I tried this mod out and I appeared with no starting settler as Kupe, all I had was a builder floating in the ocean.

Does this mod remove their city-razing ability? Because that is the WORST and most broken part about them

works fine for me (although I haven't tried it with "Barbarian Clans" mode.) easy to edit to set your own parameters. Nice that it tells the default setting.

Game crashes consistently with this mod and no others, as others have reported. (CTD on AI turn).

It may be that it works, but a mod you already have is not compatible with it.
You know I play with 82 mods including this one and get not problem.

"Barbs are what make the game more realistic? Really Right on Logic? What's realistic about barbarian (tribal people) having a 2-3000 year advantage in military technology? Or being able to spawn said advanced units at a rate that a player can't even build wooden-club wielding warriors? That's what being overrun with quadriremes, horsemen and horsearchers on turn 20 (standard speed) is? Realistic? Certainly isn't fun.

@Titule just tested the mod and it is working properly. Start a game game with the mod enabled, play a few turns and use the reveal all command. Use the search and search for barbarian outposts. You will see that there will be less than or equal to 2 outposts per civilization ! For example if there are 6 civs in the game there will be less than 12 barbarian outposts !

@rightonlogic it is just how you like to play the game. Someone likes it with raging barbarians, someone else with fewer barbs or no barbs, etc. Another one might like a small map with 12 civs or a huge map with 4 civs. This mod just adds another option to play the game with less barbs than the devs designed it.

why dont you just play on chieftan difficulty? barbarians are what make the game more realistic.

I don't notice any effect in GS with this mod. Barbarian camps spawn literally every round (on giant map and marathon)

I wish I could mod so I could remove barb camps ability to spam death robots late game. It's a ridiculous pain and isn't realistic.

Thank you @Stylianos, I was very happy to use it b4 R&F and will be happy to continue. Would it be possible to alter this mod or make a new 1 that could stop the Barbarians respawning from the same spot. I don't remember whether the game does this automatically or not. Thanks again.

Now if you want to change the number of barbarians in my mod this is how you do it:
- Go to this directory
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\289070\881084587
- Edit the 'NerfedBarbarians.sql' file with a text editor
The code is very simple and you will be able to make the changes you wish. For example:
(part of the code)
-- 2 barb camps per Major Civilization instead of 3
UPDATE GlobalParameters SET Value = 2 WHERE Name = 'BARBARIAN_CAMP_MAX_PER_MAJOR_CIV';

If you want the same number of barbs like in vanilla change the "SET Value = 2" to "SET Value = 3", if you want more barbs than vanilla "SET Value = 4" or even 5 (and may the force be with you :steamhappy:).

Do the cahnges you want and save the file.

Be carefull if you are playing multiplayer with the mod and you have change the file the game will crush.

The mod is compatible with the February 2018 patch and with the Rise & Fall expansion. However in R&F the barbs are quite nerfed so using this mod might be too much !!

This mod is fully compatible with the summer 2017 patch (it only alters some global parameters and a type parameter of the game). Have fun !!!!

can you also make it so they cant build units unless 1/2 of all players have the tech that allows them to build said unit? im sick of being overrun by swordsmen on turn 40 or less...
