I don't know, sorry.
It might be hard coded (robes=yes, all armors=no) or it might be a property of the base item. All individual items belong to a base item class, which gives them their base properties, limitations, etc. Properties from the actual item come on top of that.
You can ask on Deadly Stream, there's people there who know more about this than me.

As a game mechanic those limitations do make sense to me, there has to be a benefit to using robes, it can't only be a cosmetic choice.

@Effix is there a way to mod Jedi armors to work with battle precognition (or the other way around, rather)? I often find myself tempted to play with armors but losing both DEX and WIS to Defense really is annoying.

Normally I love your reskin mods, but these ones are just so "power ranger".

could you make a mod allowing bao-dur wear these armored robes? I've always felt that was the whole purpose for these things being in the game to begin with.

The description lists the files, you could subscribe to both mods, copy files from mod B over to mod A and unsubscribe from mod B.

Would be nice to have a mod with both litght and dark so you don't have to choice one or the other.

Should have put this in my last post but, this is a great reskin. it works for the dark side and the light if your dark side use red. thats what i suggest :p

Would it be possible to darken the green color by chance? Something closer to the vanilla Jal Shey stuff would be cool. I also do agree with the Obi-Wan trooper armor reskin as well. A White and Brown look would look awesome.

This mod only includes retextures, no 3D model replacements and it has been around since last March.

I must be doing something wrong, cause no matter how many times I install this mod on a clean install/save and make sure no files with the same name are in either the game folder or workshop folder the textures, and some shapes just aren't how they're supposed to be.. looks like this with every version except the zeishon sha initiate armor https://imgur.com/DsuDHOS , that one doesn't change appearance at all, only texture..

I was thinking about doing a version where the white parts are black. The red one should be cool with that, not sure about the rest for a Sith look, maybe introduce a purple one and one that has gray parts instead of colored ones. For now I'm not interested in doing a whole new texture.

lol. This may be far fetched given that you just released a Sha/Jal mod.. Would it be possible to someway alter the Sha/Jal to have a more Sith look to them as your last mod made them look more like Jedi Armored Robes? Maybe a simple color change, or maybe whole new textures entirely. Just a thought.
