@Snazz : considered lots but i dont really play outside of the Online Bangers mod. And most of these little mods (like no assists, and different surface physics) are contained inside Online Bangers

This is great. Have you considered doing the same for tarmac?
Would be fun for drifting and added challenge with traction control off.

@SideSwipe : if you provide the server yes. Cant do anything really without hosting your own server.

Sam does this work for online ? If you make change like you described below.

Navigate to \steamapps\workshop\content\228380\902423362\data\vehicle\shared\physics\tiredynamics\gravel.vpdp
Copy this file to your desktop or elsewhere. Then open this file with bagedit (its in your wreckfest install dir)
Youll see a list of tire profiles and currently bugbear are using freckwest1 & 2
Then just reduce the lat and long friction values for those 2 profiles.
Save the file
Copy it back to original location and overwrite

Really? That's would be amazing! I'm a very hard driving enthusiast, who love to use Steering wheel + H pattern shifter + Clutch and that kind of stuffs and I only get fun when i drive very tricky cars with very low grip. Thank you very much!
Sam223  [author] 13 Jun, 2018 @ 6:40am
@nitr0_rs: agreed and can be done. Its fairly easy to change it to suit yourself if you fancy having a try
nitr0_rs 13 Jun, 2018 @ 6:32am
In my humble opinion it's not slippery enough.. :(
Could you reduce the grip or increase the sliding effect x4 or so in all surfaces?
Anyway thanks for your effort and sorry for my bad english

It will really depend on what suspension setup you use with the bangers. As camber is stored as part of the suspension file. Especially with the granada suspension setups where mk1+2 have + camber on front and - on rear vs scorpio susp that has - on front and none on rear and then different toe settings per chassis.

Performance is relatively easy to change, i just have enough on the to-do list already really to be messing with vanilla cars aswell.

I feel the opposite to be honest lol. With the bangers cars there's almost no fishtailing. If you get the tail our, it's really easy to get it back in I find. The biggest issue for their performance is understeering but if you can hit a good line (i can't lol) you can mostly overcome that without shedding too much speed.
And even if you can't hit a good line, it's still really easy to overtake the AI until you get to the top of the pack. But that just seems to be how the AI drive in this game...

I was thinking that something fun to do with the americans would be to give them a locked diff, perhaps get some more wheelspin. Sadly they're not really managing that either. I might look into making a performance mod for this sort of thing :o

Nice vids, certainly looks like the bangers are more of a handful than the default cars. Probably from the independent camber and toe setting, worse brakes etc etc. You can adjust everything in wreckfest other than gamemodes. If you wanted to slow all the yanks down you could just lower the engine efficiency of each of their engines.

That's what i do with the bangers mod anyway for realism and balance. Since a granada 2.8 engine is pretty common (meaning more get tuned up) a lot of driver use it as the norm for engine swaps between all cars. Chevy v8's are rarer and you'd be pretty crazy to race one and smash it up (especially tuned). So as stock in game they come slow (think barn find) and you can clean it up to factory spec only.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MVv2zsWeWY&feature=youtu.be Here's another video of me driving with this mod.

I wonder if it would be possible to change the physics to make the heavier cars slower, at least for the vanilla cars? Obviously most of the Online Bangers cars are not obscenely quick like the Americans are, so i think they're generally fine, but the american cars are incredibly overpowered in this game and it would be good to see them take a hit to their speed...

Depends which car you are comparing i guess. As the lightest cars in the bangers mod are lighter than the american bugbear cars 1200kg vs 15-1800kg. Asian 1/EU2 are a similar weight at 1000kg-1200kg. The merc600 is the heaviest car in game at 2300kg. Bugbear uses a lot of different physics settings per car aswell, bangers mod uses mostly its own physics per chassis apart from the odd tire and steering settings

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YU-jMkW2nWw&feature=youtu.be Here's a video of me racing with this mod (and several others as well, not exactly a scientific example).

Anyway, I'm using a gamepad.I don't think this is really an input issue though. The american cars handle more similarly to the Online Bangers cars with this mod - it's all about weight as far as I can tell. I think the heavier cars just stay grounded and don't tend to oversteer as much.
Sam223  [author] 14 Apr, 2017 @ 4:52am
What inputs are you using?
Pritchard 13 Apr, 2017 @ 7:45pm
that looks quite fun, though I am concerned by how different the performance between the Online Bangers cars and the vanilla cars actually is with this mod... Try driving something light like the euro 1, it's a real challenge to keep it straight and on the road.

My personal favourite so far is the Euro 2, that seems to hit a good balance right now.
Sam223  [author] 13 Apr, 2017 @ 7:09pm
This what im attempting to replicate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIq2N1Ya-7Q
Pritchard 13 Apr, 2017 @ 6:58pm
I disagree on the countersteering, once I got the hang of it I found it pretty easy to keep the car under control. That said perhaps if the current feeling can be maintained it would be ok.

I'm just concerned about keeping the current level of challenge in the driving, I would definitely be an advocate for extending these kinds of changes to tarmac as well, although obviously it would have to handle differently.

I guess I just hate winning...
Sam223  [author] 13 Apr, 2017 @ 12:37pm
Thanks for input jimmy, will try that
St. Jimmy 13 Apr, 2017 @ 11:12am
Now that it's so slippery you should add some Optimal Slip Angle. Can't countersteer at all without it if the surface is that slippery. Then I'd also add 0.1 to the Lateral Fricion parameters (or bit less).

Even though you don't make changes to Tarmac, I'd give it slip angle of 3
Sam223  [author] 13 Apr, 2017 @ 5:50am
Replced all tires except mowers and wrc.Should affect all mods the same now
Sam223  [author] 13 Apr, 2017 @ 4:27am
Glad you like it, i think its a bit more accurate.
As for whats changed, its just 1 file for each surface which controls how cars perform on the surface

vehicle/shared/physics/tiredynamics

There is a file for each surface used by the game and within each file is a list of tire types. ATM bugbear uses freckwest1&2, onlinebangers mod uses racingheavy&light. Other mods i am not sure but ill replace all the others with the same settings and update this later today.
Pritchard 13 Apr, 2017 @ 3:44am
Just one question though, what exactly has been edited? I'd like to add support for these changes to some mod cars.
Pritchard 13 Apr, 2017 @ 2:02am
This has totally revitalized the game for me. Driving is actually a challenge now! I was getting really bored of always beating the AI unless I handicapped myself, but I haven't actually won a race since I installed this...
