Make it so the front sight post stays with the optics. Don't remove it.

@RightWing Actually, since the upper still had A1 iron sights, it was most likely a Colt M723

But you didn't notice how they had a CAR-15 stock and an A2 upper, so the M4A1 was probably a Colt 727 in CS:GO, just like the AK-47 is actually an AKM or the M4A4 a 10.5'' barrel mod instead of whatever an 'A4' is.

As a gun nut I really hate how CSGO popularized this. They made up a weapon that was supposedly better, yet kept the shitty handguard that had already been phased out.

I had a look at the Operator M4A1 mod and it changes the weapon model so no it would conflict with this mod. Tell you what, I'll make a seperate version like I mentioned. I only left the ranger plate on because it was part of MrBrightside's M4 anyway.

Is this compatible with the Operator M4A1 - Gray Stanag mod? I really can't stand the ranger plate.

If lots of people would prefer to use a version without the ranger plate or the vanishing sight I could make a seperate mod if you like, but it's not worth it if there's only one or two sticklers.

Same rules apply; a model is a model. Besides, the M4 in this mod is the standard M4.

Just open the model in blender, highlight and delete the gas block, copy a vanilla front sight and join it to the model and then compile. You'll need to delete my a_carryhandle_m4 and w_flipup3 files from the mod for the vanilla ones to take effect.

I've tried those guides but they provide the specifics of replacing standard weapons which seems fairly straight-forward enough while I am trying to mod a mod.

Also is there a way to keep the sights when an optic is placed on? I'm equipped with all the modder's tools of VMT, blender, etc. but I need a damned guide.
