On small CV's I don't use an interior warp drive. When I am ready to warp somewhere I pull the warp drive out of a cargo box and strap it to the outside of the ship. When I arrive at my destination I simply go back out and pull it off. Then I stick back in a cargo box. Takes abit of my time doing this but the saving on space is significant.

have to clear out the interior just to fit a warp drive.
