TS [~MLS~] CelticFrag 30 Dec, 2013 @ 3:31pm
How about 20 crossbow bolts=one ingot?
TS [~MLS~] CelticFrag 30 Dec, 2013 @ 3:30pm
@Mystic, there is a mod for that-Smelting Increases Smithing. @Punisher You use metal to make scaled so shouldn't you be able to at LEAST get the metal back?
PR PUNISHER 10 Dec, 2013 @ 6:28am
MLS im going to answer your question about melting down leather and scalled armor.... How the hell do you smelt leather, think about it...makes no sense For the author of the mod, it would be nice to be able to break down leather and leather goods at the tanning rack, so please make it so......

thanks

Does smelting the items down grant experience points in smithing? I'm looking to switch smithing mods, and the one I'm using grants skill advancement for both smelting and tanning (but makes creating arrows a chore, which is why I'm looking for a different mod).
Rosenkreuz Kontrol 28 Aug, 2013 @ 3:35am
Would it be possible to get a submod that was just for retrieving gemstones from jewelry? The mod is great, but it's just so much scrolling for the handful of options.
Serious Business 24 Jul, 2013 @ 5:09am
The ability to melt down Silver platters, cutlery, iron pots and other iron trash items would be nice
TS [~MLS~] CelticFrag 17 Jul, 2013 @ 2:52pm
Oh, and how about a mod that lets you break down leather and scaled armor?
TS [~MLS~] CelticFrag 17 Jul, 2013 @ 2:52pm
Can you do an update for the Dragonbone weapons in Dawnguard please! I use this mod ALL the time!
Lenny 12 Jun, 2013 @ 1:08pm
Could just be a glitch, but I wasn't able to melt down a shitload of glass armor that I picked up.
Lenny 12 Jun, 2013 @ 1:07pm
Yeah....how about making Glass items meltdownable?
Fyst 21 Mar, 2013 @ 8:50am
Great mod. Just what I was looking for!
Aenonn 12 Jan, 2013 @ 6:55pm
I am seein g corundum and iron making a Steel ingot - and not the normal carbon (charcol) and iron... that is missing.
Carbon Steel , missing?
Adara Firecaster 6 Jan, 2013 @ 2:47pm
I would suggest grouping the smelting recipies by material, much like the forge, to reduce the wear on our poor mouse wheels.
Parun 22 Dec, 2012 @ 12:17am
rifldad... thats just stupid, think about it. people can smelt already created armor back to ingots. but how would you make ore? pour it over a stone and work it inside?
rifldad 10 Dec, 2012 @ 2:01pm
Is there a way to change ingots back into ore?
soldyne 11 Oct, 2012 @ 11:08am
thanks for this mod. I have been using it for about 20 hours in a new game and I find myself picking up obsolete weapons and armor just so I can melt them down for crafting and upgrades later. It seems that your next set of upgrades will cover all of my ideas (streamlined UI and Leather recovery were my top two)
Daughter of Slaanesh 25 Sep, 2012 @ 10:20pm
you should make it so you can melt down falmer armor and weapons to get back chaurus chitin
RealProVokeR  [author] 9 Sep, 2012 @ 7:22am
Sorry for a long period of inactivity, my computer's hard disks had to be formatted, and I only just got Skyrim downloaded again. I am working on the next update, which will hopefully include:
Bug fixes
Even more smelting options
Breakdown of leather armor into leather and leather strips at the tanning rack
Streamlined UI (if you don't have the materials it won't show up)
And hopefully tons more!
I will also mae a video showing this mod in action and post it, so that you wonderful people can see what the mod is like before subscribing!
And when I get Dawnguard, I will also make a Dawnguard version of the mod with the associated content from the expansion available for smelting too.
Thank you all for your support!
BMTbrack 8 Aug, 2012 @ 7:15pm
you should make it so you can break apart leather and hide armor to make leather at a tanning rack
samanoskay 3 Aug, 2012 @ 10:01am
thanks for the fast response :)
RealProVokeR  [author] 3 Aug, 2012 @ 9:46am
@samanoskay
Thank you for bringing that bug to my attention, in the next update it will be fixed
samanoskay 3 Aug, 2012 @ 9:25am

taco 27 Jul, 2012 @ 8:35am
maby add rings and necklaces and pots and junk?
Louwn 22 Jul, 2012 @ 12:40pm
nice bro!
Xeridium 6 May, 2012 @ 12:32am
Love the mod, really helps out with smithing after the patch 1.5 nerf. I agree with Jearra though, the UI is in need of streamlining. Would be good if a recepie was only shown if you have one of the required materals. Might also help if the items were seperated by type like at the forge and not all under the "Misc" category.
Kyle O'Callaghan 2 May, 2012 @ 8:48am
I was thinking you could melt down Jewlery for ingots aswell.
LIBERTY PRIME 21 Apr, 2012 @ 5:52pm
Is this compatible with the 1 te's Smithing Extended mod?
Gear73 17 Mar, 2012 @ 3:06pm
Could it be possible for you to improve the sorting system for smelting/smithing? I would like a similar setup to how the tanning rack is, where it does not display unless you have the required material. Otherwise, its fairly good.
ronr42 10 Mar, 2012 @ 4:08pm
OH YA, i forgot. gave you a huge thumbs up. also the original reason i subbed to this mod was to get the daedra hearts. once again you can't buy or loot enough of them for all the new crafting mods. * theres another mod now that lets you buy daedric armor at warmaidens. i've useually got about 300,000 gold. so buy the cheaper armor pieces, melt them down, recover the daedra heart [or ebony] and use it to craft new items. YOU GOT TO LOVE THIS MOD and how the different mods work so well together.
ronr42 10 Mar, 2012 @ 3:55pm
@THE NINJA; excellent mod. i can't believe how much i'm using it. with all the new crafting mods out there, this mod is a must have. you just can't always find the quantity of some ingots [gold for instance] that you need for all the new crafting mods. speaking of gold ingots; is there any chance you can update the mod to melt down septems into gold ingots? theres a mod that does that. but if you could please add septem smelting to yours, there is no need for the other mod.
SuperD 7 Mar, 2012 @ 1:59am
yessss
Eisenfell 21 Feb, 2012 @ 4:01am
Since blacksmithing was Exploitable from the beginning...(10k gold and a little running around and buying iron like mad was enoth) does this Mod no real harm to the game expiriance...but saves alot of time crawling around and checking every last vendor for a missing ingot or deadra heart...
*thumps up*
Griphammer 20 Feb, 2012 @ 6:04pm
Here's an even better exploit with this one: Take a gold ingot to the forge and create two gold rings. Take the rings back to the smelter and each ring will produce a gold ingot. Keep going back and forth and your gold ingots will double each time. 2,4,8,16, 32, 64, you get the picture. In addition you can max out your smithing skills pretty quickly.
Shorlas.ttv 19 Feb, 2012 @ 12:12am
I suppose I can go around and empty a few hundred chests around the world now that have more gear stowed in them than would fit in a whole wagon cart. Great way to reduce item count in the game as a whole too.
trash wizard 18 Feb, 2012 @ 8:08am
@Lu1zUm4d? Well, you need just one iron ingot, but you also need an awful lot of leather stripes to get to level 100 smithing with iron daggers ;-)
Sonny228 16 Feb, 2012 @ 8:16pm
P.S. Also makes no sense that I can get a heart back from smelting.
Sonny228 16 Feb, 2012 @ 8:15pm
I was playing it and it made leeling smithing way too easy, the fact a dagger smaller than a ingot can make one makes no sense, put in a requirement of three 2-3 daggers for an ingot and balance the rest to give somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of what you need to make them. Will favourite and check for updates but, unsubscribed for now.
zeemo 16 Feb, 2012 @ 4:44pm
@Lu1zUm4d? Practice makes perfect
JoanneJoestar180 16 Feb, 2012 @ 4:51am
Woah nice, now I can finally put all that iron armour I've had lying around to good use.
Zirlian 14 Feb, 2012 @ 3:13am
wait a minute, doesnt this allow you to get level 100 smithing with only an iron ingot?
Gilded Knight 13 Feb, 2012 @ 8:09pm
You can't smelt thalmor elven armor into moonstone ingots.
patashnik 12 Feb, 2012 @ 9:11am
This looks nice. Does it work with uniques too, or just base items?
Thynris 12 Feb, 2012 @ 12:51am
Liking the mod, it just needs balancing. If you could only get back half the materials you would use to make it, then I reckon that'd go a long way to bthat end. Plus, anything that needs one ingot to make shouldn't be smeltable.
minininja77 11 Feb, 2012 @ 8:30am
Great idea for a mod that shot have been an original part of the game from the start, at least my new characters have something today with all those iron maces and junk they loot now.
Jessealien12 10 Feb, 2012 @ 7:30pm
allow the player(thats me) to gain half the silver or gold for the ingot and jewel from jewelery and other dwemmer stuph like the long strut, and the half of the ingots for the heart with daedric armor/weaps its not that fair to spend as much time finding hearts and ingots to lose the one or other
Klinker1234 10 Feb, 2012 @ 1:09pm
Makes sense, I just hope that its not unbalanced.
PansenPeter 9 Feb, 2012 @ 10:49am
now do the same to spoons, cups, bowls, etc. would love to see that.
