it is, though the person who made it doesn't have time for it anymore.

Fei_Leong66: Not on this one. That is possible for the Harlem Line route recently released.
Fei_Leong66 28 Dec, 2024 @ 4:12pm
Could you perhaps extend from brewster north to wassaic? Part of the line is already made.

Acela994: Saluda Grade has the steepest ruling grade of any mainline in the US, averaging at 4.2% and reaching as steep as 5%. That does not make it the steepest grade overall; there are branches, stub lines and secondary routes like this one that have steeper ruling grades. What made Saluda famous was that it was a mainline route, seeing regular train service during the days of the Southern Railroad.

rrwreck: Was considered but not sure just yet

Any thoughts on extending the route over the Poughkeepsie bridge to Maybrook? PM me, I have the New Haven track chart.
PennCentral670  [author] 13 Mar, 2020 @ 6:16pm
ivo.manas. Yes the grades were real, especially around Poughaug as they had to use helpers on when the New Haven RR was around.

Hello, very nice route. But is it really in accordance the slopes? It still change elevation on short distances, up&down and sometimes more than 5%. Some can feel it enjoyable, but is it really connected to real world? It is hard to imagine someone to build something like that. So this is my only doubt. But again in general - very nice job..

Conrail was the last primary freight operator on the Beacon Line. The current railroad that runs and owns the Connecticut portion is the Housatonic Railroad (called the Maybrook Line). Metro-North owns the New York portion. The last known train to traverse the Beacon was in 2011. It was a Metro-North equipment move from Danbury to Southeast when the Danbury Branch was washed out in Bethel(?).

Only one I know of today is the shortline Houstanic RR
CrazyGecko 15 May, 2019 @ 11:24pm
Is there other freight operators that use the line? Nothing against conrail but the only ones I've seen are 3rd party reskins.

An Amtrak F40PH: Lol, it's called route building and skill my friend!
average fan 6 Mar, 2019 @ 3:00pm
I know this is a dumb question, but how to you do that?
PennCentral670  [author] 4 Mar, 2019 @ 4:58pm
An Amtrak F40PH: Try refreshing by clearing cache. Sorry for the late response as I was very busy outside of here.

For some reason, the tracks and grass textures don't show up. I have all the required routes, but it won't work. Any fixes?
c.debnam 4 Nov, 2018 @ 11:49pm
Thanks PennCentral. I guess I'll need to learn to make some, lol. Anyone have activities for this route they'd like to share??
PennCentral670  [author] 4 Nov, 2018 @ 2:05pm
c.debnam: Not that I'm aware of
c.debnam 28 Oct, 2018 @ 8:32am
Are there any scenarios made for this particular route???
PennCentral670  [author] 20 Oct, 2018 @ 5:03pm
jwth514: Then buy the route. You need it for track and some scenery
jwh514 20 Oct, 2018 @ 4:16pm
no i dont
PennCentral670  [author] 11 Oct, 2018 @ 2:36pm
jwh514: Do you have Sherman Hill? That is needed for tracks.
jwh514 10 Oct, 2018 @ 4:48am
theres no tracks for me when i play it

cththehero: Thanks for the comments!

Its good to see the line where I live in its golden age. Its a great route very well detailed.if it was connected NYNH this would have been awsome. pls keep adding to the route great job again
Dr_Trenchcoat 15 Feb, 2018 @ 4:36pm
I really liked the prison at MP 48
c.debnam 19 Jan, 2018 @ 6:29pm
Thanks for the link.
c.debnam 19 Jan, 2018 @ 10:36am
Good enough answer for me. Where can I find the Conrail C39-8 from.
PennCentral670  [author] 1 Jan, 2018 @ 7:58pm
c.debnam: It all depends on what you're trying to do because each camera view has a unique role. The only one that will not involve automatic movement and that you can control is the free-roam (globe) because simply you can move anytime you want but you have to be within a good distance from the train otherwise the camera will move automatically towards the train.
c.debnam 1 Jan, 2018 @ 7:42pm
So much movement in the camera views that it made me sick from watching it. Show views from the cab and outside but limit the movement. It's difficult to see the route with all the sudden view changes.

jmpoor3171: I was considering, as well as going to Poughkeepsie but I decided not to because I believe it seemed too much and there would be many challenges along the way so I think Beacon to Danbury is fine since I was aiming to connect all three of Metro-North's lines.
jmpoor3171 6 Oct, 2017 @ 4:53am
You know what would be nice, if there was a continuation of the Maybrook Line the rest of the way from Danbury to Derby/Shelton wye. Just a thought. It is mostly single track until you get to the wye at Derby Junction.

JAYBUG: I might know what your talking about but the last time I heard that there were ideas what to do with the Beacon Line was last year when I started around when I started. Hopefully I get those news soon.
JB_ArticBug 6 Sep, 2017 @ 7:20am
recent news tells me this line is going to be reopened to metro-north, according to wat ive been hearing
The_Orangutan 29 Jul, 2017 @ 7:23am

mark_ward_willlis: Your welcome!

an amazing RT. Thank you.

ReIntegration: I'm glad you noticed, you know I was considering making the Putnam Division but I believed that there were challenges and I didn't have enough resources to make it.
ReIntegration 30 Jun, 2017 @ 4:32pm
You know what I love about this route. You added the spur to the old long abandon Putnam "old put" route that goes down to the bronx. One of the first things I noticed.
PennCentral670  [author] 30 Jun, 2017 @ 7:25am
Agent Qracle: I might see that as a personal problem depends on what computer or settings you have but if it's an issue I might look into that.

WilBDow: NYNH is the template route, but the track is Sherman Hill and NS Coal is much needed for scenery and thank you for the comment.
PennCentral670  [author] 17 Jun, 2017 @ 10:24am
rhpcpa: Thank you for your complement!
idaho 2.0 15 Jun, 2017 @ 7:13pm
Is New York - New Haven the base route? This route looks spectacular, I'd love to be able to get it.
rhpcpa 13 Jun, 2017 @ 11:24am
PennCentral670: Very nice work. Thanks for including the quick drive scenarios. It must be a challenge to run the actual route, given the many uphill and downhill portions. I'm looking forward to the updates you're working on.
PennCentral670  [author] 3 Jun, 2017 @ 5:24am
Trent: I hope this helped.
PennCentral670  [author] 3 Jun, 2017 @ 5:24am
Trent: Sure I'm happy to help! What your going to do is when you are on the menu, obvuisly hit the build button ad go to a tab that says publish once there, there will be a list of workshop routes you've made or subscribed to, then find and click on the route you want to publish and wait for the ready to publish command. Add a description of your route. Once done, find your screenshot for your route, (you need one I order to publsih) choose which countries and what kinds of trains your route represent your route and also choose if you want it public. Once done and clicked the agreement button, click publish wait and its up on the workshop.
Trent 2 Jun, 2017 @ 9:23pm
Got a quick question ive been making a fictional route but im not sure how to publish it much help will be appreciated thanks.

Thunderbolt_78: You got it!
𝕿𝖍𝖚𝖓𝖉𝖝𝖗_ 2 Jun, 2017 @ 3:32am
Penn, I'm very excited about the route and can't wait to post some more screenshots, but the area where I'm working right now doesn't have enough scenery for a good shot. In the next few days :)
