nvm it do, just had to use AML.
Orion 25 May @ 7:20pm
It doesn't show up in the voices menu, unfortunately.
Matikanefukukitaru 23 Nov, 2024 @ 7:59pm
@Epsilon-11: ALL Voicepacks work with WotC. There might be a few lines missing for certain actions of hero units or modded classes calling those lines however.
Epsilon-11 22 Nov, 2024 @ 5:58pm
Does this work for war of the chosen? If not war of the chosen compat when?
Savar Belmont 10 Jun, 2019 @ 10:37pm
Still works just fine for me. how does it force your computer to "reset"? i've never heard of that before. does it crash the computer? ctd? freeze entirely?
Wendersnaven 10 Jun, 2019 @ 8:06pm
Still works for me.
Lizard  [author] 10 Jun, 2019 @ 4:06pm
I have not been able to return to this project since WotC was released. When I do put this back on my workbench that will be an issue I address.
wargamesmaster 10 Jun, 2019 @ 9:05am
It doesn't work with WOTC, it forces my computer to reset...

Yes, I'm sure my computer isn't at fault here since I played for 1H30 at XCOM 2: War Of The Chosen without this mod activated.
Wendersnaven 11 Apr, 2019 @ 2:51pm
It's a little quiet, but works with WOTC.
Lizard  [author] 11 Apr, 2019 @ 1:24pm
I do hope to return to this project in the future. But I have no projected time-frame as to when that will happen. At that time WotC compatibility is on the list.
darkdill 8 Apr, 2019 @ 11:46pm
Was this ever updated to work with WotC?
adam west 15 Jul, 2018 @ 3:58pm
oh man, we really need the japanese version especially since the game lacks japanese as audio
Wendersnaven 22 Apr, 2018 @ 12:54pm
Thanks for making these. I was looking for Japanese since I filled out the character names with those of the voice actors, but I realize you'd have to speak it to do it. The Japanese voice pack in the workshop is funny- I constantly get told to "go to hell" or something in Japanese, lol. This is the next best thing, so thank you.
Savar Belmont 2 Oct, 2017 @ 7:28am
unless you intend to use them on the hero classes these voice packs work just fine in WotC.
necro55 2 Oct, 2017 @ 6:47am
Oh of course, you gotta handle your livelihood first.
Can you tive us uodates as you have time, looking forward to using this mod.
Lizard  [author] 2 Oct, 2017 @ 1:38am
Slowly, unfortunately, due to a fortunate design contract. Its still on my workbench, I've just got to prioritize the paying work at this point in time.
necro55 1 Oct, 2017 @ 10:12pm
Love the mod, how is the update for WotC coming?
Itwas acthually30million 19 Aug, 2017 @ 12:40pm
thanks for the collection. and to everyone else, SHUT UP AND PLAY THE FUCKDAMN GAME
[WTS]DrewDawgofWar 30 May, 2017 @ 9:56pm
Excellent! Adding the rest to my mod list now. Thanks!
Savar Belmont 21 May, 2017 @ 10:05pm
Arkhangel... seriously bruv. not to be a dick but just like me you have ZERO credits to your name. don't compare him to someone else.
Arkhangel 21 May, 2017 @ 9:09pm
nicely updated, a lot cleaner now. still got a ways to go till you're on Walker's level, but then he's probably the best voice modder we have in the community. still a LOT better than it used to be :)
Okami 17 Apr, 2017 @ 2:22am
do it pussy
Lizard  [author] 16 Apr, 2017 @ 11:12pm
Hey. If you kids don't quiet down I swear I'll turn this tachikoma around.
Okami 16 Apr, 2017 @ 10:08pm
@techstepman Shut the fuck up you weaboo virgin
Arkhangel 15 Apr, 2017 @ 4:57pm
@soul: look, never said it had to be perfect, but making a voicepack is more than just cut-and-pasting stuff... and as for modding, I'm hypercritical of anything i'd make too. I have however bounced ideas off people several times in here that have had things show up, and i help out where I can.

I'm also well aware I can come off as a prick... but... honestly... as i've said.. if you're going to do a voicepack, you should at least just do a basic filtering on it. when I heard this the first time, it literally was just sound clips from the show.

and if i ever post a mod, please, feel free to rip me a new ass if i make a mistake.
Savar Belmont 15 Apr, 2017 @ 12:43pm
@azureterra: thats a really good point. (also batou)

@arkangel: could you be more full of yourself? if you want the mod to be perfect make it yourself. simple as that. you're really entitled and seem to lord yourself over everyone who doesn't do things as you'd like. why? what have you done? i've seen you account. not one mod. not a credit to a mod. yet you judge anothers work as if you were some elitist wine critic with a stick up his ass. either use the mod or don't. i will. and... thumbs up for anyone willing to put in even the smallest bit of what you're unwilling to do.
Arkhangel 14 Apr, 2017 @ 11:09pm
@Azure: You know.. that other guy might actually be working on them. he just actually waits until he's DONE a mod before posting it.
Azure 14 Apr, 2017 @ 10:44pm
If the other VP is better then go use it. Im personally hanging out for Togusa and the Tachikoma's ~ somethign that the "other" VP author doesnt have.
Savar Belmont 14 Apr, 2017 @ 10:01pm
@arkangel the part that really annoyed me was the history lesson on a name that had nothing to do with anything related to the friggin mod. i'm well aware of the kusanagi sword, anyone who's ever watched manga or played a japanese game will run into it at some point. but it feels like you're just coming off with an air of "i'm smarter than you, do it how i want or else". so how bout just dropping this one? i'm not gonna say it's perfect but it's more than EITHER of us have done for this game.
Savar Belmont 14 Apr, 2017 @ 9:55pm
@arkangel he said he'll do it. if he doesn't that's fine to. take what you can get or make it yourself. ya dig?
Arkhangel 14 Apr, 2017 @ 9:34pm
@Soul: cutting out background noise is a pretty basic VP thing, man... kinda something you try to do BEFORE you start posting a bunch of stuff, less hassle to get it done right the FIRST time, than have to backtrack back through all of them to fix everything.
Savar Belmont 14 Apr, 2017 @ 5:01pm
arkangel he already said he's going to go back and fix it. and someone who isn't great with audio does the best they can. so... give em a break. they get better.
Arkhangel 14 Apr, 2017 @ 4:11pm
@Soul: Actually.. it's more the fact this isn't really a voicepack, it's a bunch of cut-and-pasted lines. Sure, that's a bit of work, but it also takes like.... 10 seconds to run a sound modding program like Audacity (which is freeware) and split the voices from background sound effects and music.

I mean, I'd love to use the Revy from Black Lagoon mod that's been around for months here too, but having that background music and stuff breaks the game for me, especially when 90% of non-joke Voicepacks WERE polished. Stuff like this is disrespectful to people who actually take the time to make a mod better. and, as I said, Audacity's freeware, and you can literally do what i said in like ten seconds. i did it in Creative Writing last semester. it would improve the quality of this mod at least tenfold.
Savar Belmont 14 Apr, 2017 @ 3:39pm
@「死の火」 Yamino Takamaru mostly annoyed by guys like arkangel. honestly if you don't like it don't use it. and to be honest "ghoat" is where i draw the line too...
Matikanefukukitaru 14 Apr, 2017 @ 12:52pm
@c_note_1001: Happens to everyone. Just a heads up, your title now has a new typo("Ghoat" instead of "Ghost"). :x
Seriously only meaning to point it out so you can make your work look good, which the title and description are important parts of imho. (@Dragneel mostly, pointing out typos is no nonesense imho, especially as they're usually quickly fixable especially when they're not in the mod's files, but only on the workshop.)
Lizard  [author] 14 Apr, 2017 @ 11:46am
-face palm- When did I start spelling that with an "i"?
Savar Belmont 14 Apr, 2017 @ 8:50am
ok you guys leave him alone with the nitpick nonsense. he typo'd deal with it. didn't make it jp. deal with it. stop telling him what to do and just let him do it. also i like this pack better than the other motoko kusanagi pack personally.
Arkhangel 14 Apr, 2017 @ 8:03am
Also... to put it bluntly, the other Motoko Kusanagi VP mod is better, because the Author took the time to cut out any background audio. this wouldn't be so bad if there was an actual music mod for Ghost in the Shell for XCOM 2. Would be kinda awesome to have Run Rabbit Junk play when combat started :D
Arkhangel 14 Apr, 2017 @ 8:01am
Kusanagi also means "Grasscutter". it's the name of a Tsurugi (Straight-blade Japanese Longsword, NOT a Katana or Nodachi, they're curved) that's one of the Imperial Artifacts.

It got the name because according to myth, it was given to a hero who had an enemy attempt to kill him by shooting his horse and lightning the field of grass he was in on fire, thus prompting him to try and use it to remove fuel for said fire near him. also according to myth, however, Kusanagi was apparently capable of controlling the wind, which let him blow the fire back into the enemies who had set it in the first place.
Matikanefukukitaru 14 Apr, 2017 @ 5:15am
@neuromancer and others talking about the name: Well, my mistake on the name. Misread it as "Makoto" instead of "Motoko", but it's the same in Japanese and English as Siodog pointed out...the name order is up to the modder in any case imho anyway. It's not subtitles, where there can be logical reasoning for both sides.

@c_note_1001: Like the fact that you added the "English" to the name, and seriously no offense, but her last name's still written wrong. :x "Kusanagi" it is instead of "Kusinagi", this time I'll give a source too, since I made a mistake on her name before myself. https://myanimelist.net/character/1795/Motoko_Kusanagi
neuromancer 14 Apr, 2017 @ 2:23am
I just looked up the other one, the key differences are the voice actors and sources.

The previous one: "adds a voice pack for the Major to XCOM2; lines are taken from GITS: First Assault and also SfvsTK (Nina)" which are video games, First Assault being an MMO that sounds like it failed to capture the actual essence of GitS.

Whereas this one is from GitS Stand Alone Complex (anime series).

Obviously the other one will be cleaner as they are just voice files from the games, whereas this one does have some background noises as they are audio clips from the show. Of course there is the question of *who* is the voice of Motoko to you. The voice actors from the anime are probably more familiar to many.
Lizard  [author] 14 Apr, 2017 @ 2:21am
SlayerOfKings -I just checked out the voice pack done by Jblade, it can be found here for anyone who is interested: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=858964771

I have not tested Jblade's version in my own game so I can not say for certain on the differences beyond what was posted in the comments and from watching the preview video.
From comments I gather that Jblade made use of audio samples from work by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn beyond Ghost in the Shell while I did not. Comparing the video (without having tested Jblade's MOD myself, and without knowing what changes have been made since said video was posted) my mod appears to have more Voice Cues.

Also, in all honesty, mine is possibly dirtier at this point. I plan to clean my own audio, but that wont occur until I've completed all of Section 9's voice packs.
Lizard  [author] 14 Apr, 2017 @ 2:03am
SlayerOfKings -I am unaware of said voice pack.
Slayer0fKings 14 Apr, 2017 @ 1:07am
I like the concept but Jblade also did a Motoko pack about a few months ago is there any key differences?
neuromancer 13 Apr, 2017 @ 9:02pm
First, to the modder: Nice work, been planning to add Motoko to my game, and was considering what to do for a voice, and now you this. Cool. :snaggletooth:

To the people whining about the name: In everything, the English version of her name is Motoko Kusanagi, maybe that's not a 'correct' translation (to you), but that is what was decided on about 20 years ago when Ghost in the Shell came to the West. As SlayerofKings said, Google it.

"But that's not the correct Japanese name!" I hear the Otaku cry with indignation. Yeah, yeah, what the f**k ever. I'm so sure that when things get translated from English, or French, or German, or whatever into Japanese that the translation is perfect. Moving from language to language is difficult, some words and concepts move with difficulty, names are sometimes very difficult. Life's a b***h, wear a helmet.
Lizard  [author] 13 Apr, 2017 @ 8:54pm
Batou, Togusa, Ishikawa, Saito, Paz, Borma, Tachikoma. You will see them all eventually.

Don't worry about the bickering, I get it. This isn't the first time I've encountered the DUB v SUB argument. And to give the SUBers out there an objective reply, I would probably agree that the dialogue in the native language is of higher standard. In the DUB the writing is saturated with information dump in practically every line, its awkward since people don't speak to include every topical detail in every sentence. All of that being said, I have no proficiency in Japanese, and to that effect, even if I attempted to extract the native language audio while refering to the SUB translations there is no way I could have any certainty that what I extracted made any sense.
Savar Belmont 13 Apr, 2017 @ 7:16pm
@「死の火」 Yamino Takamaru i'd agree with that. but the part that bugged me was the attack for it.

@c_note_1001 seriously though. thank you. i hope that regardless of our bickering you don't decide to stop. (and i hope for batou... seriously. one of my favorite characters) but i'd say this to any and all modders. make what you want, call it what you will. it's yours. no one elses.
APasz 13 Apr, 2017 @ 6:40pm
Guys, her given name is Mokoto and family name is Kusanagi.
In the west it's given then family.
In Japan it's family then given.
Slayer0fKings 13 Apr, 2017 @ 5:43pm
It's in every form of media from the Manga to the Anime to the Film it's Motoko. Google is your friend.
Conefed 13 Apr, 2017 @ 2:02pm
After Google, I'm sufficiently convinced it is Kusanagi Motoko
