Oh god yes they were! As a kid I would go by bus each weekend to the two amusment parks we had in my state and would switch off each weekend. I always stayed till the last bus ran so I could see them at night time.

Kind of why I enjoy looking at some of the youtube video's people make now a days of some of those parks still running in other parts of the country.

Me too. I remember being young and seeing all of the classic rides and buildings from the 40's & 50's still up & how mesmerizing the parks were at night. The parks used to be as beautiful at night as they were in the day time

I still remember the days of the drive-inn theaters and how places tried to lure the cars in before and after and buildings like this were not unusual to see on those strips of road.

So they syand out for me a lot.
