ANOTHER SOLUTION - WANDERING
Sometimes when construction bots are wandering it's because of the building priorty, but I discovered that it MAY BE coused bo roof area. I have a really big base inside of a mountain so there are many "discovered areas" which needs to be roofed. So the solution is ths: once your roof is build use the "igone roofing area" button.
After I did that robots stared to work again.

I got the wandering issue a while ago and found that the bots are linked to colonists work tables somehow. If you increase building priority in the work tab for your colonists, the bots start building again. Not sure what caused this though...

I managed to resolve my construction robots 'wandering' - someone mentioned before about roof building and it was linked to this... there was a roof over water that could not be built so after clearing this the robots came back to life and stopped wandering... hope this helps anyone else

Did anyone get to the bottom why all of a sudden the construction bots just start 'wandering'? i tried changing the construction priority mentioned below but nothing?? whatever setting i have the construction bots now dont do anything... any ideas anyone?

Confirmed that the construction bots are malfunctioning and not building.

after a while mine just get stuck "wandering" near there charging point and they dont do anything. these mods are amazing i jsut wish they weren so buggy

I found a solution:
It seems that the priority of the colonists overrides the construction bots orders.
If you set construction priority to 3+ they don't work.
Just set priority back to normal.

Hey, thanks for the mod.
I had some issue, at first they worked perfectly but after a while (and with a big designation area) they stopped working. All sites have enough materials and are just ready to start construction but robots are not going.
If it may help I have the Job Splitter mod, may that be the cause?

Can we get a Guard robot? Could look a little like it has three legs that roll two arms where one shoots rockets and one with minigun... Size of a bear maybe.

Creator of another robot here.

Farming robot is impossible at the moment, it's the same strange bug that prevents this one from being able to build roofs.

The problem lies in Base Robots, which hasnt been updated in over 3 months.

All my constructino robots are refusing to do any work they just wander around unfinished constructions without doing nothing about them...

maybe it can't build a fence am not sure, there seems to be some tasks that it can't do like building a roof. This also happens to be part of the Base Robots mod so I cant do much about it in this mod.

@Gook, They fail to do roofs or to remove them so they wander around until a colonist completes such task. Try to call them back to base and activate again.

Ok so the construction robot will work but only when colonist are around and alos doing work. I have a base of just robots and every other robot doeas there job, but the construction robot. Any clue why that is?

thats because the bots are technically still people but just use a different race. they will also attend weddings.

honestly i wouldn't mind a bot that does joy activities lol. image bots playing poker or horseshoes :)

@Eternal Wait: I restricted the skill needed to to the training job to 1-19. So, if the robots have 0 skill in something, they won't train. Thanks for the additional ideas.

Yeah I do not understand how that mod triggers them. Anyhow, you can use enhanced crafting mod (or similar ) that enable you to assign a specific pawn to do the bill. This will keep the robots from the console.

Another option is to zone them out from the console.

someone posted this fix to dissamble robot "corspes" (disabled) after they die.

go to AIRobot_Destroyed.xml and at the bottom after cost list add

<thingCategories>
<li>CorpsesMechanoid</li>
</thingCategories>

this should allow the robots to be dissasembled at a machining table.

@TSense, I tested other type of robots but they do not work properly. Cutting stone is a crafting task and robots can do it successfully but when you try to craft an armor they will go and attempt crafting the armor and then fail and wander around. Gardening and farming also something they fail. I tested a medic robot I do not remember if it had issues. I guess I might release it and people test it :)

well i wasn't looking if someone made a roof in the moment it started working, so i guess it could be true. Whatever, it's working now and it's awsome.
Does Base Robots only have 5 robot mods for it or am i missing something? I have hauling, hunting, construction, cleaning and mining.
They are all very nice, thx for that, but iam not able to automate stone cutting as it seems

TSense, yeah they can be weird sometime. I know they fail with roofs so when they wander around I get a pawn to do the roofs and when the roof is complete they start working again. Maybe in your case someone did the needed repairs in the 4th day.

tried that, with no effect.
However, i kept the robot running after i gave up on it. A few ingame days later it started working like hoped. It also keeped working like i wanted after that. Sooo... 4 days warm up time?

@TSense, if it start to wander around have it called back to the base and activate it again. There seems to be some tasks that make the bot wander and stop doing any task (for example building a roof ) maybe reparing a wall causes it to stop working.

Does repair walls that took a bullet, but only wanders around after that.
Tried taking everyone else off the working job, turned hauler robots off, making small workzones, checked if needed stuff was in stockpile zones. Nothing.

i dont know how good it will be possible, but an nice idea. Something like in modoptions to allow/disable the construction of quality items (like beds, chairs etc...) so they only will build walls and when fixed (<- i think it was brocken for a time dont know at the moment because i dont want them to build my quality stuff ^^) floors and stuff

An easy fix, provided theres no pesky mountains to roof over, was to cover the job site in the unroof order, thus preventing roofs from being built in the first place. That and limiting their allowed area to only the stockpile and build area.

@Whoopartycannon, it tends to wander around when there is a roof job as it should do it but it currently bugs out and does not do anything until someone else do the roof. You can try to recall it to base then activate it again just to see if it will work again.

It worked really well for a while, but now the bot is just wandering aimlessly even though there are blueprints for things that need to be built.

Base Robots is nice and simple, I like it, I could attempt to fix its bugs, but my last experience with C# was a long while ago. So I would probably just end up just breaking it completely with my "fix".

@Communist_Satan, Yeah I noticed there are few tasks that are not properly handled (Crafting and Gardening) are not possible too. I hope Base Robots continue to improve. The other option is to rely on 'Misc.Robots' instead of 'Base Robots' but I kinda got used to using the Robots tab. What do you guys think ? any ideas ?

After looking into it further, this looks like an issue with Base Robots, doesnt seem like theres anything wrong with your mod.

They are also unable to smooth and remove floors. No other mods installed when I was testing this, error thrown goes as follows: "RimWorld.WorkGiver_BuildRoof provided target (113, 0, 134), Map_0 but yielded no actual job for pawn Construction Robot. The CanGiveJob and JobOnX methods may not be synchronized."
