Oh, okay. And I looked up the original crossbow stuff from Dawnguard and there's only the enhanced varients
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 7 Sep, 2015 @ 5:47pm
@Gabe Puratekuta I added no new recipes whatsoever. Ergo, there are no crossbows or bolts above Dwarven. I'm not badass enough to create new models and whatnot for higher tier stuff.
Gabe Puratekuta 7 Sep, 2015 @ 11:48am
I wasn't talking about ammo. I meant crossbows
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 7 Sep, 2015 @ 11:44am
@Gabe Puratekuta No new bolt recipes were added. I merely made them craftable at any and every forge instead of just the ones owned by the Dawnguard faction.
Gabe Puratekuta 5 Sep, 2015 @ 1:05pm
So you can't make any stronger than drarven? Or are those recipes part of the Dawnguard quests?
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 14 Apr, 2015 @ 9:17pm
@TheTurdinator nothing currently. I'm having trouble coming up with ideas that haven't been already realized a thousand times over. If I could figure out how the meters in the HUD work as well as how the Beast Form timer operates, I'd like to make a HUD mod that adds a Beast Form meter so you can visually tell how much time you have left before Beast Form ends. Tricky business.

Also, Great mod overall. It's great being able to craft crossbow at any forge. What are you planning on doing next?
ryxn 14 Apr, 2015 @ 9:05pm
I found it already, but thanks for the help anyway @RaegalTBoggart
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 14 Apr, 2015 @ 9:00pm
@TheTurdinator Hit the "Subscribe" button and the mod will download next time you launch Skyrim
ryxn 10 Apr, 2015 @ 9:37pm
Where is the download link?
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 19 Oct, 2014 @ 10:34am
@ethan Have you perhaps tried hitting the shiny sparkly DLC button under Library > Skyrim? I'm referring to the Steam Client and not the website, mind you.

You'll find it there among the other DLC packs.

Also, it pays to use the client versus the website.
es0n 17 Oct, 2014 @ 9:52pm
Ok how do you get dawnguard you need it for everything and you cant get it on this website!
Junlohkron 18 Sep, 2014 @ 2:44pm
@saintdevin
_, _,
O.O
It says Dawnguard DLC required at the top...
Saint 17 Sep, 2014 @ 9:42pm

jaderivers 9 Sep, 2014 @ 10:49pm

Thank you. *fires a flaming steel bolt into a draugr*
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 23 May, 2014 @ 5:06pm
@Captain Kraken so long as you include a link to this page in your description, I see no harm in that.
Captain Kraken 15 May, 2014 @ 8:10am
@RaegalTBoggart, can I use your crossbow mod for my mod collection?
edbowlegs 8 May, 2014 @ 8:25pm
I had a character make one and use it. It is a nice ambushe tool. I also used it to get a dragon's attention and bother it severly. A nice piece of work.
Your Wife's Boyfriend 24 Mar, 2014 @ 10:58am
wait, at the end it says special crossbows now require the player to aid the dawnguard to craft them. is it the same with nnormal crossbows???
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 11 Mar, 2014 @ 2:40pm
@sanders010 Because reasons. Read the myriad comments below on this exact subject.
sanders010 8 Mar, 2014 @ 8:26am
why does everything require dawnguard
cαρтαιn σρραι 19 Feb, 2014 @ 4:32pm
@cloud2234
Nope. Because the crossbows require Dawnguard's crossbow reload animation.
tmwilson106 14 Sep, 2013 @ 12:34pm
can someone do one for the skyrim player pls?
gnomopillato 13 Aug, 2013 @ 3:14am
great mod
Drunk Reefer 13 Aug, 2013 @ 12:11am
dont be cheap buy the dlc its worth it
cloud2243 12 Aug, 2013 @ 10:57pm
Dear creater of this mod i dont have Dawnguard but is there any way of making this mod for me to use in skyrim without Dawnguard.
BaalFridge 16 May, 2013 @ 1:44pm
this is a great mod and I think you respect the game by locking the special crossbows and bolts, and I always foud weird that I couldn't forge bolts anywhere else that at the dawnguard forge.
thanks your mod is perfect
killmeebaby 7 Feb, 2013 @ 1:59am
If your looking to bypass the faction restriction my mod does that. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/21659
Nothing wrong with keeping it lore friendly like Reagal's version.
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 24 Jan, 2013 @ 4:43pm
@Doobs aside from the fact that you can craft the base crossbows (both Steel AND Dwarven) at any forge, thus mitigating the need to be at a Dawnguard owned forge.

Sure, you can use mods to cheat and get around limitations placed by the developers, but you can also use them to -enhance- the game, or to fix loathesome issues. I prefer the latter approach. Better to give Vampires something, rather than to completely remove the entire point of the Dawnguard questline. That's just bad design. Vampires get the Vampire Lord power, Dawnguard gets the special bows and bolts.

If you want both of them, use console commands, or make the mod yourself. There are many tutorials out there to help you with that, but don't ask me to do it because it robs the player of actually having to make a choice allthewhile eliminating the entire point of the Dawnguard questline.
Doobs 24 Jan, 2013 @ 4:19pm
The point of mods is to give you the freedom to do what you want with the game.

The first line of your description is "Sick and tired of the Dawnguard having all the fun with Skyrim's new Crossbows? Lament no further! "

I'm still lamenting because it's still only the Dawnguard having fun with the Crossbows...
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 24 Jan, 2013 @ 12:49pm
@kingdom defenders and @Doobs, Then what's the point of joining Dawnguard? If I allow that, there's absolutely no reason to join the Dawnguard whatsoever. No benefits. No point. There must be some level of balance when you make mods. If you disrupt the balance, you divert the flow of gameplay in one specific direction because all of the other options yield no reward, and are thus ignored.

TL;DR, I can't do that. It'll render the Dawnguard questline completely useless, thus breaking the game.
Trap 23 Jan, 2013 @ 8:32pm
As Doobs said, make it so that if you choose the vampire side you can craft the dawnguard stuff. That's the reason i wanted to download this mod
Doobs 23 Jan, 2013 @ 3:38pm
Almost installed this until I read that v0.3. I wanted to use a crossbow on my guy but I chose the Vampire quest line. Now, even with your mod, I still can't use all of the crossbow features.

If this changes and I am allowed to use all crossbows and bolts on my vampire, I will install it.
Torq 13 Jan, 2013 @ 12:48am
penoir
KHRO 100 HCHA 7 Jan, 2013 @ 9:43am
Man, you should do more craftable bolts, like Daedric, Ebony, some stuff more powerful... and BTW, keep up with the awesome job! ;)
oriphur 5 Jan, 2013 @ 12:48pm
ok thanks for considering my question. Take your time on it and no rush.
Jacklewalkies 5 Jan, 2013 @ 7:08am
vendor invrntories are easy but i cant really explain it in words
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 4 Jan, 2013 @ 11:32pm
@The spyware on your computer: No. You are spyware on my computer. Request denied.

I kid, I kid. I'll certainly think about it. I think it'd be logical to assume Blacksmiths and weapons vendors would carry such things, although I'll probably restrict it to just steel crossbows, as dwarven stuff is generally harder to come by fiction-wise. I'll have to research how vendor inventories work and see what I can come up with :3
oriphur 4 Jan, 2013 @ 6:52pm
can you please add the crossbows to shops as well?
Jacklewalkies 4 Jan, 2013 @ 5:15pm
im with you man
Metal the lemon 2 Jan, 2013 @ 7:58am
okay thx dude ^^!!
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 1 Jan, 2013 @ 10:27pm
@metal the lemon Yes, save for the fancy ones you can only learn to make by working with the Dawnguard. (i.e. the ones that are semi-enchanted)
Metal the lemon 1 Jan, 2013 @ 4:45pm
so i can get them same Crossbows as the Dawnguard if i am playing a vampire rigth?
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 30 Dec, 2012 @ 8:18pm
@Snekadid Oh boy, that'd do it. :P You're very welcome! Hopefully I'll have something new for you all to play with before too long, what with Dragonborn coming out on PC soon.
Snekadid 30 Dec, 2012 @ 2:34pm
Thank you so much for the quick response. You were right, I had dawnguard installed but for some reason it was not checked off under data and so it wasn't loading at all and that caused the crash when your mod<and others> checked for the dawnguard.esm.
Now I'm making a corssbow and hunting people, the way the world was meant to be. Again, Thank you so much for the great mod and the help.
RaegalTBoggart  [author] 30 Dec, 2012 @ 2:11pm
@Snekadid That's odd. All my mod really does is add a few entries to the master recipe list, so I don't think that's the cause of the crash. Hell, accessing the start menu shouldn't even have anything to do with said lists, so I'm really not sure where the crash is coming from unless Dawnguard.esm/bsa didn't install properly or something. The best advice I can give is to reinstall and see if that cleans the esm/bsa files so they don't conflict with mods.
