Any mod like this for 3.11? :steamsad:
Meltup  [author] 19 May, 2023 @ 10:09pm
@Dustreaper
Ah, cool! I will include a link to your version in the description then. Don't have time to work on the mods at all
Dustreaper 19 May, 2023 @ 1:26am
I updated my Younger Leaders mod from 2017 to include lithoids.
18 May, 2023 @ 6:02am
pls let it work for lithoids
PonyEmpire 12 May, 2023 @ 2:07pm
Can you Update for 3.8?
Omphalos 5 May, 2023 @ 10:41pm
you'll own nothing and you'll be happy
Davi 29 Apr, 2023 @ 1:07am
hmm doesnt seem to work anymore? Getting 30+ year olds again
Petrichor 29 Sep, 2022 @ 12:58pm
You're awesome, thanks.
Meltup  [author] 28 Sep, 2022 @ 9:08pm
@Petrichor
Oh, thank you! Good catch. It was refreshing every 10 years in old versions of the game. I have just checked the code, and it is indeed 1 year now. Mod is updated to not affect leader pool refresh rate anymore :nepnep:
Petrichor 28 Sep, 2022 @ 7:51pm
Thanks! But the wiki says the default refresh is 1 year?
Meltup  [author] 28 Sep, 2022 @ 7:44pm
@Petrichor
This mod does override the default leader pool refresh rate (down to 5 years from original 10 years). DLC races are not touched. People have reported that the mod does not affect lithoid, and I tested it for hive minded - the mod seems to not affect them either (hive minded start young anyway though).
Petrichor 28 Sep, 2022 @ 11:35am
Different pop types (hive minded, lithoid, etc) have different starting ages. How does this mod interact with that? Do all types get the same starting ages?
And does this mod override the default leader pool refresh rate?
Valak 4 May, 2022 @ 6:45am
@ZeeHero Actually, Biologically it is very possible to have a child at that age, or younger. Right or wrong, depending on a person's view not being the point... However, coming from a factual, Scientifically proven, as well as having been done so since Humans were living in caves.. It can be done. But yeah, like @Meltup said, Use your imagination as to why.
Kamisori 18 Mar, 2022 @ 3:02pm
ZeeHero... are you kidding me, its natural for that to happen especially if its a Science fair project I mean if its possible to mine matter but not go inter-galactic why is it not to clone things and build it using the cloned things.. think of Sci fi legos basically.
ZeeHero 12 Aug, 2021 @ 2:02pm
Maybe its her kid who fell through a time rift from the future! or for materialists the result of her high school science fair project.
Meltup  [author] 11 Aug, 2021 @ 5:19am
@ZeeHero
Not much can be done about that, sadly. But given the opportunities of future genetics - it could have been vat-grown son or something. Possibilities are left to your imagination :LIS_poker_face:
ZeeHero 13 Jul, 2021 @ 5:41pm
Little issue when using Imperial authority, my 27 year old Empress can not possibly have a 17 year old son.

I mean its biologically impossible given she's a human. is there a way to make it so when using human portraits with Imperial authority, the first ruler starts older? if my Empress was 38 or something, just for the first one, it'd make more sense to have a 17 year old heir.
Words and Philosophy 9 Jul, 2020 @ 4:47am
Could you make Synth leaders be older, too, maybe?
zem 3 Jul, 2020 @ 4:51am
This mod is exactly what I was looking for, but I'm really sorry that it doesn't have any features for Lithoids Species.
Meltup  [author] 5 Apr, 2020 @ 7:54am
@Very_Svensk
Yeah, just change LEADER_POOL_LEAD_TIME to what ever value you would like. Personally I chose 5 years because it was a rather good value for the times of Stellaris 2.1 - it didn't feel like eternity but was also limiting enough.
Svensk 5 Apr, 2020 @ 7:24am
Question - Can you make the leader pool refresh MUCH faster?

One finds that in the very early game you crank out a ton of science ships and scraping up 150-200 energy for a leader is very difficult due to the low income.

You want leaders you are satisfied with in the beginning.
Meltup  [author] 19 Mar, 2020 @ 10:49am
I don't have Lithoids DLC so no idea how they work, sorry :ds_sob:
drunkenondreams 19 Mar, 2020 @ 10:40am
doesn't seem to work for lithoid, they are all old. Unless they are suppose.
Meltup  [author] 17 Mar, 2020 @ 2:37am
Updated for Stellaris 2.6!
(but nothing has changed really)
fortysw4rm 23 Feb, 2020 @ 12:13am
Thanks for making this. I was going crazy cycling through the leader pool having to worry about getting the right trait and not being crazy old.
zigurat 6 Jan, 2020 @ 1:35pm
I see, I do remember seeing that a lot of mods affect both playes and ai, thanks for answearing
Meltup  [author] 6 Jan, 2020 @ 4:24am
@zigurat
I think that may be a bad idea unless done in a very tricky way. As it stands right now, defines affect all the gameplay - not only your star nation gets younger leaders but AI get them too. If hiring age gets moved to 700 years old then all empires will get leaders of that age range, and it will create quite a problem for short living races (their leaders will die next month after recruitment).
zigurat 5 Jan, 2020 @ 9:38pm
Of course people would need to get an immortal mod as well clearly.
zigurat 5 Jan, 2020 @ 9:18pm
Would you make a mod to make all leaders start older? for rp? say 700 years old?
Mistif_actuel 19 Nov, 2019 @ 11:04am
it would be cool if older leaders start at higher levels compared to younger ones.
onit 2 Nov, 2019 @ 10:13am
anyway to be able to pick leaders you may want or need
onit 2 Nov, 2019 @ 10:11am
nice mod i have to try it on 2.5
Meltup  [author] 29 Oct, 2019 @ 3:50pm
Mod is updated for Stellaris 2.5!
Meltup  [author] 21 Oct, 2019 @ 12:39pm
@[EC] diego.fp09 {AdC}
The mod seems to work fine for Stellaris 2.4; I have updated the number of supported version!
RedAurelian270 21 Oct, 2019 @ 8:37am
Hey Meltup this mod is great and i have alreazdy used in 3 multiplayer games and now i connot play with out it will be an update for 2.4?
Meltup  [author] 7 Jun, 2019 @ 3:11pm
Mod works perfectly fine! Updated the description.
Meltup  [author] 6 Jun, 2019 @ 7:17am
@[EC] diego.fp09 {AdC}, I think it should be. It is very basic mod. That said, I planning to test and update it on this weekend.
RedAurelian270 5 Jun, 2019 @ 11:34am
Is this mod compatible with 2.3?
Black-Rose.DL 3 Jun, 2018 @ 3:15pm
Many thanks for the update! And also thank you for the information.
I don't really care for steam achievements and i have several other mods installed that also affect them. But it is funny to see how many improvements i would loose for those achievements.
Meltup  [author] 3 Jun, 2018 @ 1:38pm
@Black-Rose.DL, updated! And yes, the mod changes game defines that affect balance, so achievements shouldn't work with it.
Black-Rose.DL 26 May, 2018 @ 11:22am
Thank you for your work. :-)
I think this will improve the gameplay. For sure on my singleplayer campaigns. Only for my information - does the mod affect achievment?
Hope you will find the time to update the mod to version 2.1
Meltup  [author] 9 May, 2018 @ 8:20am
@Cpt. Carnage™, of course - otherwise you won't have as much time to level up them and gain the best results from their lifework. If you are talking about realism then it would be good to have older leaders being more experienced... but such thing would also bring big change to the balace and game mechanics.
Cpt. Carnage™ 7 May, 2018 @ 12:50pm
There are many different methods of succession in monarchic states, for example the Saudi monarchy is succeeded by the next oldest brother of the current king, not his children.

As for this mod specifically i stumbled on it looking for a mod that would add my heir to the leader pool so I can build there backstory for RP purposes or whatever, but I can't help but be surprised....author believes that top government positions should be awarded to people who just finished college??? Like maybe the US secretary of state should be some 23 year old with a BA or our next head of the joint chiefs should be a 19 year old former private....maybe the new supreme court justice should be a guy who took pre-law for 2 years before changing majors to art history! lmao
Olive 8 Feb, 2018 @ 4:03pm
On top of that, some "Kings" ruled when they weren't even old enough to walk with the previous monarch's advisors to rule while the heir aged.
Olive 8 Feb, 2018 @ 4:01pm
Heirs are very possibly siblings - in the past, the oldest of the children would be the first to take the throne. They don't have to be the ruler's child to be heirs.
Weaver 25 Dec, 2017 @ 2:13pm
All heirs should start at 1
Meltup  [author] 25 Dec, 2017 @ 12:24pm
Um, it is not hard to explain... perhaps the heir is brother/sister of the current emperor? Or adopted child? But I do recommend to use Rare Heirs to make these situations less common :hee:
Shadow Cheese 24 Dec, 2017 @ 3:57pm
Emperor: Age 20
Heir: Age 14

I don't want to know the explanation behind that.
Chapter Serf 17 Dec, 2017 @ 10:33pm
Great mod. One small issue... If you're playing as an Imperial authority, the first heir usually starts out at like 16, with the first leader starting out at like 26, 24.

Kinda weird!!
Weaver 21 Jun, 2017 @ 10:56am
hey great mod m8
