It seems like my game fails to load in the model and/or the scripting, everything else works fine (I can even load it under a different model but then it still won't move), any idea what I could do about this?
SigmaSix 28 okt, 2022 @ 21:35
Is there any way I can make cars of my own using the same script, just with a different model? I can get the gist of attaching the camera, but not able to control the cars outside of turning left or right with them once I do this.

how does it work? i cant get it to work for apparentt reasons
shadowyblade 30 apr, 2022 @ 22:56
Works perfectly as advertised. Thank you so much. Do I have permission to use this car in a workshop item of my own? I want to use it as one step in a rube goldberg machine I have planned out.
Coping Kobold 28 jul, 2021 @ 11:07
@ZenyphL that's not the only reason. For some reason the car isn't detecting some custom tables as "Ground", in which case floor detection has to be disabled for the cars to run. Take lallander's large hexagon table for example.

warnig! Breaks if tries to apply this to miniatures!
pato 27 okt, 2020 @ 14:10

dosent work
ZenphyL 7 jul, 2020 @ 14:52
i've discovered why many people have problems with racing workshops: you MUST set physics to FULL, anything else doesn't work, if you add that to your instructions ratings gonna improve, cheers and thank you for doing this script, you deserve much more then 3 stars

It's working for me? I've sent you a friend request maybe we can figure out what's going on.
Assassin Fennec 1 jun, 2020 @ 8:37
it does not make any sense to me how do i get this to work pls do a video cus this is confusing
Markimus  [skapare] 4 apr, 2019 @ 14:21
You can change a few variables at the top of the script, including the speed of the car. Try playing around with "MoveMax", "AccelerationSpeed", and "TurnSpeed".
Markimus  [skapare] 4 apr, 2019 @ 14:09
That's a cool idea, though automatic scalextric cars is outside the scope of this project I'm afraid. :)
You're welcome to try and modify the code to make it yourself.

I have played with the bases but with these digital bases can you assign speed variations if you can then you can weight the race car performances. What I envision is let's say 12 cars lined up on a walled track each with a digital speed assigned to it to keep them competitive. If you can figure out how to make them all go let's say by pressing the space bar and then when you wish to pause the race you just hit the space bar again. Forget about controlling the individual car and watch the race as it devdelops naturally. (a minature care race... wow!) off of my two year experimentations I had developed all kinds of races. Track and field, horse racing, stock car, chariot, but my current favorite is pursuit futuristic backs. Any way get back to me let me know if any of this is possible.
jwhittley 2 apr, 2019 @ 15:34
I'm interested in this remote movement of these cars so I created off of the electric football vibrating game my own race track and raced a million races. The vibrating bases are pretty uncontollable unless you use guider pins then they can follow a walled track it's pretty cool but even cooler would be these cars running against each other on a walled track.

Hello, Markimus! I have to say, I've loved this script - have had it for around the year.

I've started using the script for a roleplay of mine, when I found out a bit of a bug. It seems putting the car (we had the script set to a ship at the time) in a perfect cardinal direction sends the thing careening at ludicrous speeds, despite the way the script has been edited. Let me know what you think, I have the script and a video of the bug waiting to send to you whenever. Thank you!
DayzMasterChip 23 okt, 2018 @ 12:25
Sorry, but could you tell me how to bind the function to the num pad?
Markimus  [skapare] 16 sep, 2018 @ 4:28
What improvements would you like to see @WarsWorth?
WarsWorth 16 sep, 2018 @ 0:23
Cool idea, poor execution, 2/5
spongee07 27 jan, 2018 @ 9:02
this way I can also load the dice up on the ship and play keep away
spongee07 27 jan, 2018 @ 9:01
Sweet, thanks man! I want to make one of the ships from the boardgame / mod "The Dutch East Indies" RC so I can make a full pirate armada tonight when my friends / fmily play table top tonight. They already get pretty salty when i have 3 or 4 cars going around the table ROFL!
Markimus  [skapare] 27 jan, 2018 @ 8:08
Of course you can! Just paste the script into a different model. If the vehicle moves sideways, you might need to swap the X and Z values in the script. The script should have the necessary comments to help you to change anything.
spongee07 26 jan, 2018 @ 23:39
Can i change the race car out for a differnt model?
Kulpas 30 nov, 2017 @ 13:56
nah fam it doesnt work at all for me
Kulpas 28 nov, 2017 @ 1:38
I'll look into it later. Assumed somethings wrong with the ground detection.
Markimus  [skapare] 27 nov, 2017 @ 11:24
Does it not already? I thought I updated it to work with other objects too. You may need to swap the forward and side values in the script if the object is moving sideways.
Kulpas 27 nov, 2017 @ 10:32
Can you make a script that works on every object?
Lorentius 23 nov, 2017 @ 18:11
This is amazing. I love when people make original stuff like this, it makes TTS so much more fun.

Keep it up!
Alphadelta1608 28 okt, 2017 @ 9:22
Thanks
Markimus  [skapare] 25 okt, 2017 @ 8:11
The mod has been updated with a friendlier script. You can now type in the description the owner's colour to override tint ownership.
TEMPEST 23 aug, 2017 @ 15:00
which variables can we modify to change car behavior?
Markimus  [skapare] 19 aug, 2017 @ 17:31
I'll hopefully be able to make the cars a little more user friendly soon. We'll see.
Alphadelta1608 19 aug, 2017 @ 16:26
how do i script this?
Markimus  [skapare] 17 aug, 2017 @ 3:57
I've been planning to pair this with that map though haven't got round to updating it yet. I also want to make an infinite bag which will tint the car the colour of the player drawing the car to make things easier.
AGoat 16 aug, 2017 @ 21:25
Pair this up with The Map That Everyone Owned and Initial D music, and you got yourself a good meme
:steamhappy:
Baryonyx 16 jun, 2017 @ 10:27
Ah, you have to pick the precise player colors... well that makes sense I guess. I thought it would somehow work by a certain color margin. I have not noticed these buttons in the color picker so far. :P
Now it works, but seems like the car likes to get stuck on certain areas, like at the beginning of the first curve.
Markimus  [skapare] 16 jun, 2017 @ 10:09
It's White by default. If you're not the White player when you load it up, you won't be able to control it. Right click on the object and tint it to your colour, or sit at the White position.
Baryonyx 16 jun, 2017 @ 9:56
The car does not respond to whatever keys I assign the script buttons to.
jay_rab 11 jun, 2017 @ 18:28
very cool, though for someone like me with a laptop I did have to rebind the scripting keys to be other buttons since I didnt have a keypad
