@Nopnor, if you check the description, i havent updated this mod in years, and there's a reupload in the description.
Nopnor 14 Mar, 2024 @ 3:05am
it has bug in robot assembly
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 19 Sep, 2021 @ 4:27pm
Added. Thanks for finding and uploading a fix.
Tryor 19 Sep, 2021 @ 12:34pm
I spend so much time figuring out why it doesn't work after uploading to steam workshop only to realise that I have to get rid of the local mod in order for it to work because they have the same names xD

Anyway link to my mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2606472043

If you want to keep it maintained, feel free to upload your own version, and link it here, i'll add the link to the description. Or if you like, I can just add you as a friend, then as a contributor to the mod, and you can upload the fix here yourself. Or sent me the files, and I'll upload it. I'm happy either way.
Tryor 19 Sep, 2021 @ 9:49am
I have made a working version so I can either send you the files or just upload it myself and mention you as author of original mod. Which option do you prefer?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 18 Sep, 2021 @ 12:39am
I haven't played stellaris in a long time.and barely even remember how this mod was put together. If someone wants to work out the fix, I'm happy to apply it and provide credit, but it's unlikely i'm going to be able to work out the fix myself any time soon. My apologies.
Sleepless Homunculus 17 Sep, 2021 @ 6:04pm
Can confirm.
Cannot assemble pops with this mod enabled.
Abcd 17 Sep, 2021 @ 9:22am
Having the same problem as harlech
harlech 14 Sep, 2021 @ 11:03pm
Doesn't crash the game with 3.1.1 but it stops my machine pops from growing (well, building since they are machines). If I disable this mod, pops start growing again the next month. Please fix.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 20 Apr, 2021 @ 6:10pm
Awesome, thanks for letting me know.
555strat 20 Apr, 2021 @ 4:43pm
Seems to be working fine in 3.0.1.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 16 Apr, 2021 @ 9:32pm
I dont' see any reason it wouldn't, unless they changed the coding associated with traits and archetypes.
hsenna 16 Apr, 2021 @ 1:04pm
Is it working with 3.01?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 13 Apr, 2021 @ 11:01pm
If you wanna upload it, be my guest. It's not as if this mod is unique or a huge amount of work. Sorry I didn't get around to looking into making the change. I'm just happy a bunch of people made use of something I threw together to fix a dislike I had about the game.
NotNitehawk 13 Apr, 2021 @ 4:28pm
Honestly, I don't even know why I asked. I actually do a little bit of modding myself, though most of it is just stuff that's super-specific to my play style.
NotNitehawk 13 Apr, 2021 @ 4:27pm
Use this file name: "xvcv_mdlc_species_archetypes.txt"
Use this line:
"
XVCV_MDLC_BIO_ROBOT = {
species_trait_points = 2
species_max_traits = 10
}
"
I actually already made one myself, but I'm gonna gonna upload it cuz I literally just stole your mod and added the new file, unless you give me your permission, ofc.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 9 Apr, 2021 @ 2:19pm
Machine and robot expansion? I assume that's another mod. I'll look into it over the next few days. I'll have to work out how to adjust the mod to work with it without breaking vanilla, I might have make a version of the mod that works with it. I'm busy over the weekend, but i'll see about it mon/tues.
NotNitehawk 8 Apr, 2021 @ 1:28pm
Can you add compatibility for the new synth archetype added by Machine & Robot Expansion?
Deviant 24 Feb, 2021 @ 3:49am
2.8.1 - work
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 11 Feb, 2021 @ 3:36am
Updated, Let me know if it's still not working.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 7 Feb, 2021 @ 7:47pm
Sorry I haven't updated this in forever, Life™ happened. I'll try and get to it in the next day or two. I REALLY appreciate you working out what was wrong and how to fix it, since I haven't looked at it in forever.
Natsu_Zirok 7 Feb, 2021 @ 2:15pm
@Kreldin Foxclaw, please, delete line inherit_traits_from = { BIOLOGICAL } in LITHOID archetype
Natsu_Zirok 7 Feb, 2021 @ 2:13pm
@Mack Daddy, Work, work... but...
@Zelus, mod bug - lithoids gain Adaptive and Breeders traits
Mack Daddy 25 Nov, 2020 @ 7:30am
works 2.8.1
Misha 24 Sep, 2020 @ 1:26pm
It says this mod is outdated, and I seem to be having some bugs with the traits happen. Could you make sure it's updated to the newest version of Stellaris if you have the time? It's a very useful mod to have and doesn't add a bunch of unnecessary things like most other mods that include additional trait picks.
TTtime 13 Apr, 2020 @ 7:58pm
how did you set it for them not to spawn? I only know about using mods to do that. My problem is that I have a few 'premade' empires that come with a few mods that I'd love to disable
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 13 Apr, 2020 @ 7:16pm
Honestly? I'm not sure. I know it works on the random spawns, and any premade empires you create, but I'm unsure if the base premades would update for the new trait count. Personally, I have them set to never spawn, so I always get fresh empires.
TTtime 12 Apr, 2020 @ 6:58pm
would this work with the premade empires if they spawn in game or only randomly generated ones?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 11 Apr, 2020 @ 6:22am
Mod has now been updated!
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 6 Feb, 2020 @ 9:27am
The mod currently doesnt work, since I wasn't able to upload the fixes because of the changes paradox made. Yes, it would give the AI the extra perks, as mentioned in the description.

I intend to take another look at updating the mod once Federations releases, and i get back into the game.
Corpral_C 6 Feb, 2020 @ 9:15am
And does it give the extra trait picks to the AI as well?
Corpral_C 6 Feb, 2020 @ 9:14am
does it work with 2.5?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 1 Nov, 2019 @ 8:25am
Paradox and their new launcher have really messed up uploading mods with some changes to the necessary filestructure, and I'm stumped as to how to fix it, so I can't upload the fixed mod. I'll try and update this mod when I have the time to figure this out.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 28 Oct, 2019 @ 10:40pm
I'll have to get in and see if i can fix it over the next couple of days. Thanks for letting me know.
Veiden 25 Oct, 2019 @ 10:47am
Doesn't work with Lithoids.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 9 Aug, 2019 @ 7:27pm
I was using it earlier, and it was working fine for me. If you weren't seeing the extra trait picks in empire creation, the most likely cause is either a mod conflict, or steam not downloading the mod correctly.
boy i die!!! shit boy 9 Aug, 2019 @ 9:50am
Doesn't work.
Myrmor 11 Jul, 2019 @ 9:54am
Well, if you know how it works it is quite useful. It lets me know that certain mods have definitely been updated, and I simply have to check those with the warning to find out if they need updating or not. If it wasn't there, I'd have to go over every single mod I'm using after an update. When you're subscribed to 100+ mods, it takes a lot of work to do that.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 7 Jul, 2019 @ 11:48am
Stellaris's little red exclamation has no bearing on whether a mod actually works or not, it just looks at a single version number line in a separate file and if it's not the same as the current game version, it flags it.

In all honstey, the 'feature' probably causes more problems than it solves, and is an entirely useless feature. :/
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 7 Jul, 2019 @ 11:45am
The mod functions just fine, it's just the version warning that needs fixing, which you can ignore. I'll try and find time to increment it in the upcoming week.
Cooter's Step Daddy 7 Jul, 2019 @ 11:32am
Seems like nobody is updating these trait pick ones for the new patch. Have always liked yours, please update plox.
Vostok 1 18 Jun, 2019 @ 1:10pm
might as well just change it to 2.3.* since a trait overhaul is likely to get a new major version #(as in 2.4.*). saves a lotta trouble.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 7 Jun, 2019 @ 5:27pm
Yes, but likely not for a few days.
AprilsRealm 7 Jun, 2019 @ 5:01pm
is the compatible version indicator going to be updated?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 7 Jun, 2019 @ 2:26am
Much appreciated.
HinanawiTenko 7 Jun, 2019 @ 12:49am
Can confirm its still working as intended.
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 6 Jun, 2019 @ 3:09pm
Unless they changed how traits work, the mod should work fine. You can ignore the little red exclaimation point - that literally only checks for version number, and has absoloutely no indication as to whether the mod will function correctly or not. I have mods that are still set to version number '1.0.0' that work just fine, and always have.

To answer the question, yeah, I'll go in and update the version number, but I've got a lot else on right now, so it's not a priority.
AprilsRealm 6 Jun, 2019 @ 2:34am
Is this mod being updated for 2.3?
Kreldin Starfeather  [author] 2 Jun, 2019 @ 6:11am
@The 80's Guy
It's simply called '99Trait Picks', and can be found here.
