Hi dogkisser, would you be ok if I included this mod in my patch that condenses all portraits mods in vanilla's species_classes? Your mod would be a requirement for my patch and users would have to subscribe to your mod. Wonderful work - I have included parts of your mod in mine but then got banned for not asking for permissions. Do you have any objections to your work being included in mine? I have already added you to the credits list.

If this mod still isn't fixed and you guys want to manually make it work (for taking robot traits), you just need to do the following.
1. Download 7-Zip
2. Extract the Archive(zipped folder) located here D:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\281990\891425376\synthetics.zip
3. Edit the file called 00_synth_classes in the common folder, then species classes folder. There is a 1000 character limit so I will just put a google drive link and you can just copy the text or download it and trust I'm not smart enough to have hidden a virus. (Also google definitely checks for those before you download)
4. Rezip everything and you should be good to go, but I left an unzipped copy out too just to be sure.

I like how the robots look from this mod. I just find it unfortunate that they can't have any traits for some reason.

@Ravemaster99, it wouldn't normally break them, but somethign with this mod specifically is broken, and I suspect it has to do with the Synthetic Dawn DLC. Selecting any of these protraits in race creations results in being unable to pick an species traits.

I know every mod doesnt need an update, but I'm not sure if 1.9.x breaks portraits.

It looks like you actually can't play this mod with the current build. It treats the portraits differently than it treats the synethetic portraits from the other popular synth portrait mod, as well as differently than the machine portraits from the DLC. In the creation menu, you don't get to pick any traits if you use these portraits as of 1.8.1, i still need to update to 1.8.2 so i'll see how that goes.

Usually you can play even with the [!] icon.

However I'd suggest waiting for 1.8.1 public because then species mods can apply into trait archetypes without rebranding as 'Machine' e.t.c.

Don't update the mod and mark all these portraits the same as the new machines, because that locks them behind Hiveminds. I BEG you not to do that.

Have you seen the mod Networked AI? Take a look at how the mod functions, and that could help you designate these portraits as Robots only.

Or, you can look at Animated Synthetic Portraits, which is similar to this mod, but actually adds to the existing Robot species type. Looking at that could could also help.

Other than that, I'll take a look at how species are designated. I'm absolutely certain that you can designate certain portraits to not spawn naturally.

@ParagonExile I saw that! I'm looking into it, because that would be a relatively decent fix. I wonder if I'd be better off allowing people to pick robots from the very start or when they get the tech. I'm thinking the latter, though whether it's POSSIBLE to do that is a different matter. Fingers crossed!
