Another "must have" i always add to my games since i found it. love that one ^^ really big, good looking and effective.

ah ok. thanks für your answers.

i only remembered some of my drilling ships with a "watch space" for the cockpit had the problem that some little pieces of the asteroid where not drilled away, and that way they destroyed the cockpit during drilling down in the asteroid. (But this is long ago xD think was 2015 or earlier)

Since that try, i always build a more or less "closed" front full of drills. only maybe one block space between them for a cam or something to make the "fly that drill" realistic and possible. And max. 1 block more in ship size too of course.

because, how ever i designed a mining ship, it can drill through a asteroid without getting damaged. its a "must have" for my mining ships ^^

An .... well... functional but really bad looking ship i build actually in my let´s play, do the same.
But its way bigger than my normal ships xD

@Helmi, provided Keen don't mess with the drilling area of effect with future patches, they will perform exactly as advertised.

@Helmi, thank you for your kind words. No actually, all my vessels are modifications or script free (except for the LCD information script wich is harmless, and comes off as default). Now, about drilling, currently only the Retriever Mk 3 or Mk 4, and hopefully the Atterax's torpedoes can do that, they indeed can just punch through asteroids by going forward only and make holes as shown on the pictures, they are real. And this is just because they were built inside the drills "drilling area", so there are no edges falling off that area to get them stuck, instead of building the chassis first, and then adding the drills, like it is usually done. So it is really all about the design. Sadly the Retriever Mk 2 cannot do that, it will get stuck, but thats the payoff for it's "economic" design.

your ship design (of all these cool ships, not only this one) is awesome! really really cool job !

But one questions.... did you use a... well, a correction or a script or something like that to set the drilling space bigger?

some of your ships did not look like they´ll fit in the wholes they can digg ?!

That's got to be one of (if not the) coolest welding ships I've ever seen.

I love the builds that set their purpose clear. Outstanding hull detailing too, it's indeed exquisite build. Also, this comment can be applied to Gemini.

Rate up, and you're on my watchlist now :P

That would be the funniest thing ever, unfortunatelly that would render this model unable to be built using a projector, it would have to be copy/pasted with creative mode enable, sadly, defeating its purpose. If you need a smaller version that follows the same lines and style, try my gemini models: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=899098921

Looks really nice, i like the asymetry aswell. Maybe you could put the welders on each end on some rotors so they can swing in like a single crab claw to weld smaller stuff aswell :)
