This project needs a complete revamp. I haven't forgotten about it, but it is not a huge priority of mine atm.

Before the DLC they replaced the default robotic/sythetic portraits. The file structure for the default pathways have changed radically since this mod was created. For those running an updated game, this does nothing. For those running an older version, it runs as described. I will get around to updating this at some point, but currently it exists for those running legacy versions.

Any news on this, so far I have never ever been able to use these portraits? Do they only apper when playing the normal tribe mob and then chosing the synth path later in game? How do you use these portraits in the current game?

@Shazzamx Thanks for the question. Prior to the Synthetic Dawn DLC, the Robot path was replaced with the first through the third models. The final model appeared through Ascension. Synthetic Dawn (and the update that released with it) appearse broken this mod, based on reports from others. I will soon adapt this mod to work with the DLC. I maintain it for those that are still using older versions for whatever reason.

How excactely do you get access to these portraits? Do you create a synth race and then the portraits should be available at start when you create your race? Or do they come when you ascend to synthetic beings by the perk? The description is not very clear (to me) so I would appreciate a bit of help. I have been subbing to this mod and the tribes of terra mod for over a year and have yet to see these pictures anywhere ingame???

Updated to 2.0.* apologies on the slow speed of the update. I updated the main mod and completely forgot about this one. It needs rebuilt to bring in the Synthetic Dawn changes, will do some really cool things. Someday, someday.

I will update this soon, however it hasn't yet been updated to work with the Synthetic Dawn changes. I have an entire folder of art for this project when I get the time to do that.

While the geth mod briungs up the synthetic category, I only get the first two pictures, and can't chose and traits for the race. (I run a lot of mods, might be other conflicts, but I think I did disable all other robot mods etc.)

Something is wrong indeed. If I install the outdated Mass Effect - Geth Species mod ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=718918906&searchtext=Geth ) it brings back up the Synthethic category when creating a new species. Maybe that helps you?

Woland, I'll have to do some digging. It's likely that Synthetic Dawn has completely revamped how synthetic portraits work. I'll pick up the DLC and take a look.

Thanks for the kind words. It sounds as if your problem is caused by a different mod or a possible mod conflict. This mod and the Tribes of Terra mod do not change any defines or do anything other than add static portraits.

Just want to say that I love your artwork for both synthethic and non-synthethic. I do have a problem with the synthethic version. After starting a game, after a while I will get an automatic game over. Say that my leader has died etc. Just to let you know.

These are not animated. I was hoping to expand the variety at each tier, but sadly the API that was intended for 1.6 that would have allowed it wasn't implemented.

Updated to be compatable with 1.6.*

I need to do some testing, but it doesn't appear that the synthetic API was opened up to allow for variety to synthetic portraits in the same way that custom races are, according to the patch notes. I will do some testing, but mod changes appear to be very small.

Yeah, another version I will implement will allow you to choose the synthetic pack as a custom species with the mechanical aesthetic, and retain it upon ascension.

I had considered it. I am still gathering more portraits to make it work. In 1.6, the devs are opening the API to allow more customization to synthetics. When I build this out to expand the variety for the 1.6, I will have enough portraits to make it worth it to make this into a standalone species mod.
