@Renebey.com that is the point, to make the game challenging and to think of clever ways to defeat them. They are hulking mechanical monsters after all!

Bu modu uzun saatler boyunca kullanmıştım eski oyunlarımda. Modun tek sıkıntısı Ancient Ruinlerdeki security spiderlar aşırı güçlü hale geliyor. Devasa bir orduyla falan gitmeniz gerekiyor araştırmak için. Tek vuruşta kolunuzu veya bacağınızı koparıyorlar.

@Berg also, if I remember correctly, steam puts the mod files in a folder called workshop in steamapps, which is outside the game folder, so you will have to copy the mod files that in the mod folder of the game in order to keep the changes you make.

@Berg when I did this mod the crossbows were not a thing in the game. Sadly I can't change anything because I do not have the original files anymore and Steam can only update the mod if I had those exact files from that time (it's a really weird update system). What I suggest you do is edit the files yourself. It's not really difficult, just use the editor from the game files, and you even have an option that shows you exactly the files that I edited, so you don't have to search. I can't remember the exact settings since it has been so many years, but should be relatively easy to modify.

I love this mod and how security spiders are really dangerous now. I mean, they gotta be right? To be able to survive this long.

But please reduce the 100% AI Core drop chance on security spiders, I literally have more AI Core's than Engineering Research every time I reach the Late Game. I really like how the spiders are super strong now, but my saves are always flooded with so many AI Cores (Beside that, you can still kite them with crossbows in early game for ridiculous profits from the AI core). Honestly I would rather have them drop a CPU Unit. AI Cores are supposed to be the rarest item in the game after all.

It seems to stop working when I installed the genesis overhaul mod. the skeleton town used to sell AI/ancient science/engineering research. Now it looks like they have it on the first visit and never again. Do you have any recommendation? I already tried putting this mod at the end of the load order.

EvilNecroid Yup, you should find it there as well. Why would you want to break the balance of the game? AI Cores are a luxury, they should be difficult to get because it makes them so much more worth it. If you could get anything in the game easy then it becomes game breaking. If you really want those AI Cores, try to take down the Mechanical Spiders.

Norfuer I believe the game mechanics have change since this mod was made. Maybe you could import the files in FCK to update it so it can fix this issue. I do not have the game installed to test this out.

Still works for me, though over two in-game days, I've only had science books spawning in increments of 1, rather than stacks that I'd normally see.

jojobe I guess it was about time. This is a good thing, because this means they are making improvements to the gameplay systems. I will probably start playing again in a few month to see which mods I need to rectify.

Hydra Shaftoe, makes the loot so much mor worth and you don't charge into battle like crazy, use some range on them and try to make them chase you 1 by 1.

I like the tougher robots, but maybe a bit too tough. Full squad of high stat dudes got owned by two of them.

Why and ways I think this mod could be improved.
I dont want to be able to just buy them, I want to have to kill something or pillage some ruin. To kill a spider and get a core is acceptable but given you can kill them pretty easy even with your increased stats, because you can just kite them with archers. But I dont want to get cores to easy and in my opinion makes this mod broken in that regard, unless i had to kill several before I got just one core.
At low levels my characters who rob shops cant rob shops because some sentry bot that never sleeps stands on guard 24/7 and has a high level of detection etc, that removes robbing shops at low levels and in small shops even at high levels impossible, and this isnt even considering I was even after a core just in general and considering the damage you have them set to its certain death or loss of limb(s).
Your mod however and i guess this is how you like to play the game so each to their own I was just hoping for something differnt.

Asiz Killing spiders is optional, you can simply buy AI cores at shop if you get a lucky drop!

This was to be a good mod, to bad you ruined it with the spiders better you had kept the spiders the same and just gave them a small percentage to drop ai cores and remove the security altogether.

@Foxy Imported game many times, at ruins/labs etc to get engi reasech. I was on day 400 and had basicly been tro most. Thats when I started to Import game because I started to read about finding engineering reaserch. I had 1.. needed more. Books I can buy from vendors. (a few) Still books arent rare at all. AI-Cores more, but I had it easy getting them. But overall I like the mod. And I found non in ancient labs. Even tho my friend kept telling me there where many. After import on the other hand. (5 times) I found, and after that they started to "rain down on me" So I do not know why.. but I had it hard getting them lol.. Unlucky with RNG I guess.. I found AI-cores before Engineering research. I had 8 of them lol.. (before import) :KneelingBow:

Doiq Exactly, this is why I made them into killing machines. It felt so unrewarding to kill all of them just to search the place in the hopes of a stupid AI core. I don't know why you got that spike of AI and books, it's not related to my mod as the shop spawn is rare. I did not add Engineering Research because that would make exploring the map useless. Besides those are the seasiest to acquire as no one is protecting them and they have 100% spawn at Ancient Labs.

11 Skeletons vs 8 security Spider.
All Skeletons have 55+ stats. Master/specialist armor/weapons
They won, but hardly. (Also manuelly removed the IA cores so they "died")
If the Security spiders had come all at once.. it would have been a manslaugther! They hit like trucks now lol. But overall its nice, felt more rewarding. :KneelingBow:

I already made the game "alot" harder than it default is. I am scared what this might cause.
But over all the rest is cool.
Also add Engineering research? maybe make them "rare" drop. I found 30 IA cores before I found my first engineering research and 200 books.... Do not ask me why. :KneelingBow:

Gorloxx the spiders are not that strong, with a group of 3-4 people you can take them down. the only fustrating part is that they have an overpowered attack. And I made it to be sold globally at tech hunters because it would be a pain to go in the center of the map and wait with a character there until one spawns. This way you jave a chance for imediate access if you have the cats.

This mod is perfect besides the spiders. Seems like they should be seperate than the same. I think it would have been a better idea to just increase the price a lot and made the scrap king the only seller, but restock it.

Eh, I am gonna have to pass on this mod I'm afraid. I already have 5-10 FPS with 20 squad members and less population, can't afford any more entities around:-(
Great idea though and also not really game braking (the percentages seem fine to me).
But thank you for the effort, I love what you modders do, I still haven't understood why you do it, but I am grateful:-)

@stecph I suggest you have 10-15 hight level warrior to manage to defeat them, otherwise your best bet is to kite them 1 by 1, that is if you are lucky enough not to agro every last one of them!
