Hey folks, I know I am very late to the party on this, but I wanted to ask:

Is there any way to allow tinting of the whole model and not just the base? I was using it to make miniatures for playing the Paranoia RPG >.>
zardoz_speaks 12 Oct, 2023 @ 12:26am
Hey this add on is great! I wanted to get rid of those reflective metal bases and be able to color my bases and this mod works great for that.

The only thing its misting from the standard custom figurine, is being able to change the image scale vs base scale. This would make resizing large assets and keep scale a lot easier! Right now I'm on the fence between using your mod or using the standard version. Might just end up using both.

Something I figured out when making a 2d model for my EC mod, If you don't want the base set the Z scale to 0.01 obviously sense the art is 2d this doesn't effect it but it gets rid of the wide area around the model.

@Pizzamovies I meant to respond to you months ago. I actually made a smaller collider for you based on your feedback. Unfortunately, I locked myself out of my GitHub account and haven't been able to upload it. Good news is I think I finally found a way to get access again.
Pizzamovies 27 Nov, 2021 @ 12:27pm
This is a fantastic tool, i wish there was a way to make the collider mesh smaller then the base, i dont mind the mess being a generic box, but when it overlaps outside the base it makes the placement of figurines frustrating, unless im missing something.

Rokem! I just tried your 2-sided model and It's great, thanks for these templates. I was hoping to use one of those customizable cards scripts to print dynamic text on the back of my figurines, but I guess I will make it work with the hover method for now. Thanks so much for sharing :)

No one that I know of, but I'm also the only person in my friend group that's using it as far as I know, I'll add you so I can send them over
Rokem  [author] 3 Jun, 2021 @ 8:58pm
It's possible. Anyone else having issues with this? Also can you send me some of the image templates your using to see if I can replicate it on my end?
A Suicidal Banana 3 Jun, 2021 @ 8:56pm
I only have textures set up for the Mirrored Model so i can only speak for that one in particular, but this was the first one I had made with the mod and it was fine. When I was setting up the second one that's when the transparency started. I've tried changing the original photo used, resetting the saved pieces from scratch, cloning and changing the minor details of the clones in case duplicate values between them were somehow conflicting, re-saving the ones that were no longer affected, restarting the game,re-installing and trying the same steps again, you name it.

I can only assume it has something to do with the actual base itself seeing as it's the only part being affected by this. Maybe it has something to do with some recent update or change to the games code?
Rokem  [author] 3 Jun, 2021 @ 8:23pm
I'm stumped as to what could be causing that. Is it happening to all your pieces or just specific ones?
A Suicidal Banana 3 Jun, 2021 @ 7:29pm
I don't know if anyone else is having this issue or not, but for some reason the base occasionally turns transparent and it effects my saved version of the pieces as well. Any idea how to fix this?? I was planning on replacing all my models with these bases but that's on hold atm

@Onde Numse Drop the link to your workshop item so we can all check it out! :)
Onde Numse 14 Apr, 2021 @ 7:11am
Thanks for making this! I use it A LOT for my roleplaying campaign, and have even put some of my custom 2D miniatures - photoshopped using your template - up on the Workshop for others to use as well. Great work, Rokem! =D
Rokem  [author] 1 Mar, 2021 @ 3:17pm
Unfortunately no, but you can make the base invisible by simply not adding a texture in that section. You can also shrink/grow the entire model using the tabletop controls.
Mazzi 1 Mar, 2021 @ 7:06am
Your work is great! Also is there a way to have a smaller base?
ASAP Gonzague 21 Jan, 2021 @ 3:31pm
I use your nice work to build my arcadia quest 2d figurines thank you for sharing :)
Rokem  [author] 8 Oct, 2020 @ 4:12pm
@Kegs Try turning off mod-caching and reloading all your pieces to see if they update with the new (old) parameters. When I updated the model in March 2020 I messed up one of the parameters which would cause the issue you're describing on the old template. I've since reverted that setting so that this should no longer be an issue, but it's possible you have a cached version of this change still.
Kegs 8 Oct, 2020 @ 3:25am
I haven't used this mod in a while but since the last time I did, the templates were set up that the images were mirror for the double-sided minis. Now they are the same way i.e. left is the same for the front and back and vice versa. Now when I rotate all my previously made models, they are not properly mirrored and it looks strange. Is there a way to fix this without editing 100s of PSD files?
Rokem  [author] 24 Jul, 2020 @ 4:24pm
That looks really nice. I will definitely test this out for myself. Thanks!
Sallal 24 Jul, 2020 @ 12:21pm
mine was a clean cut for sure, and after using my way of exporting on the same files I got these results https://i.imgur.com/tIDd1Pw.png
Rokem  [author] 23 Jul, 2020 @ 7:44pm
Cool I will have to try that. In my experience, that fuzziness you're seeing is caused by white or semi transparent pixels at the edge of the cutout. An easy way to see this is after you cut out the image, put a bright red colour in the background on a new layer and you will see what I mean. Once you erase all the semi-transparent pixels it seems to fix it for me. However I'll try your fix and see if that works for me too.
Sallal 23 Jul, 2020 @ 5:32am
found the solution, if you are a noob like me and using photoshop then export the file Ctrl+Shift+Alt+W instead of Save-as.
Sallal 21 Jul, 2020 @ 11:11am
is there a reason why my custom made figure (left) has some white noise around it but a pre-built one (right) looks so clean? https://i.imgur.com/3iPbQ0C.png
ratva 14 Jul, 2020 @ 6:49pm
Understood - thanks for the quick reply
Rokem  [author] 14 Jul, 2020 @ 4:00pm
Unfortunately something like that is not possible.
ratva 14 Jul, 2020 @ 1:39pm
Thanks for the mod - this is great!
Do you know if there is any way to get some thickness on these to make them look like they're on foam (like https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/131209482263986176/732673194321772564/unknown.png )?
Thanks!
Niki 6 Jul, 2020 @ 11:18pm
I love how these look, and my players have made a few for their own characters.
Is there a place where people are sharing their creations with this mod / style of 2D model?
Spider 23 Jun, 2020 @ 10:51pm
Yes; that did the trick. As it turns out I've had these figures for years without realizing it!
Thanks for the bump in the right direction.
Rokem  [author] 23 Jun, 2020 @ 4:36pm
@Spider, I tested the latest model and can confirm the tinting works only on the base for all versions. Perhaps you need to turn off mod caching so it downloads the latest version?
Rokem  [author] 21 Jun, 2020 @ 4:26pm
@Spider, I thought I updated the mirrored model to the new version as well, but maybe I messed up? I'll check and fix it later if it's broken.
Spider 20 Jun, 2020 @ 10:55pm
Is the base-only tinting available on the mirrored figure? It seems to tint the entire thing.
Archey 27 May, 2020 @ 12:12pm
Those are perfect. Thanks a ton.
Rokem  [author] 26 May, 2020 @ 2:39pm
However, Spide did make one for his version. Check it out here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2080276283
Rokem  [author] 26 May, 2020 @ 2:38pm
@Archey, No plans, but I can make one easily enough. Give me a few days.
Archey 26 May, 2020 @ 1:00pm
Are there any plans for a wide based two sided minis?
Love using these templates.
Velgarn 19 May, 2020 @ 5:06am
Man, this is just awesome, i love how simple it is after you understand how it works.
Cactusade 14 May, 2020 @ 5:31pm
@Mharr GIMP or Medibang Paint
Mharr 14 May, 2020 @ 6:00am
Can anyone recommend some good image editing tools for pasting into these templates and saving with appropriate transparencies?
MurderHobo 6 May, 2020 @ 4:22pm
totally fixed my stuff thanks so much!
Rokem  [author] 3 May, 2020 @ 7:00pm
Update is posted, let me know if that fixed it for your models.
Rokem  [author] 3 May, 2020 @ 6:47pm
Thanks for catching that, I'm correcting it now. The problem arose when I rebuilt the model. Apparently, the original model was not set up on the template for each side to mirror each other (that is you can "fold" one side onto the other seamlessly), which is why your old tokens broke when I added the new model. Changes should be posted later tonight and you shouldn't need to do anything further on your end (aside from maybe disabling cache temporarily).

this model is how your minis used to act, now any mini that has a weapon on the left side always stays on the left or animals like crocodiles always have the mouth flip back to the left... i would have to fix about 200 models that were working, that are now reversed on side... help ;)
MurderHobo 3 May, 2020 @ 1:36pm
@rokem HEY :) First off thanks for this model... I've been using it for along time. Lately something has happened where my models no longer turn in circles properly. when the image spins around a mini holding a staff in its left hand, remains on the left side when the image goes to the back of the model. Searager has given me a model where this is correct.... essentially in blender when he shows me what happened your model looks like \ \ he corrected the models by changing on side so it looks like \ / if that makes sense i will post his version that repairs all my models
Rokem  [author] 1 May, 2020 @ 11:04pm
Thumbs up to Spide! Highly recommend you check his version out. While I could incorporate the changes into my own model, I don't want to ruin any tokens you have all already created by altering the model/template. Instead I recommend you use his version when you need that additional paper space. I know I will. :)
Jim Pete 1 May, 2020 @ 11:40am
AMAZING work!!! THANKS!!!:steamhappy:
Spide 1 May, 2020 @ 10:06am
I made a wide paper/normal base size version of this here:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2080276283

Super usefull for mini's that have things like wings or weapons poking out, Theese can be hard to fit on the normal stands, and sometimes you just dont want to use the wide stands
Dingar 4 Apr, 2020 @ 12:58pm
Such a vital addition to this game! Great job, thank you.
Rokem  [author] 7 Mar, 2020 @ 12:32am
New wide-base model has been added. It works very nicely with big wide creatures like dragons! Enjoy! :steamhappy:
Tony Spike 22 Feb, 2020 @ 6:33pm
@murderhobo i usually have the template scaled at 4096x4096 whilst working on it then drop the whole thing to 1026x1026 the game will load it fine at either setting anyway and shrinking the whole thing reduces the pixelisation ...but you should be putting the images into the game at a higher size anyway to reduce pixelisation

you are better off enlarging the template rather than shrinking the image

@ Rokem square base would be cool
