I use SketchUp, because it's very simple to use after watching some tutorials on YouTube. After that, I save it as a version 8 SketchUp file and can open it in 3ds Max. This should help you get started: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V33AWgKkWYU

I've been wanting to make some of my own assets, how did you get started on making them. :) Good work
