fuck this mode, shrapnel bomb ruined my fuckin run

crashed the game when my bomb was about to go a few weeks ago, i had shrapnel and holy bombs. Chest bombs chances seem pretty high, as i could easily get two or so chests a floor just from casually using bombs for rocks and secret rooms, also it works with Dr. Fetus.

This mod is a buggy mess and seemingly abandoned by dev

Any bomb i take just crashes the game. This mod is an absolute garbage.

in repentance all the new bombs make the game crash with or without mods (at time of writing)
i'd advise you to wait until the mods fixed to install it on Repentance

I'm still using Afterbirth+ without Repentance and sharpnel bombs work fine. Probably compatibility issue with Repentance then.

can confirm Shrapnel bombs crash on explode. then again, the mod hasn't been updated since 2017 so it probably, may, perhaps not be compatible with Repentance. Mod author should either update mod or say it's not REP compatible.

For consistency with other bomb items you should make them each give you five bombs upon pickup

Shame, I wish Binding of Issac Repentence was its own game, so many modders updating making mods uncompatible with Rebirth and many not updating leaving content only usable in Rebirth. Feel like the update has cut mods in half.

The chance of chests dropping is still too high early on. I've found it on floor 2 and by the time I got to the depths, I had at least 20 of every pickup, half of those gained from chest bombs.

I think a cool mechanic for spawning chests would be this: Chance = 10% for a chest per bomb. Every spawned chest reduces the chance by 1% (to 9, then 8 then 7 and so on) so you get a max of 10 chests. This counter gets reset every floor back to 10. (Not modified by luck since the chest drops already are affected)

@pimhazeveld Chest bombs don't work that way. Every time a chest is spawned, there's a 1/x where x is number of already opened chests, for another to spawn.

Meaning the chance of getting one decreases exponentially, so It's far from op or abusable with golden bombs

You gotta tone down the chest bombs a bit. It spawns a chest way to often for it to be fair. The chance should cap out at 5% or something because now it feels like 20-30% furthermore its extremely op with gold bomb of course. Which aren't that rare.

As much as I love this mod, I really don't think the Shrapnel Bombs should have a chance to shoot Chaos Cards. Without it, the item is perfectly well-balanced. It's more powerful than Sad Bombs, though it can't take on your tear effects. With it, Dr. Fetus runs pretty much can't be lost unless you fight Delirium. I was doing the Demo Man challenge and got the item from my first Devil Room. I lost count of how many Chaos Cards were fired, and one even killed It Lives! right around the start of the fight.

Any plans to introduce a config or make standalone versions of these bomb items? I absolutely love the shrapnel bombs but I'd rather not have the other bombs. If you don't plan to, no problem!

The problem with bomb items is that they're REALLY COMMON and MOST OF THE TIME USELESS. So, maybe not add this into the game?
