Yeah i've heard about texture changing before, Neat thing, Just leaves me to think if you'll do any more cool models in the future!

Textures can always be changed... When I made this, someone had asked for one like this.

Allthough the textures are a little chunky i still love this! and i've been wanting to make a WW1 france poster for a while now

Of course the clear version looks better, but it's quality is low. Perhaps making it chunkier like the coat you used would make it look better, but for now you need to work on the textures.

The main question was, in the pictures I provided, was the change closer to what you expected. Like I said, the helmet and crown are paintable and the way that SFM applies paint compared to the actual game is different. I think that would be the closest I could get it.

No, my reaction would still be the same.

LOL, most likely would not have heard a complaint had I called it Шапка от калай , Right?

The runing theme of these items is that they are readable in english, thus making them easaliy understandable for the majority of the playerbase.
This on the other hand is 100% french and is harder to understand when compaired to the rest of the items. It also helps that they are memorable.

Uhm, but the Spy is French....It's no different than the Au Corant Assassin or the L'Etranger or the L'Inspecteur or the L'Homme Burlgerre or the Puffy Provocatuer.

The name is in french, anyone who doesn't know french (basically everyone) won't get the joke, it's also hard to pronounce and remember for non speakers, unlike The Tin Hat, which is much easier to understand and is a fitting name for a war time helmet.

Also, the cleaned up version is too low poly to make a difference.

I look forward to an updated cartoony version which fits TF2's artstyle, something like the Stahlhelm perhaps.

it's a paintable material, like the whole helmet is. I followed that polycount tut by swizzle (even grabbed his brush)". As there aren't solid colours under the paintable area, it is hard to get that tf feel in the paint because of the way SFM applies the paint.

I think you might need to learn how to texture for TF2, still not good enough though. But there's one tutorial I find useful polycount.com/discussion/73559/texturing-for-team-fortress-2-a-short-guide

Uhm, what's wrong with The Tin Hat?
CoffeeMaus 15 May, 2017 @ 1:15pm
Also consider a name change, maybe a cringe inducing puns like most TF2 items.
CoffeeMaus 15 May, 2017 @ 1:11pm
Good concept, but it's too dirty to fit TF2's cartoony artstyle.
MaxMartian 15 May, 2017 @ 7:56am
Here's my problem with the textures though, like they aren't fitting for TF2 enough, even it's bump-maps just goes to the realistic aspect. But the model seems to be cool though. This is just my feedback.

"Show me your back and I'll use it" Nice motto for a Spy.
