this is a very old mod, and like my other mods, likely won't work after all the changes since made.
It's largely not something I think is needed, given that a ton of other tools can now harvest those items fairly well (pick for one)

This isn't working for me at all. When I try to hit the corpse with daggers, I just do the typical fight animation and don't hit the corpse at all. I can't seem to harvest anything with them. Any thoughts?

Updated to be more compatable, should now work with Precision pickaxe and meatless spiders. no longer has a penality to meat gathering.

Updated to allow daggers to harvest fur, and x0.1 feral and 0.1 savory flesh (as they drop that now for some reason), for better spider harvesting, also removes edits to spider's loot table.

basically takes some of the stuff that this mod does but applies it to the pickaxe instead, and also doesn't interfere with the spider loot table, so should be more compatable

I know I didn't edit the cobra venom drop rate, but I do recall that being adjusted in one of the patches awhile back, that might be the cause. also I doubt it could have that affect when not active, though I have had something like that happen before, as a different mod seemed to have allowed me to edit a setting that is currently only partly implemented.

Awesome! By the way, it also affected the vanilla game drop of the cobra venom. At least, after farming vanilla I never...literally never...saw a cobra venom drop. After removing your mod (for the spider egg reason, not the venom), I saw drops. The cobra venom is still sometimes horrible in drop rate when harvesting, but it did seem to be affected by your mod.

If/when you get the time, you might want to check this as well. Keep up the good work! It's much-appreciated.

Thanks Gravelstein, once the update on the 16 of August is released, I'll work on getting another version (pending whatever changes are made) that won't edit the spider's loot table. (I can do that by making daggers harvest 1/10 of normal spider meat) not quite the same as zero spider meat, but it can lower it drasticly without touching the spider's loot table.
Of course, if the spiders are edited in the update, changes will reflect that.

@z999z3mystorys - I really enjoy your mod. However, I also use the Homebrew+ mod and this causes a conflict. When using this mod it prevents spider eggs from dropping. Spider eggs are needed to make the Spider Corral, so with this mod it is impossible to get a spider corral.

This is a nice mod, though. I really enjoyed using it. Sadly, I can no longer use it due to the conflict, but for those that don't use Homebrew+ I highly recommend it.

Updated, seems the default bonus daggers get to harvesting hide was reduced, so in an attempt to try and keep the changes minimal, I've changed the hide gather rate to match that. Let me know opinions on that if you have any.

I'll look into it, as far as I can tell, the only change to daggers was to allow harvesting of reptile hide, and that was already included in this mod. I'll double check however to make sure things still work correctly.

ok. I'll try a few more spiders then. I've used the dagger on 1, hacked at it 6 or 7 times without getting anything and then assumed it didn't work. will test again tomorrow and write back if it still did not work. only mods I have that influence tools is 1 mod to increase durability of metal tools and 1 mod to increase harvest rate of bark from trees.
as a side note: I had the meatless spiders mod before (somewhere in the middle of my mod list) and it did not remove meat from spiders either, so maybe the problem really is my load order.

for spiders it won't harvest silk or ichor every time, I wanted to ahve a minimal inpact on overall balance of the game and it's resources so I tried to keep the drop rate of ichor and such about the same (or rather the same bonus you get from using the correct tool for harvesting anything else, double) you may need to hit the spider a few times before you get the ichor or gossamer, but it should be there.

as for load order, ideally at the end would be best, but it'll conflict/override any other entries other mods do to spider harvesting drops, and dagger harvesting effects. so if you have another mod that edits those, it could conflict.

a dagger made before or after the mod is installed shouldn't matter.

playing in singleplayer. my dagger (crafted before this mod was installed) does have no effect on spiders. do I need to craft a new dagger or does this mod be in a specific position on my mod list?

@ExoReaper. I don't understand why there would be an objection to this. It makes daggers do what they are supposed to and currently don't. You would prefer to get bone from insects and hide reptiles?

Thank you for making this mod! I've waiting for some time to be able to use the dagger on more stuff :)

I don't know if this is out of the scope for this mod, but I'd *love* to see the dagger working on the "banana" trees/plants to gather fiber more easily!

Those are the best source of fiber in bulk, and already respond to the other tools and give fibre for pick, pickaxe and hatchet, but they only last for a couple of hits with them... so I thought it more be benefical to have the dagger to give 2x or 3x more fiber to easy the fiber farming at end game, which to be honest of the most annoying part of the game :)

In any case, whatever your anwer may be, I thank you in advance since I'm already enjoying the mod to its full!

I see you took note from the tool idea. This really does give incentive to use daggers. I just wish this was something funcom would integrate into the game. Great job here. :2016villain:

A replacement/upgrade to my meatless spider mod, please don't use both.

makes it so that Daggers now harvest ichor, silk, and Reptile hide

when using a dagger or spiders you will no longer get any meat at all, but can still get meat from them (if so inclined) by using other tools.
