Yes, I'm sure my computer isn't at fault here since I played for 1H30 at XCOM 2: War Of The Chosen without this mod activated.
Can you tive us uodates as you have time, looking forward to using this mod.
I'm also well aware I can come off as a prick... but... honestly... as i've said.. if you're going to do a voicepack, you should at least just do a basic filtering on it. when I heard this the first time, it literally was just sound clips from the show.
and if i ever post a mod, please, feel free to rip me a new ass if i make a mistake.
@arkangel: could you be more full of yourself? if you want the mod to be perfect make it yourself. simple as that. you're really entitled and seem to lord yourself over everyone who doesn't do things as you'd like. why? what have you done? i've seen you account. not one mod. not a credit to a mod. yet you judge anothers work as if you were some elitist wine critic with a stick up his ass. either use the mod or don't. i will. and... thumbs up for anyone willing to put in even the smallest bit of what you're unwilling to do.
I mean, I'd love to use the Revy from Black Lagoon mod that's been around for months here too, but having that background music and stuff breaks the game for me, especially when 90% of non-joke Voicepacks WERE polished. Stuff like this is disrespectful to people who actually take the time to make a mod better. and, as I said, Audacity's freeware, and you can literally do what i said in like ten seconds. i did it in Creative Writing last semester. it would improve the quality of this mod at least tenfold.
Seriously only meaning to point it out so you can make your work look good, which the title and description are important parts of imho. (@Dragneel mostly, pointing out typos is no nonesense imho, especially as they're usually quickly fixable especially when they're not in the mod's files, but only on the workshop.)
It got the name because according to myth, it was given to a hero who had an enemy attempt to kill him by shooting his horse and lightning the field of grass he was in on fire, thus prompting him to try and use it to remove fuel for said fire near him. also according to myth, however, Kusanagi was apparently capable of controlling the wind, which let him blow the fire back into the enemies who had set it in the first place.
@c_note_1001: Like the fact that you added the "English" to the name, and seriously no offense, but her last name's still written wrong. :x "Kusanagi" it is instead of "Kusinagi", this time I'll give a source too, since I made a mistake on her name before myself. https://myanimelist.net/character/1795/Motoko_Kusanagi
The previous one: "adds a voice pack for the Major to XCOM2; lines are taken from GITS: First Assault and also SfvsTK (Nina)" which are video games, First Assault being an MMO that sounds like it failed to capture the actual essence of GitS.
Whereas this one is from GitS Stand Alone Complex (anime series).
Obviously the other one will be cleaner as they are just voice files from the games, whereas this one does have some background noises as they are audio clips from the show. Of course there is the question of *who* is the voice of Motoko to you. The voice actors from the anime are probably more familiar to many.
I have not tested Jblade's version in my own game so I can not say for certain on the differences beyond what was posted in the comments and from watching the preview video.
From comments I gather that Jblade made use of audio samples from work by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn beyond Ghost in the Shell while I did not. Comparing the video (without having tested Jblade's MOD myself, and without knowing what changes have been made since said video was posted) my mod appears to have more Voice Cues.
Also, in all honesty, mine is possibly dirtier at this point. I plan to clean my own audio, but that wont occur until I've completed all of Section 9's voice packs.
To the people whining about the name: In everything, the English version of her name is Motoko Kusanagi, maybe that's not a 'correct' translation (to you), but that is what was decided on about 20 years ago when Ghost in the Shell came to the West. As SlayerofKings said, Google it.
"But that's not the correct Japanese name!" I hear the Otaku cry with indignation. Yeah, yeah, what the f**k ever. I'm so sure that when things get translated from English, or French, or German, or whatever into Japanese that the translation is perfect. Moving from language to language is difficult, some words and concepts move with difficulty, names are sometimes very difficult. Life's a b***h, wear a helmet.
Don't worry about the bickering, I get it. This isn't the first time I've encountered the DUB v SUB argument. And to give the SUBers out there an objective reply, I would probably agree that the dialogue in the native language is of higher standard. In the DUB the writing is saturated with information dump in practically every line, its awkward since people don't speak to include every topical detail in every sentence. All of that being said, I have no proficiency in Japanese, and to that effect, even if I attempted to extract the native language audio while refering to the SUB translations there is no way I could have any certainty that what I extracted made any sense.
@c_note_1001 seriously though. thank you. i hope that regardless of our bickering you don't decide to stop. (and i hope for batou... seriously. one of my favorite characters) but i'd say this to any and all modders. make what you want, call it what you will. it's yours. no one elses.
In the west it's given then family.
In Japan it's family then given.
