how do i change the heightmap size

Got the hight pixell too large error, the one that says that the map can´t be that large. How can I correct that?

How can i change experimental map size to true, as i can't find settings.lua file in specified locations founded in tutorials/forum posts?

@DeadAnt. Not too sure about the blah blah error, never seen that one before. As for the dumbass, well, i'll let you figure that one out all by yourself.

Fail... I get "hight pixel too large.. blah blah" error. If i start at anything after 1990 I get some other dumbass error.

@D7106 thanks you. Its quite a long process. First i have to locate a 'useable' Heightmap for real maps. Then i edit it using photoshop til i get it how i like it. This requires loading it into the game numerous times to see if it looks ok and more importantly, is playable. For the fantasy maps, i create my own heightmaps using either a program called 'world machine' or an online free site called terrain party.

I love your maps, please work on a map that includes most of Asia and its major cities and maybe one with the Middle East and Asia combined :D

@m0skito. Many cities are missing in all countries, not just Deutschland!!! Sorry but i can't put them all in.

viele Städte fehlen vorallem in Deutschland. Daher unbrauchbar die Karte...

@Kastalia. LOL. I added the global warming mod during the map creation.

This map seems to be quite far in the future as many islands disappeared under water. haha
I find this somewhat amusing and a little disturbing.

Try this location. Finder > Library > Application Support > Steam

Help Please! I'm running on an iMac with OSX El Capitan 10.11.6. Does anyone know how to get to the settings file to change the map size? I cannot find it! Really want to have a go at the bigger maps!

Make sure the game is completelty shut down before doing it. Check the file again

I changed experimentalMapSize to true but i still got the error message: Game initialization failed: Heightmap to0 large, Number of Pixels must nt exceed 16M.

@frydmarek. Go to your Steam folder > userdata > (your ID) > 446800 > local, open settings.lua and edit to make "experimentalMapSizes = true".

Could somebody tell where to find 'experimentalMapSizes = "??

Sorry but it's hard to please everyone. If i added in all the major cities it would end up a complete mess.
