so do i need all of long war 2 or just the classes (as that's what i'm looking for i have the lw2 class mod and want to be able to get the gts perks but since lw2 classes replace vanilla the other wotc version has those permanently locked)

Problem, I know this is an old mod but I'm playing it on LW2 and god help me if every other time I put a tank into cover the game crashes. Only ever the tanks, only ever when i end their move action in cover

thanks for your feedback. 25% seems low but it procs very often if you get shot by many enemys. Maybe I increase to 30 but 50 would be to overpowered in my opinion, as the tank also ignores the reflected shot. you can change this percentage by your own in the ini files. And you should not put the tank in cover if you want him to tank. if you use abilities like here i am make sure the enemies have line of sight to him.

Personally I think the class is too weak.
Some of the high-rank abilities are simply too weak.
Gunner sergeant perk: reflection field: 25% reflect dmg? no one would take that because it is only 25%, no one wants to rely on a 25% in xcom.

The modder Claus, who did the ADVENT Pathfinders mod is going to impliment a shield as equipment that pairs with primary pistols. When it's released, I think your class would be perfect for it.

yes it will fix it but you have to start a new campaign only with the LW2 tank class.

I believe you're not supposed to use the LWPP if you have LW 2 installed. I think they woudl conflict, so in that sense you would loose the existing tank.

yes like other soldier classes they can carry rockets with the exo suit for example and the tank can use heavy canons.

As long as you do not remove the LWPP mod it will not ruin anything. IF you add the LW2 mod its like adding a new class to your game. you will have two soldier classes with the same name.

its because in the LWPP version you get only the ablative shield hp when the soldier has no other shield hp from other sources. this is in LW2 rarely the case because of the ablative armor every soldier has. I am not exatly sure what will happen when you switch but theoretically the game handles it like a new class mod.

so i have the LWPP version of this and it works in my LW2 with no issue except whenever i use team shield it only shields the tank and rarely one or two others. everyone else (yes theyre in the radius) isnt shielded. is this bc i use the LWPP version, and if it is will it hurt my game to simply switch from LWPP version to LW2 version, or is this just a bug?

no tick effect damage or damage over time should not be reduced if he is burning or poisened.

I got it on the second slot . had quick study so 4 days too and yea i picked up cool under pressure so he can preety much 100% his overwatch shots :D apart from those sneaky ones with lightning relfex/shadow step . starting to run into a few now.

then you were pretty lucky. it can only proc on awc offensive second or third slot. In which of them did you get it? and how long was the training time? maybe i restrict it only to the third awc slot. the cool thing is it does also combine with cool under pressure.

Damn just picked up Standby for my overwatch ranger . Thats preety much rangers whole sergeant line cool under pressure, aggression and center mass combined into one skill for overwatch shots :D . Can't wait for killzone murder spree lol

I'm going to give this a shot, sounds like a good idea that is refreshing. One suggestion would be to have a close up picture of the Tanklin in the preview so people know what it looks like. You can kind of see it in some of the pics, but only if you are looking for it.

I am a little torn about this class. I finally finished a Long War 2 campaign and I really liked the concept of this class. Sadly the pre fire and revenge talents didnt always work (not your fault) and I was using another tanky like class already. Overall I am still giving a Thumbs up and recommending for those who want a tank class that doesnt use melee and tries some new things. Thanks again for making this mod and keep up the good work :D

This is almost assuredly my fault, but for some odd reason the Tanklin appears as 343 Guilty Spark, and I can find no obvious way to change it to the normal skin.

Hmm are you sure? The description of Revenge is kind of different and I translated the same way. The last line says: "Does not work, if this soldier has also the RETURN FIRE ability."

yes they can also combo on the same enemy. one shot before the enemy is shooting and one shot after he is shooting (as long the first shot was not a kill shot). this will also combo with normal overwatch shots. Sentinel for example does only combo if you set your guy on overwatch as the description says.

@farkiller: you can add in the classdata.ini file of the tank class a line: +AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon, WeaponType="sword"). Then he can use swords but the abilities which need a drone will probably not work. @touka: the tanklin is basically the same as the gremlin but a other model. it has its own weapontype so currently you can use it only with tanks. but you can add one line in the classdata.ini file of the class you want to use it: +AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon, WeaponType="tanklin").

I think it is class locked although you can build the upgraded versions of TANKLIN, or you are to build it to get it. The upgrade goes at the same time as the Gremlin's research. The 3D model of the drone however is brand new and quite good.

Honestly, this class is just great for being one that uses the Shieldbearer groundpunch Animation.
