaxis launcher it says that the mod is not compatible. Is something conflicting with it or is it something else?
Online Addict 30 Apr, 2020 @ 9:59pm
If, by 3rd Party Launcher, you're referring to the AML (Alternate Mod Launcher) then I can attest that this mod works fine. Been using it for ages. And you're right, just simply to keep them organized, it's best to use the AML over the standard launcher, but it does also help in situations such as load order and mod conflicts.
Dr. Quackers M.D. 30 Apr, 2020 @ 9:19pm
Does not work with 3rd party launcher any armors that require this only show up when resistance warrior armor is equipped.
3rd party launchers are a must when running more then 10 Xcom2 mods as the game is deathly slow with out

Donut 22 Feb, 2020 @ 5:25pm
yeah was curious too if this worked with WOTC
WonkyGuy21 13 Jan, 2020 @ 5:37pm
does it work with WOTC?
Tommy Wiseau 7 Jan, 2020 @ 2:11am
I already installed this mod but somehow it's not listed in the 3rd party launcher, how to solve this?
Dragon32 14 Oct, 2019 @ 9:17am
@Sir.Will
It works fine, have a read of the links I posted in May. Have those armours had names defined?
SirWill 14 Oct, 2019 @ 4:59am
Has this mod stopped working? I can't get it to work with the warhammer armours
Dragon32 12 Aug, 2019 @ 9:46am
@GVOZD
Yes it does, have a read of the links I posted in May.
GVOZD 12 Aug, 2019 @ 6:56am
doesn't work in WOTC
Dragon32 16 Jul, 2019 @ 8:09am
@IB-[7thWI] Pvt. Robert Owens
This works fine for me in WotC, have a read of the links I posted in May.
Robert Owens 15 Jul, 2019 @ 7:39pm
I was using this with a star wars Wotc mod but now it wont show up under the Wotc mod list. Is there a Wotc version?
Empi3 1 Jun, 2019 @ 5:29pm
I see a lot of mods have the Localization\XComGame.int file but the game doesn't use it apparently. So why do you need a new file with a different format if you could just use this one instead?
Resolve. 15 Feb, 2019 @ 11:04am
I just randomly came across this mod, mainly noticing my name at the top of the screenshot lol.
Dragon32 17 Jan, 2019 @ 1:57pm
@Nebula:
This works fine for me in WotC, have a read of the links I posted in May.
Nebula 17 Jan, 2019 @ 1:48pm

r0bert 12 Sep, 2018 @ 11:28am
I can't seem to find the default arms and legs for the Templar, Skirmisher, and Reaper faction characters. Anyone else have that problem?
Dragon32 7 May, 2018 @ 4:06pm
Gatito el Rey 7 May, 2018 @ 3:49pm
For some reason isnt working for me, most items shows as Torso ### and Arm ###, it was working fine until one day i closed the game and the next i reopened to play. Already refreshed the mod in the launcher and un-subed and subed.
Dragon32 27 Mar, 2018 @ 9:40am
@Mad_Daxx:
Edit this mod's .XComMod file and add:
RequiresXPACK=true

Or just get the Alternate Launcher, it's loads better: Community Mod Launcher [github.com]
Cleb 27 Mar, 2018 @ 9:25am
Is there a way I could do it myself?
