@Apollo Norm, the blinds are up/down with slats open, shutters are slats open/ slats closed, hybrid are the ones you probably are after, where (from closed lets say) it goes from shutter down slats flat, no sight thru "window", to slats opening up and then sliding up to the top, leaving the whole "window" open, with slats stacked at the top/bottom depending what way you set it.

These work fine, you just need to learn what type behaves in what manner thats all :)

actually none of the blinds work anymore they're all just shutters witha different animation

The blinds style slants are just moving shutters, they don't cover the window like they do in the videos

ah, nothing to worry about in the update. I just unified the block categories file so they are the same across all pack versions. :)

Hey bro, your Advanced Shutters & Blinds Mod Pack has been updated recently. But this one still shows 2021. Is that version better to use or does it matter? And can just use this one?

They majorly changed how glass is rendered and I would have to redo every single model that I have that uses glass unfortunately. :(

Does Keen have an undated published API since they keep changing things? It should be straight forward for modder's to see what's changed and adjust their code or models (assuming they have time and want to do it). Ideally, you want the mod api to be a blackbox that provides the same/consistent call I/O across changes/updates, especially if your app is in a released state. I know sometimes it's not avoidable to change api/interfaces but the workshop is littered with mods that have stopped working or behave strangely from original upload.

Keen changed the way glass works, but I will see if I can tweak the glass and hope it works :)

Nice mod! Just what I need to protect my bridge. But... the glass is to dark. Doesn´t let you see the space properly.... Did you find a way to tweak the transparency? If not, can you make an inverted version, as the other windows got? This makes the glas transparent there, so maybe it works here, too.

I love the animations on this mod, thank you for develpoing it! I do have a question although it is probably silly but, are the "no glass" versions airtight? the glass is very hard to see through but don't want to replace anything just to find out it wont seal.

They shouldn't get damaged by thrusters behind them, and I don't think they can be shot through yet.

I didn't make custom collisions to do that yet because it was a HUGE amount of work, sorry :)

This is so strange, the 1x1 blinds with no glass is airtight, but when I place the 2x1 version it isn't airtight when both open and closed. This makes no sense at all. lol.

The small ship small block size, or the small ship large block size.

Once I get my Collision maker program back up and running I can probably make them able to be walked-thru. :)

I will also check that one now.

I agree to have animated g-menu icons but don't think it is possible. :/

@SEModder4: Was 1x1 square blind with no glass that is still airtight when open. I found the other one I was after in the hybrid pack. So many to choose from it's confusing. It's a shame the icons in the G menu can't be animated to better show which is which. Just wish I could walk through the fully open versions.

Nah i made the collisions so you can't walk through them cuz it was much easier that way and saved me tons of time.

Try my Hybrid Mod Pack, i think those are what you are looking for. :D

Are we supposed to be able to walk through the no-glass versions? Currently, even when open, the 1x1 no-glass blinds are still airtight. It's been a while since I played, but the location I placed them suggests I was able to move through them at one point. Also, was there ever a three position version (open vents, closed vents and fully open), or is that just my imagination?

I have a possible update on the future of this mod series.

I might be expanding the mod to include sizes like 3x1x1 on up.

It is not confirmed but its on my mind.

Is it still overwriting vanilla glass or has that issue been solved by the recent mod update, I tested one pane of glass but not all of them?

I'm gonna do this update the easy way.

Going to let it use Keen's values for transparency and just remove the sbc so it doesn't overwrite Keen's values anymore.

The glass is visible enough with Keen's transparency settings so now this update just became that much better.

They will no longer overwrite other mods that use GlassInside/ GlassOutside<= which is what Keen and other mods use for their glass.

The mod update will be coming tonight.

Folks, I think it's important to note that SEModder4 is doing this on what limited free time he has and that the amount of work involved is substantial, given the size of the mod itself. As well, SEModder4 is not a paid modder and is doing this out of generosity, the love of the game, and the dream of what the game could be. That being said, were I in his shoes, I would be getting a little bit discouraged by the community pressure. I know it's taken a bit of time but put yourself in his place. Patience is appreciated by all in the end. Thanks
