@Ridesdragons Good to know the issue is gone. I'm not sure why the hero ship is always considered military seems odd to me too.

alright, retested it with the new patch and... I guess the issue was fixed in the latest patch. on that note, I tested a few other things, too.

so exploration ship with no weapons is allowed through just fine. good.

exploration ship with weapons is viewed as military. which is stupid, because pirates. it's weird, because the Lost Horatio doesn't seem to be included in this, even though it has weapons. couldn't test it, but the default scout ship may also be viewed as civilian, even though it also has weapons.

exploration ship w/ no weapons and hero with weapons = military.
exploration ship w/ no weapons and hero w/ no weapons = still military. apparently scouting heroes are militant.

@Ridesdragons The Sophon free move was change from +4 to +2 in the lastest patch so that would have been when it updated for you,
I did all my testing in the latest update so that might explain the diffrent outcomes.
So just to clarify are you still getting the issue or has it been fixed?

I should note that I had your mod installed yesterday, and uninstalled last night. unknown to me, there was an update to the game. that said, I'm unsure when the update came into effect, as I had put the sophon free move on when it gave 4 movement, and after reloading an autosave (or maybe after eating dinner and relaunching the game) the future updates of my ships only got 2 movement. I started wandering through peace-time territory during this period. as even the lost horatio ship could move through enemy territory even though it's armed, the update might have fixed how exploration ships are viewed by the AI.

however, there is no mention of that in their changelog. that might not mean much, as the earlier versions of the game had issues with boreal, jungle, etc, which weren't gaining the bonuses they were supposed to (no fertile, atolls had no temperate, etc) but the changelogs never mentioned they fixed it

while the mod was installed, even ENFER frightened factions I was at peace with. after uninstalling the mod, ENFER can survey their planets in peace.

sounds like to me that whatever you did to allow all ships to use probes also made AI view probes as military equipment

even ENFER, which by default carries no weapons and cannot be modified caused strife.

I'm currently playing a game without this mod installed, and lost horatio, which does have weapons, is not causing any issues. about to send in other scouts to see if they also don't cause any issues.

no, I didn't. it was just a regular exploration unit, with nothing but the sophon free move and titanium probes

@Ridesdragons My experience has been that The AI determines if a fleet is military is if there is any ship (this includes hero ships assigned to the fleet) that has weapons (possibly if it has Defences IDK)

Edit:
I've Had a look into it and when I use a Exploration Type ship with no weapons on I get no AI complaint But if I give it a weapon then it complains. Any Military (Not Colonizer/Explorer) type ships even when unarmed will also cause a complaint.
Did you have a hero attached to your exploration fleet ?

@CyRob that's cool and all, but I can confirm that the AI doesn't care about the ship role type. sent in an exploration ship armed with nothing but probes and an engine and almost had a war declared on me for "invading their territory with military vessels". it was purely an exploration ship with no weapons on it. so whatever role it has, the AI doesn't seem to care.

I was actually beginning to wonder if this mod was what was causing them to treat my otherwise-civilian-ships as military ships. a search online shows that if you unequip weapons from your scouts, the AI are supposed to treat them like civilians. so say some people anyway. I also could've sworn I was able to send my scouts in their territory before adding this mod, though that memory's foggy.

maybe changing it from "classmoduleexplorerandheroshiponly" to "classmodulesupport" is treating it the same way equipping a weapon on the exploration ship is treated?

@CyRob Except from what I've noticed, the game doesn't treat exploration ships as civilian ships. Even the stock vodyani leechers can lead to a cold war if one's careless.
@Torrent I've tried that, yet I prefer wolf-packing my scouts throughout the frontier. (pers pref)

exactly. its about having the freedom to construct ur own ships instead of being limited by what the devs think should be on which ship.

@Torrent Thats probably the reason why the devs decided to lock probes to civilian ships but this mod is not about asking the devs to change their decision but rather to give people the ability to use probes on military ships if they want to.

I think you're normally just supposed to incorporate a scout into your fleet or just having one tag alongside your fleet for scouting purposes instead of needing something like this. Usually only take a turn to build and move faster than most ships so they can just be thrown around at random.

love it. i find it weird why some modules are locked for only small ships. like the devs thought we only would play around 50 rounds a match.
