Again I would love to see someone make a mod like this that directly accessed all mod content and allowed you to set what was available bc even with this mod if you have some crazy mods its like oh yeah... heres 5 things that you cant use but here it is tempting you when you stop chasing yourselves around with sticks

Brilliant! Thank you! Now if I knew how to use harmony I would make a mod that allowed you to disable any mods content unless it was researched.

Oh, you want to remove starting techs.
Well if you go to: ...\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods\Core\Defs\ResearchProjectDefs
You can edit those .XML files and remove the tags "<li>TribalStart</li>" and/or "<li>ClassicStart</li>" from each tech you don't want Tribals/Colonists to have. Assuming you play on steam which will validate its files and redownload anything you edit, you must instead make a copy of the core files into a new folder (which you place in the Mods folder) above Core, and edit those, rather than directly editing the core.

no... its not possible. If you start as new arrivals or tribal you will have their imbedded tech tree.
Unless you start with a Pre-industrial tribe mod that adds a new faction. Basically what Im asking for is a mod that will allow you make a custom faction so you only start with what you want. Its in its essence the same as this except customizable. You cannot at this time (unless I am missing something serious here) select an option to start WITHOUT tech when you add edits to your scenario.

is it possible to make a tool that would allow you to select what tech your scenario starts with exactly so if you have a mod that adds something that isnt researched you can disable it until a certain tech level is reached? like a pre industrial start. I just hate that the starting factions always have content from mods available without researching it.

@Space Dandy It is still tedious to do it every time you start a colony, except you do a custom scenario.
Also, once you used the dev console, you'll want to always use it... it's a curse.

would it be possible to just make an editor that allowed you take away the techs we are offered. So when making a scenario we could customize it a bit more... it would have to be able to self patch so mods wouldnt accidentally add stuff?

thanks. :) i DID find it odd how it was SO easy to make HUGE very effective solar pannels, but making a pegleg or carpets where something you ha dto LEARN! XD

I already manually add about 6 researches in the scenario creation for exactly this reason.

Well I would not said this mod is op. It makes perfect sense quite frankly.
