This would allow you to Grow regular pops + build robots + build pops! :D
This is *probably* one of them. Thematically, PDX seems to have repurposed the Clone Vats to do what I was already doing here with the Genomics Facility.
And buildable pop hacks aren't a thing anymore - robots are pretty well hardcoded it seems. End of an era, but I'm not bothered by it. :)
Any removal would be unintentional but unfortunately necessary due to the extra mechanical flexibility of being able to clone any species in your empire. I think for custom species, there would have to be a compatibility mod.
Is this mod compatible with V1.9? Or is there a seperate version, possibly?
I've made the change in a local copy myself and it's so far shown to be working. Even allows you to select with gene template to build from.
Keep up the good work.
My experience has been great, but you might want to increase the cost of the buildable clones. Maybe a LOT more food (like 250 each?). I know that buildable robots are similarly priced, but they don't reproduce, and that way the clones are still consuming a similar amount of food as to what it would take to grow an extra pop over time. Just my thoughts.
No changes, because you know, I didn't have time to change anything. So no promises that I won't at some point and mess up a game in progress. Not planning on it, just saying.
I'm going to give this one just a bit more thought and see if I can rework it slightly and add some features. There's a lot of new stuff that modders have access to (and some removed stuff), so let's see what I can do.
Patience, please. :)
They would have a problem with it, because religious people already have a problem with cloning in real life. Creating life being god's prerogative, and similar rubbish. Also, cloning throws up the question of whether clones have a soul, and if souls can be mass-produced, then the order of the universe is thrown into chaos, n' stuff.
Rather, I think the ones who would have a problem with allowing the government to just create people would be egalitarians, while autoritharians would have a problem with restricting the goverment's ability to determine their props.
