Ark had some changes that may have overridden this mod, I haven't had a chance to work on it in a very long time. Use at your own risk.

Does this still work? last update was in 2017

Started using this mod about a week ago (roughly?) on my server, I haven't seen any change in the loot I get from Alphas, the best item I've gotten so far was a Simple Pistol, which I can get from any Alpha normally, usually it's generally metal tools and hide/chitin armor, again, no different to normal Alpha drops. Wild dinos on my server get wiped daily, and I kill a LOT of Alphas, so just wondering if a recent ARK update broke this mod or not?

not a problem, I usually play with other mods that allow alpha taming, unfortunately theyre always huge mods, which is why I asked.

@bramse The linking of mods to ini files is part of an area of Unreal Engine modding I never dipped into. If you use ini file lines to remove items from the game, there is a strong possiblity that it would also apply to this mod.
@iamsenpai86 I understand that this mod almost certainly conflicts with alpha taming mods, however changing this mod or making another one that does both is not in the cards at the moment.

Are there any settings to customize what can (or more importantly, what can't drop)?
gwSenpaiAU 16 Mar, 2018 @ 12:28am
Is there any way you can add an alpha taming function into this - caus that would be amazing!

Rusty Dear whats the size of the mod?
Trait 9 Apr, 2017 @ 6:31am
Okay Thank you, nice mod!
Rusty One Two  [author] 9 Apr, 2017 @ 6:25am
@trait Yes, fabricated and crafted equipment are both in the loot table, so things such as picks and crossbows will drop, as well as advanced sniper rifles.
Trait 9 Apr, 2017 @ 6:09am
Okay thank you i was just wondering cuz in one of your post was something about "fabricated equipment"
Rusty One Two  [author] 9 Apr, 2017 @ 6:04am
@trait that's a loot drop appropriate for this mod. the pick and the crossbow were rolls from the mod, the other two were from the vanilla side.
Trait 9 Apr, 2017 @ 6:02am
I made a Sceenshot from it, and yes it was wiped, Blue Crosbow Blue Hideshirt Purple Pickaxe and a buch of Arrows berrys, Two arms and the Trophy head.
Rusty One Two  [author] 9 Apr, 2017 @ 5:36am
@trait did you wipe the original alphas first? And what level was the crossbow? I put in a pretty wide range of quality levels. I may need to increase the lower bounds of the loot roll.
Trait 9 Apr, 2017 @ 3:02am
I Killed one level 10 Alpha Rex and got like 2 Hide Armor items and a Crossbow, that seems like the Normal Drops, do i need to put the Mod higher in de load order?
GEMINIS 4 Apr, 2017 @ 2:33pm
Sadly I haven't, but I have the DevKit so maybe I can try to find out the variations of loot per level on acuatic alphas and helping you a bit.
Rusty One Two  [author] 3 Apr, 2017 @ 9:00pm
@Geminis Thanks for saying so! If you have any notes about the loot quality I'd love to get them as well.
GEMINIS 3 Apr, 2017 @ 11:43am
@Rusty One Two Great to hear that, and a big THANK YOU for your mod. Sorry that I didn't say it before.
Rusty One Two  [author] 2 Apr, 2017 @ 5:16pm
@geminis I'm planning to address the alpha mosa, tuso, wyvern, death worm, and leedsichthys once I've got the original three alphas balanced properly.
GEMINIS 2 Apr, 2017 @ 9:10am
Great idea, really the items dropped from alphas are ridiculous. Any plan to remap the loot from alpha mosa and tuso?
[RDC] Archemedes 30 Mar, 2017 @ 6:15pm
*facepalm* sorry, brainfart... I was thinking DestroyAllEnemies. Also the one part of your posts that would have pointed that out to myself was of course the one part I skipped over.:steamfacepalm:
Rusty One Two  [author] 30 Mar, 2017 @ 6:08pm
Usually people don't have tamed alpha dinos though.
[RDC] Archemedes 30 Mar, 2017 @ 6:07pm
You should probably recomend do DestroyWildDinos instead of DestroyAll because that will wipe tames as well, unless that is an issue I don't know of.
Rusty One Two  [author] 29 Mar, 2017 @ 7:54pm
Testing is showing that the modified animals are being picked up by vanilla spawners, but may be dropping loot that is a bit OP. I'm going to tune them down a bit in an update in the next few days, expand the loot chart, and probably post it.
DevilPrayer 29 Mar, 2017 @ 8:34am
i will test this :D
Sounds realy nice
Rusty One Two  [author] 28 Mar, 2017 @ 3:09pm
Once its confirmed that the spawners are picking up these alphas and I'm getting consistent feedback on the quality of the drops, I can tune the quality multipliers and add or remove items from the tables for balance purposes.
Rusty One Two  [author] 28 Mar, 2017 @ 3:09pm
The main change this mod makes vs vanilla is the chance of high quality, being mastercraft or better, weapons and armor. It is intended to be balanced against a reasonable power curve.

Vanilla alphas frequently drop very little of any real value, certainly not much that justifies their difficulty. Vanilla alpha raptors have a high chance of dropping cloth or hide armor or bps, which is absurd considering that such items aren't sufficient to take one down, and a tribe relying on such technology is unlikely to have tames that can handle an alpha.

About half of the loot from each alpha with this mod will come from the original tables, for variety and authenticity, so yes, berries and the occasional apprentice cloth hat blueprint will drop, but with this mod you actually do have a chance of a mastercraft pick bp from an alpha rex, or possibly something even better.
Rusty One Two  [author] 28 Mar, 2017 @ 2:19pm
Alpha Raptors, Carnos, and Rexes should now drop metal tools, weapons, and fabricated equipment, as well as armors, and bps, in addition to a portion of vanilla alpha loot.

The mod is in beta testing atm. The replaced alphas work correctly, the only question is if the spawners are picking them up or not.

After installation you should wipe existing alphas using Cheat Destroyall MegaRaptor_character_bp_c, cheat destroyall megacarno_character_bp_c, and cheat destroyall megarex_character_bp_c respectively.

It is time consuming to test to see if the mod is functioning in live due to the rate at which alphas spawn.

details?
TheGamingJedi 28 Mar, 2017 @ 1:39pm
Im tempted to use this mod depending on its specifications
TheGamingJedi 28 Mar, 2017 @ 1:39pm
And that stuff is?
