The thing people forget is that old guns were dripping with gun oil. There was no such thing as a stainless or rust-resistant alloy, and as such they needed to be constantly covered in oil to prevent rust. bluing was used to prevent this, mainly because it makes the metal porous and allows the oil to soak deeply in. Well-kept antique guns are usually a bright, shiny blue, as the oil on the surface is kept fresh, well polished, and not allowed to dry--if the oil does dry up, the gun takes on a matte black hue. Modern bluing, the kind that gives you a dark, glossy black, is mostly chemical in derivative as opposed to controlled rust-bluing used long ago.

How does it glitch out? if you mean it takes on a bright white/blue color, that's how real bluing behaves in outside, non-artifical light.

Yes, it would be quite easy to get less or no shine with it, but the reason it's shiny is because it's a satin blue, and presumably well-kept grips and gilding--all very shiny. However it's literally like a 2 minute fix, so if you want the help I wouldnt be averse to it.

Is it possible to get less shine or no shine with this?
