For some reason, the Tutors keep replacing my heir

I just reloaded game and my heir has succeed studying after few months, you can forgot the two last commentary :p

Is there is a time limit for student to finish their studies ? I hold the Byzantium Empire and my heir is studying in Pandidakterion since 8 years

I tried to die and inherit with him and i kept the "hidden" tag and the student trait, had regent and i stayed like this for few years, nothing changed i had no event or whatever, is it a bug ?

( I use a lot of mods, but no big overhaul, i remember that i used the portait action " present your son to merchants " in this mod https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1589968896 , i'v done this after i send him to university and it just added my heir to a secret society, could this be the problem ? I guess i shouldn't interact at all with sons studying )

Can't i launch event or whatever from console so my heir can succeed studies ? Is it better that i use the get back action included in your mod before or after i inherit ?

@LezardGraphique I had tried to send close family members but then it really messes up returning them since there isn't a nice clean scope. But I'm glad you're enjoying the mods!

And is it possible to add a way to send close family characters at university ? Sad that we can't send brothers / nephews / uncles when we are emperor and they might be the next emporeror with elective system

Otherwise this is a great mod coupled with twilight of empires and rich childhood when you are looking for a more difficult game, congrats for your job on these mods

Sure, to disable tutors just go into the decisions folder and remove the call_tutor file

Is it possible to modify or disable the tutor part of this mod ? There is too many greeks character with the tutor trait that you can not land or interact with, even when you are play byzantine empire this is annoying

University part is a great idea but the mod is ruining every game after few centuries

Yep, these Greek tutors are quite frustrating. They end up becoming counts and gaining power everywhere. It would be better to have tutors from the same culture, especially considering that you can hire a Greek tutor as a Nordic German.

I had to disable the mod mid-game. Since it's a mega campaign, I fear the world might quickly end up dominated by Greeks. In just 50 years of gameplay, this is already quite noticeable.

@Gospodin Bazza Those are the Greek tutors you can invite as a Christian

This mod always ends up spawning a bunch of Greeks into the world for me...

@RPK-104G It should be compatible but I don't expect you'll get much out of it since you're several hunded years from most content but it should run fine

is this compatible with Dark Age mod? not the 482AD one, the other one. it comes with a tutor submod which results in 2 tutor traits being present. I fear one may override the other

Sounds interesting, but unfortunately when opening intrigue tab FPS falls to 20-30, making it unplayable for me

@Deadeye_7 It's best to use it at the start of a new game, it can get very buggy if you use it mid game

@Sergeant Non Sweat It should be compatible with most mods since I'm just adding files and not modifying any. I haven't tried with HIP but it works with CK2+ so it shouldn't be an issue

Do the added book do anything?

@BoomBler I'm not sure what exactly could be causing that since I have no real events at 881. The only thing I can think of is that the madrasa of Fes is being founded and it asks for a maghreb_arabic sunni character, and maybe some of the mods you have disable one or both of those characteristics

while playing the mod I encountered a weird "bug" I guess you can say. So I was playing the 867 start date as Byzantium with mod on and had no issue however in 881 game would crash, every time on different month. Today I spent around hour trying to figure out what was wrong turning mods off and on (admitelly I have mod list pretty bloated with mods like ck2+ and other kind) however nothing seemed to change anything. Only once I disabled University mod itself did I finally pass year 881, afterwhich I saved the game exited and launched it again with mod on and everything worked perfect (even got my old traits back which I didnt expect). So I am left wondering what the heck was even wrong? Was 881 just a cursed year? Work of an Abbasid conspiracy against Eastern Rome?
Please tell me if you have any idea what might have caused those crashes cause Im genuinely curiosed

Probably not exactly at the top of your priority list, but just wanted to make a small addition for anyone curious in the future: I ended up trying to see if a fully new game with just this mod and the WTWSMS mod would work, and the answer was a resounding no, so I realize now that it's very likely that for some reason WTWSMS and University are incompatible, rather than a problem of the mod being enabled mid-game, though I'm not anywhere experienced enough to begin guessing where the incompatibility might be stemming from.

Yup, suppose so. A shame, since I planned on taking this run into EU4, and thought the mod fit really well for the roleplay since due to a previous character I have a university great work in nearly all of my constituent kingdoms. I also ended up trying to see if trying unimod.1019-1001, the events individually creating all of the various universities (at least most of them, not sure if all of them), would help it work out, but still doesn't end up changing anything sadly.

@Nerm Ah damn, sorry to hear that, I can't remember what all the setup was but I imagine there was something more complicated there. In that case, you can just activate it for your next run!

Thank you very much for your help mate, although sadly it doesn't seem to be fixing the issue. I do now get events about the destruction of the Baghdad House of Wisdom and Pandidekterion, which rather makes sense seeing as Baghdad is still under Persian rule and the ERE is dead, but the game crashes on the month tick all the same

@Nerm I'm not 100% sure this will work but you can try run event unimod.1020 and that should do most of the startup stuff

Huh, would I be able to launch the events that usually cause their formation at start-up during the few days before the month tic in order to bypass this?

@Nerm I'm not sure why it might be crashing but I assume it's because the mod is assuming the universities are already present but the mod only creates them by event or on startup. So I guess it's looking for universities to already exists but doesn't find them which is causing the crash

Is it not possible to add the mod during the middle of a campaign? Been playing a WTWSMS campaign for a while, and thought I'd add the mod now in 1173, having found it. However, every time I go into the next month, the game crashes, and I'm not really necessarily certain why. I tried to go into the next month without the mod and then activate it then to see if it made any difference, but then it just instantly crashes the moment I unpause.

@gargamel You also need to be feudal and there mustn't be any other non-historical university

@gargamel To make your university you must be an emperor, have 5000 prestige and 1000 gold, you should have the decision show up once you become an emperor

how can I make my own university? I have the money and prestige, and the university of paris is in my territory

@Captain Butters It should be compatible since it doesn't change any of their files but I haven't specifically tested them together

Is this compatible with HIP? I'm also using Better Looking Garbs for HIP, would that crash as well?

@august_ekstrom You can either make your own university if you have an empire or, if you have high enough learning, you get a decision to open access to the Byzantine one

Hi, Im playing as Kievian Run, Can I not send my child or nephew to be tutored at a university?(Im orthodox, description mentions catholics or byzantines) if I can how do I do this?

@charlesccblelpfe I can't remember in detail but you should have that event at the bottom of each university file. It's a simple thing from there
