If you're the suzerain of city state Samarkand this improvement is already inserted in the game. So this is your chance where to find art for your mod.

Hi joshmanisdabomb,
your mod has been translated into German and the translation is now part of the Civilization VI Mods - German translations mod pack.
We would be more than happy if you could refer to the language translation in your mod description.

I'd like to take a crack at making some art for this. If I do how can I send it to you?

Perhaps using an existing improvement model ( such as the camp) could help you fill the model art gap?? Its even better if you can recolor it but just a thought

Is this mod compatible with the Rise & Fall DLC?

This is a great mod! The AI uses it too! I understand the hassle of making a graphic plot to it. Can it use an existing plot from the game? Beach resort, Fort or anything would be great! Just something =).

I miss the expanding trading post that eventually turns into towns and villages.

I did something similar to this on my own a while back - I used the beach resort and modified it to be available earlier in the game, not require coastal hex, and have a fixed gold rate rather than based on appeal. That way you get to have a visual art on the tile. (and beach resorts are useless anyways)

@bertha 68 I'm a civ 6 noob (prefer civ 4) but if improvement trading posts boosted gold from trade routes then domestic trade routes would become obscenely lucrative, especially roman ones. Food, production and now gold too? A commercial disctrict, harbor encampment, plus carthage's bonus would allow for 2 trade routes per city at +2 gold vanilla, without any civ bonuses. Having trade posts boost gold now boosts that to +3 for each civ minimum, plus 2 per city trade post rome sends theirs through, any policy based bonuses, and the domestic bonus of food + production.

And then there's the possibility of a roman/egyptian alliance... Oh gods the gold and food that could make per turn...
Bertha 68 3 Apr, 2017 @ 6:57am
If balanced well you can place them on your trade routes to earn a little extra revenue or to reach out for an otherwise not yet reachable city with your caravans, it beats the main purpose of making deserttiles better, but I think it would be really neat.

@Bertha 68 Surely that'd be op. I also don't really know if that is possible.
Bertha 68 2 Apr, 2017 @ 3:18pm
"This mod does not affect the Trading Post buildings obtained from trade routes."
Can you make them interact with trade routes as regular trading posts?
joshmanisdabomb  [author] 2 Apr, 2017 @ 2:42pm
@Bertha 68 What do you mean?
Bertha 68 2 Apr, 2017 @ 2:41pm
Can you also let them interact with trading caravans to cross a desert?
joshmanisdabomb  [author] 2 Apr, 2017 @ 1:35pm
@revan9876 No, it is +1 gold if there is one or more adjacent.
Skatman 1 Apr, 2017 @ 8:05am
You could then use this to work on farms, mines, quarries, and other resources.
Skatman 1 Apr, 2017 @ 8:03am
Great idea mate. How about the ability to upgrade the post itself? So:

1. You build a trading post with a builder.

2. You then research economics and use a builder on the same tile to "upgrade" the trading post and it becomes a commercial hub which provides a further +1 gold,

3. Then, when you've researched Computers, you upgarde it with a builder to become a world financial centre which then gives you a further +6 gold; however you're only allowed 1 world financial centre for every 5 cities you own.
joshmanisdabomb  [author] 30 Mar, 2017 @ 3:09pm
@revan9876 Good idea, I will include it in the next version.
joshmanisdabomb  [author] 28 Mar, 2017 @ 9:31am
@GeneralCDJ Having more food and production on a desert tile is probably more useful than having gold on it.
Hans the Nameless 27 Mar, 2017 @ 3:50pm
Australia went from the only civ to be able to build something on desert to being one that has options, meaning it potentially retains less advantage on desert tiles, was kind of what I was thinking.
joshmanisdabomb  [author] 27 Mar, 2017 @ 11:19am
@GeneralCDJ No worries mate. Australia will be able to build either a station or a trading post on a desert tile (not both). I don't think this mod helps or hinders Australia at all, since anyone can build a trading post which gives gold, but only Australia can build outback stations for food and production instead.

Hope that cleared things up.
joshmanisdabomb  [author] 27 Mar, 2017 @ 11:14am
@Mouse Certainly, as long as you're giving credit to me.
digital_mouse 27 Mar, 2017 @ 6:42am
May I use this od in a community overhaul mod im working on
Hans the Nameless 27 Mar, 2017 @ 5:42am
Outback outpost was what I was thinking of, sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
joshmanisdabomb  [author] 27 Mar, 2017 @ 2:01am
@GeneralCDJ Australia's buff is only for the Campus, Commercial Hub, Holy Site and Theater Square, as far as I know.
Hans the Nameless 26 Mar, 2017 @ 1:42pm
Great idea but doesn't this destroy Australia? Are they going to get some buff later on?
bostonbongrips 26 Mar, 2017 @ 1:16pm
Great idea, thanks for the upload. Good luck with the 3D assets, it will be awesome once you get them.
joshmanisdabomb  [author] 25 Mar, 2017 @ 5:00pm
@ITcore I will take a look at their code and see what I can learn from it, thank you.
CMDR Sheploo 25 Mar, 2017 @ 4:52pm
I'm going to keep my eye on this. Great idea, hope to see some 3D assets soon!

PS: Look at the mod creators of Resourceful. They created new 3D assets for resources and improvements. They might point you in the right direction. Or help you create something.

Very cool stuff! This may help to reduce reliance on Commercial Zones for practically all gold income.
