Found a stray quotation mark, removed all single quotes... still doesn't work.

One idea I had is that maybe special characters are an issue? Some parts use apostrophes.

As best I can tell, this isn't working, though I don't know why. I have added every single custom cosmetic part I have installed to the ini file, but if I start a new campaign with my character pool off, I get a horrible hodge podge mess of parts. Is there any chance this only applies to NPCs/civilians, not soldiers? I don't see why that would be the case, but I'm at a loss. Not to mention that I'm still seeing the None RandomPart errors in the log, so the script is being called.

It also seems like adding a lot MatchNames entries to the ini can cause XCOM 2 to fail to launch successfully. I'm seeing fairly consistent behavior around 130 entries.

I've been updating the .ini file for this and still getting parts I've blocked showing up on characters on the title screen (which are randomly generated as I don't have any active save files). I've been trying to troubleshoot the problem, and have noticed a lot of warnings in Launch.log indicating that the script is accessing a RandomPart that's None (presumably while trying to get the DisplayName). I'm not sure what would cause the RandomPart to be None, though.

My issue is that I have heads but all my crew on the avenger Scientists etc are missing bodies. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Yeah, I am playtesting mods and I see so many invisible head recruits/engineers/scientists. The fact that the ini you refer to has nothing in it but 7 or so female heads tells me something is up.

Isn't there a way to simply put in a line of code that tells the generator to NOT use... followed by a list of all the invisible heads? Or better yet, ONLY use the heads from the vanilla games/dlc/ and wahtever else someone wants to add? (personally I don't want cosmetic squadmate characters likenesses appearing on random recruits - their unique squadmates fora reason).

Idon't understand... your ini you referred to says "MatchNames....Invis Head 1" to 4... if those are selections to be selected by the character generator, doesn't that mean it would pick out invisible heads 1 to 4? where's the line that tells it to EXCLUDE invis heads? or is it working just because it overwrites xcom2's random character gen coding? well then.... what about the rest of the body, ie: arms and legs? XD

This works if you edit the .ini file as instructed; 4,037 subscribers (as of this date) would probably agree.

This mod fails miserably for civilians and resistance soldiers. I modified the ini to include the invisi heads I want removed and they still show up. I confirmed by checking the info on a recent engineer in my save file to make sure it wasn't an invisi head from a different mod.

@Queen Myxine: Guess one has to spell it out for a "queen": Read the description. PROPERLY. Because it never worked for every invisible head, only one kind...and I'd wager you got more than 1 mod using invisible heads, because that's just how it is - multiple mods adding them. (instead of all pointing to the original stand-alone version)
But might be a problem with WotC, if the only kind you got is the one linked up there. If so, my bad.

I'll elaborate.

The mod does not do its intended purpose at all.

I still get soldiers in the main menu with an invisible head.

I get recruits with invisible heads.

I get civilians with invisible heads.

I really wish this mod worked, I believe it may have something to do with WOTC.

Does this mod also serve to block specific body parts, other than heads? For example, I'm using several Mass Effect squadmate mods that employ very alien looking torsos, and I'd like to block randomly generated soldiers from having alien torsos etc.

Alternatively, could you point me in the direction of how to write a mod that does block torsos? Thank you for all of your time! Cheers!

this mod doesn't seem to affect the random background charecters on the ship some are still walking around with invisible heads. any way to fix this?

Just change the voicepack's language in its XComContent.ini file

Change it to something like Language="SpecialVoice" and as long as SpecialVoice isn't defined as the voice pack a particular nation uses (XComGameBoard.ini, IIRC) then it won't be picked.

For props I think you can only use the UseByVeteran (or whatever it is), rookies won't get them but the trooper has to be Sergeant rank (in vanilla) or above for them to unlock.

Yeah I wanted to disallow the random generator from choosing certain voice packs (as well as certain props). I tried it so far with voice and it doesn't look like it works.

- I ask because the mod they recommend for limited certain cosmetic appearances causes overall lag due to the files it messes with
- I'd like to use this as an alternative, but I'm wondering if blocking an alien head here is going to result in preventing said head on a game generated character (i.e. a recruited alien)

The crash of Spark coming back for mission, don`t generate a log. The other crash does generate a log. That confuse me.
