Servius  [author] 25 Apr, 2017 @ 5:06pm
Yay a relavent video.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 5:59pm
are not law majors/minors***
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 5:47pm
There are four types of CCLs and equivalents. Like you said, 90% of the people here are law majors/minors in college so confusing things with 20 different names for different licenses isnt necessary to the explanation for how licensing works for these things.
TrollBobMan 23 Apr, 2017 @ 5:38pm
If a game had a CC license assigned to it, then that game could be distributed for free and no one would ever have to pay for it.
TrollBobMan 23 Apr, 2017 @ 5:33pm
My point is that the original content creator has to use a CC license for one to exist. The public does not create CC licenses whatever they want. The original content creator decides to use one (or declines to use one). You are assuming that the original content creator decided to use a CC license. I do not believe that Disney would assign a CC license to any of its games or game assets.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 5:07pm
When you say og author do you mean Disney/EA or are you referring to someone/something else? Cause if its disney/ea its implied for all star wars junk on the workshop. Idk who else I would credit except maybe corra ashu which I will do happily.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 5:05pm
Another simple google search.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 5:05pm
A Creative Commons (CC) license is one of several public copyright licenses that enable the free distribution of an otherwise copyrighted work.

TrollBobMan 23 Apr, 2017 @ 4:02pm
Even if you had permission, you're not crediting the original author.
TrollBobMan 23 Apr, 2017 @ 4:01pm
Creative Commons licenses require licensees to get permission to do any of the things with a work that the law reserves exclusively to a licensor and that the license does not expressly allow. Licensees must credit the licensor, keep copyright notices intact on all copies of the work, and link to the license from copies of the work. Licensees cannot use technological measures to restrict access to the work by others.

Simple google search.
I seriously doubt EA give permission to anyone to use this content.
TrollBobMan 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:55pm
I'm not certain on your interpretation of a creative commons license, and I'm not a lawyer so I will not argue anything. One problem I see with your argument is that your content is not "unique" enough to warrant any protections such as that. Also, I highly doubt that you know which type of distribution licenses Disney used with EA. (I.e. whether a creative commons license was actually used, which I highly doubt Diseny would ever use a CC license for anything.) Or if you are just referring to CCL in terms of compliance copyright laws.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:23pm
Sorry not "The Doctor" the person doing the ports is actually "Doctor Jew"
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:23pm
The Doctor btw has asked to set these up as entities. He will be re-working his current jetpack system with these as the visuals. Unless someone asks to do something uniquley differnet from The Doctors work his upload will be the place to go for the Jetpacks.

@Everyone actually interested in the jetpacks being usable instead of the legality of a CCL XD
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:17pm
The only reason I want to set conditions and enforce them is because I would like to prevent everyone from downloading the same set of assets over and over again. Plus, Id also like to ensure that, in terms of an entity/weapon being created, the people that make them dont set them up in a way where they would not be compatible with each other or my own upload.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:15pm
If someone were to import Corra Ashus model again they would have a unique CCL created seperate from my own.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:14pm
In this case my upload is within a CCL that has its closest direct parented CCL being that of Corra Ashu, the guy the ripped the model from Battlefront. The one above that would be EA. The one above that would be Disney.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:13pm
When a CCL is violated and someone wants to dispute the enforcement of a DMCA yes it will end up in a civil court. However, that doesnt apply nor handle the other 99% of the process that comes with a CCL, how its created, how conditions are set, how a CCL handles grandfathered and child CCLs etc.
TrollBobMan 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:10pm
DMCA's are handled in civil court.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:08pm
A DMCA isnt handled in court.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:08pm
TrollBobMan 23 Apr, 2017 @ 3:07pm
@Servius
I don't intend on coming off as rude or whatever the case may be, but I was merely attempting to bring to your attention where you are inaccurate in your addon's description. If I am wrong, which I strongly doubt, then I will apologize. But, if you are not licensed under Disney, then there is no way in hell you could ever file a DMCA against someone for this content and win in court. Steam may have its own policies regarding reuploading another individual's content, but as far as a DMCA is concerned, you'd have no chance in hell of winning in court.
Servius  [author] 23 Apr, 2017 @ 2:23pm
@Props @Troller @Venator, the way it works is through CCL. I made a visual representation to explain this earlier and i guess, at this point, its the only efficient way of explaing to all of you how the CCL works and applies to content on the workshop. Its not like im spouting junk with no sources to back me up. Ill supply both knowledge bases and visual representation in a bit. Gotta make the image first.
Venator 23 Apr, 2017 @ 1:47pm
I agree with Trollerbobman.
TrollBobMan 23 Apr, 2017 @ 12:55pm
Great job porting these. I've been eagerly awaiting for someone to put these models up on the workshop.
Just curious, but how do you copyright something that you don't own the IP to? Disney would laugh their ass off if they saw that you stated that this content is copyrighted. At most, this "could" be considered fan art and would never pass as copyrighted material. But, seeing as the content was made by DICE, I'm not even sure if this is fan art. Thanks for putting these up on the workshop, though!
Gambit 22 Apr, 2017 @ 1:09pm
servius can you make it both battlefront 2 or the new one? like a certain key lets say f, lets you pick one then you csn use that one?
Justovia 22 Apr, 2017 @ 11:17am

Servius  [author] 22 Apr, 2017 @ 4:36am
Guys. "YES"
Szmaka 22 Apr, 2017 @ 4:31am
Btw is there any chance for a jumpack swep?
Lucifer der einzig Wahre 22 Apr, 2017 @ 3:03am
With the jetpack like in Battlefront 2 I mean that u can stay in the air and can fly down with ctrl and up with space.
Servius  [author] 22 Apr, 2017 @ 2:43am
Yuppers
Lucifer der einzig Wahre 22 Apr, 2017 @ 2:42am
And please if you create it create it that we can shoot in the air with the jumppacks.
Servius  [author] 22 Apr, 2017 @ 2:42am
Ye thats the plan my dude.
Lucifer der einzig Wahre 22 Apr, 2017 @ 2:41am
Very nice work. I have a suggestion for Entities. Is it possible to create "Jetpacks" like in Star Wars Battlefront 2 with the republic jettrooper?
Gambit 21 Apr, 2017 @ 11:07pm
Looking forward to the entities!
Servius  [author] 21 Apr, 2017 @ 9:36pm
Not really something I know how to do yet but id be willing to give it a try.
76561198140154232 21 Apr, 2017 @ 9:27pm
How about you port a map?? That would be much better :)
Szmaka 21 Apr, 2017 @ 6:54am
nice
ahnok 21 Apr, 2017 @ 1:33am
imagining having an entity, you can pick up and recieve and working jetpack from with these models on your pack is quite fascinating
Servius  [author] 20 Apr, 2017 @ 11:18pm
Doesnt matter how big the prop is. If someone uses them in pac they can scale them down and if someone uses them in blender they can scale them down there as well. For an entity it can also be scaled down.
It'sCamellia (Former MadKerbal) 20 Apr, 2017 @ 9:29pm
The rebel jetpacks are about .25% to big, haven't checked the Imperial one yet.
