update to 0.7

Ah, I see. Yeah, sounds like you'd pretty much have to start almost from scratch. Shame, this mod did look amazing.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 16 Nov, 2019 @ 8:07am
Rewriting the SBC code for 25 items, basic re-export of 58 models into MWM objects would start it off. But then all the stonework mullions would have to be completely remodeled to use the new stone textures and fit the new vanilla block openings, and they all used a funky offset system so that the glass & stone could "mesh" together, which doesn't work right or at all in 0.7. It's kind of a dead-end.
Kill3rCat [1st FORECON] 15 Nov, 2019 @ 10:03am
What would be needed to update this mod to 0.7?
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 22 Jun, 2019 @ 4:35pm
Some people still liked playing the 0.6.4 version, as that version of the game is more stable for folks. So I'm leaving this as is for those folks. If you'd like you update it to 0.7 or have a friend who would like to, I'm happy to let you do it, just with a credit line back to this original mod.
billip 13 Mar, 2019 @ 11:42am
Hope you'll add a 0.7 update ...this mod was impressive !!!
ironsword40 14 Feb, 2019 @ 11:49pm
Are you going yo update this mods for the 0.7 update?
Дэвид 3 Jan, 2019 @ 9:12pm
Can you please tell me how to increase the drawing distance of these blocks?
Guardian50 11 Apr, 2018 @ 1:38pm
but the visual appearance is great :)
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 11 Apr, 2018 @ 1:29pm
Yeah. I never liked what I had to do to make those stone walls fit into the window frames. It always felt like it was just too tricky. Nothing about it is intuitive. And you're right, deconstructing them is a matter of luck. I put a lot of time into this mod but I've never really loved the result. :/
Guardian50 11 Apr, 2018 @ 1:26pm
nevermind, tx, but there is also another issue, the 3 small block are hard to deconstruct or destroy, they bounce to the ground and well they stay there, just for info
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 11 Apr, 2018 @ 1:21pm
Oh gosh I never updated the text after 0.6 came out, @guardian2013a. These are made at the kiln now, not the furnace. Sorry about that!
Guardian50 11 Apr, 2018 @ 12:37pm
the glass is not showing up in the furnace
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 6 Feb, 2018 @ 4:28pm
No those aren't clear. That was actually the glass from my "Casement Windows." And for some reason from that angle all the color got washed out and they looked clear.
Emperor_Peter 6 Feb, 2018 @ 4:17pm
I thought there is one that's clear? Like the second pic?
zigurat 6 Feb, 2018 @ 3:35pm
Maybe a separate mod with some sort of transparent glass panes?
zigurat 21 Jan, 2018 @ 4:09am
Hi, love your mod, could you maybe add another piece that is transparent please? Thank you!

I'd like to share Maxwell's "it's just a quick test build" :steammocking: with this mod.

A proper arch mod is desperately needed. I'll take a look at that discord page, see what i can come up with. Gothic was in full swing in the 12th and 13th centuries, so idk why the dev's haven't gone pointy arches/vaults on us yet...Prague has some of the craziest gothic buildings in Eruope afterall lol

Maxwell 22 May, 2017 @ 11:52am
Alright, thanks, it was just a small test, something far bigger is coming soon...

Okay I see, hope you'll find a way.
With saturation I actually just meant making all colors a little bit more grayish
so it goes smoother with the surrounding architecture.

Whatever... keep up the good work!
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 22 May, 2017 @ 4:44am
(Continuing from below) ... And if I reduce the brightness when they're not lit, they don't become bright -when- lit. They're not reading the surrounding light situation right for some reason. The problem of the two stained-glass windows "showing through" each other when in alignment is also frustrating, and seems to be a glass-code issue. Like you say, the casements don't seem to do it, so it seems to be related to the opacity of the glass. I keep trying to find the right balance, to make these panes look their best. I agree, with them being so bright when there's no light, something doesn't quite look right. But then when I make them less bright, or less colorful, then that ruins the effect in other situations! I'll keep working at it. I really appreciate your time with them.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 22 May, 2017 @ 4:44am
Heya GeSp.|Maxwell. WOW. Your work is incredible, and I love how far you've taken these panes and stone pieces. You've really pushed the edge of what can be done with them and it looks amazing. And thank you so much for your well-thought points. I've been struggling with all of the above. The game's code right now seems to be lacking one key thing with glass -- true reflectivity. It's faking it a lot, and that means that some things don't seem to work exactly the way glass does. So, for example, with the glass glowing at night and with the panes being too colorful: if I reduce the saturation, or even if I reduce the lightness, either of those choices, the panes lose their opacity and become much more transparent, which loses the stained glass effect under a lot of angles/circumstances...
Maxwell 22 May, 2017 @ 3:12am
Nice mod, I have been waiting a long time for something like that!

I built a small church for testing purpose and found some things which i would like to share with you though.

1. In daytime it looks pretty neat, but in my opinion it is a bit too colorful, I don't know what others think about it, but I guess decreasing the saturation of the glasses would make it much more beautiful.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=930732255

2. The glass is glowing at night even with no lightsource.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=930732284

3. Looking through the windows, you can just almost see the same kind of windows behind.
It looks a bit strange like a kind of wallhack.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=930732222

The casement windows don't have that problem though.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=930732240

I guess 2 and 3 can be improved by changing the opacity. (maybe a bit more transparent).
Bad Humour 20 May, 2017 @ 7:16am
@STORI3D PAST Productions yeah I tested it didnt work out so well, oh well thanks for the answer tho.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 20 May, 2017 @ 5:57am
Heya Bad Humour. Yeah a true, proper large-block arch mod is desperately needed. My arches probably won't do what you're looking for. Because of their small hitboxes, they probably won't be connectable across long lengths. And they're "small-block" items, meaning that they don't actually have any structural integrity -- they can't carry the load of large walls, and don't behave the same way the big building blocks do.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 20 May, 2017 @ 5:56am
Glad you like, Mind Castle! And thanks much Emperor -- if you want to get into modding, check out the chat site "Discord." There is an active group there for Keen Software House, with specific pages on modding (art, programming, general). It's a great resource.
The Mind Castle 20 May, 2017 @ 12:55am
Oh gods yes, that's what I was looking for!
Emperor_Peter 19 May, 2017 @ 3:57pm
Haha, great minds think alike!

I just wish I could figure out how to mod blocks in this game...I'm dying inside not having gothic arches for everything lol

Keep up the awesome work
Bad Humour 19 May, 2017 @ 8:37am
I have been waiting for a very long time for an arch mod as I was going to build something like a large arch bridge spanning between 2 mountains. I guess the mod wasnt designed for this kind of use, my question can these arches be used without windows and how does the structural integrity work with this mod?
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 19 May, 2017 @ 5:21am
@emperor_peter It was really interesting reading your post because I had the same exact conversation in my head earlier. I thought, "Man, huge central rose window with the radiating tracery." Then I thought, "Hmmm.... blocky limitations in game. Would have to divide it up into quadrants..." And then, for real, I thought, "that probably means including the glass and the tracery together." All 3 same thoughts! So yes, definitely up for that idea. It's something I really want to do, if I can figure out how to make it versatile enough to work with the system in place. Got more thinking to do on this one.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 19 May, 2017 @ 5:19am
Thank you much CESky! High praise! Teutschmeister, do you mean you would like to see stained glass windows in my other "Casement Windows" mod? I have been thinking about how to expand that mod.
CESky 19 May, 2017 @ 12:54am
Stori3D, this Mod is insane! Beautiful! :steamhappy:
Terrorhörnchen 18 May, 2017 @ 8:20pm
is it possible that you make the same windows only with colour glass without crosses, monks or other christ things?
Emperor_Peter 18 May, 2017 @ 7:16pm
This is awesome!!! I can't wait to build some chapels with this.

I have a suggestion for an "expansion", though i'm not sure if it's possible - along the line of those rosettes, large rose windows, such as found in Notre Dame...the problem is the mullions/tracery radiating out from the center...

I don't have much modding experience with ME, but the way blocks are currently set up, i'm thinking the only way to do it is make a quarter circle that can then be rotated to create the finished product, meaning the glass would probably have to be part of the window itself, in order to maintain the radiating lines?

Just a thought. My degree in medieval history is yapping in my ear that i need to go build fun things with this mod RIGHT NOW hehe :)
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 18 May, 2017 @ 12:19pm
Hey cornuscopia! We're thinking similar things. I want to add more saints and scenes. And really I would like to add something to that central rosette, the circle, that has its own set of scenes specifically made for it. Lots to do!
Maison De Cornusiac 18 May, 2017 @ 12:07pm
Wanted to add church windows with stain glass motives in my "proposal list", now I can skip that. Stori3D was faster...
If you look for expansion ideas, what about changing motives... saints... bible scenes... I can look for some and post them on the forum for suggestion.
STORI3D PAST Productions  [author] 18 May, 2017 @ 7:13am
Thanks much, Speedy Builder & wolfgar! Yeah, lots of work trying to optimize it and get all the pieces to fit right. I'm really happy with it though. Already have some ideas for an expansion. After a little breather :)
wolfgar7474 18 May, 2017 @ 6:32am
Nice! Thanks STORI. I'm sure this took a long time.
ForestBrother 18 May, 2017 @ 6:02am
Nice! :D
