Interesting effect. I installed this mod first, placed a beacon, was dissapointed at the distance in which it appears, didn't uninstall it, installed the original mod and apparently the original mod picked up on the beacon placement, replaced the beacon object from the second mod with the beacon object from the first, which I can now see satisfactorily far away.

@ Wolves Hero (UK) , That mod Changes Core Files and still doesn't work for everyone. I'll stick with Personal Beacons for now.

This mod beacon way too short range can't see where my base.

I recommended waypoints mod could easy to see over 4000m away base

Good Mod! Cannot see it from very far but good enough.
Perhaps you could add an on/off timer like Auto Torches.
Also, was thinking... because you can see the Obelisks from across the map, If u can use the Obelisk asset and retexture it to look like the beacon, it might help be seen from across the map.

Nice mod, but unfortunately you can't see this one from very far away like you could the old one.

I am not familiar with the map overlay. Getting them visible from a distance is the last issue I am having

Maybe Storm over here can give you a pointer, the beacon in his pack is just a light however it is visible from extreme distances, not sure if he can advise you how to make a mesh visible from very far.

Updating my DevKit right now. My last obstable is the draw distance. No matter what I try for meshes and particles the beam disappears too early.

A cap of the old one would be great, as its particles are rendering right for me in the dev kit.

Hello, glad to see you take this mod and continue it ;). For now, I see 3 things if you can change in priority. The cylinder is too big, reduce it at half. The actual color is too bright, this cause freezes and slow-down the fps with litlle old graphics cards. A dark blue or a darkened color will resolve this prob, I hope. The third thing is the distance about were we can see the beacon. For me it disappear rapidly and not be visible so far. With the first we can see the beacon anywhere we are on the map. The height of it was like the game beacons. I have some captures with the first mod in my game if it would help you. I can up them anywhere if you want.

I did download Millow's but I can even get the particles to show up with his. I am working through just learning the engine right now. My local copy is paintable now to color change, so I just need to solve draw distance.

Hope you are able to get this to show across the map the way the original did. It can be hard to find your way in the dense fog at times. Good work so far though.

The lamp is more of a placeholder structure until everything else is working. Then I will change the mesh. Getting the particles right is taking a while.

Would be nice to have it as just a small item you place on the ground and as you say a much smaller cylindrical beam shooting up. Like a can you place on the ground with a laser coming up whereby you can choose the colors.
I also thought the original Personal Beacons model you place on the ground way too massive.
Will be keeping en eye on this.
