Where is the pony truck you mention? You say it's articulated, but I have yet to see it and it stays forever rigid for me.
Another thing I'm wondering about is why there is a hinge instead of a coupling between the units. It doesn't flex sideways.
But other than those two things, I like this. It's the largest (so far) in the way of Steam locomotives and should be, as the Challenger was the second only to the Y6B/A and the Big-Boy...
