@LwFD that's because Viewmodels are altered through Theaters. Most servers prioritize their theaters over the client's

两角尖尖尤如利剑, You need to decompile the VPK, put it in your customs folder and edit it from there. You cant open the vpk up in notepad++ and edit it directly. Or atleast I dont think you can.

Dude, it is just amazing. But I have a question: what did you revise to realize this effect? I have tried to revise some parameters in the .vpk files for personal preference but it keeps raising error like 'unknow version XXXXX for vpk'. I hope you can help me if you are free. Thanks a lot!

yup, it definitely had something to do with the modload. i unsubscribed the mod, relaunched the game, resubscribed to the mod and launched the game and it worked. aparently its order wasnt being changed in the modload.

that, or i just got lucky. i'm not sure.

i dont think it has anything to do with conflicting mods, but i do think it has something to do with the modload; whenever this addon is loaded last, it works, but whenever it's loaded out of order, it doesnt.

@Toppest - you may still have conflicting mods subscribed in your workshop folder or your custom folder. Extract this mod to your custom folder (I know I said you shouldn't have to, but for this test) - then launch the game with the option "-noworkshop". Then you can see if this mod is truly broken or if there's something conflicting, and can figure out where to go from there.

@N8 yeah, but i havent been playing on any custom servers with any custom theaters. only NWI official ones which did work for my other friends, but not for me. did NWI change something in the theaters or am i just unlucky?

@Toppest - you shouldn't have to extract anything. It modifies one of the main theater files, so if you're playing on a server that either enforces consistency of that file, or overrides that file with its own changes (the armory, etc.) then those will always supercede this mod. That's what I've experienced it's "either/or".

this mod hasnt been loading into my game for the past few weeks, do you have any fixes?

i've extracted it into insurgency2\custom\ but it still refuses to load, even though there are literally 5 copies of the same mod inside.
i've extracted the theater files into the actual theater\scripts file but it still refuses to load.
i've unsubscribed, resubscribed to the mod and it still, refuses to load.
the only servers i play on are NWI Official servers and i've even checked it on solo MP and solo COOP, and it again, refuses to load into the game.

it's been driving me fucking insane, getting it to work, because at times it just randomly decides to work, and most of the time it just outright refuses.

He's right and i do believe the vpk itself is named root.vpk.

@Special_Ops_Pepe sometimes mods in insurgency dont load for some reason. A way to counteract this (maybe) is to just copy the .vpk of this mod from the workshop downloads folder into a custom folder inside insurgency2\insurgency and hope the modload gods decide that the mod should be loaded.

It doesn't, both overwrite a theater file that's only available to one addon per game, so it's either one or the other, not both at the same time

@pelvKeaux! You could try downloading it, extracting the contents of the .vpk, putting it into /insurgency/custom/highFOV/ although that may not work. Not sure which gets loaded first, the /custom/ folder or the /workshop vpks. In any case, it's worth a shot if you want to try having both.

@Scrap it changes the "fov_wpn_default" line for each weapon in the default_weapons.theater. I've it looks to add about 20 to the FOV of each. Some weapons look good some don't. Didn't seem to adjust the FOV of optics but maybe I missed that part. +20 is kinda high it looks more realistic but sometimes the left hand/elbow/forearm looks kinda funny. I've compromised on about +15 for most weapons but you can sub this and play around with the values yourself if you like.

@Scrap look at the contents of the mod it's all theater files... Modifications: Custom Theater seems correct to me...

Every single theater file needs to be modified? Shoot. I'm working on my own custom theater/mod and I was thinking about trying this but there's no way I can look through every single theater file. If you don't mind, what adjustments did you actually make?

Love this mod. Makes INS a whole lot more realistic. Without this, we're basically scrunching our arms against our bodies.

Yo. Thats almost perfect mod to me. I definitely will be having subscribed this mod for a long time.
I would go even step forward and increase it a bit more. I know you wont do so as for a workshop final version, to avoid clippings and errors, but if you be so kind and explain me on private what parameters you actually edited so I could experiment for myself and my private usage only. I would not share this knowledge to anyone else without your credit of course. Thank you for this beautiful mod anyway.

@NegroJoe123 this is an expansion of an earlier mod I made that increases the Viewmodel FOV. This increases it more, just sub and good to go (unless you have a custom theatre, in which case it might or might not work)
