On an unrelated note, what happens if the dragons' species have both psionic and biological ascension paths due to use of another mod?
Random AI empires now also might use those portraits. I will see if I can make a game option to allow or disallow that, not sure if it will work though.
I lost the original files in a drive crash. But its possible that I can reconstruct the pictures. If yes I will look into making some changes so that the full dragons are visible and don't look so cut off on the left side on some screens.
No promises though as even when I can reconstruct the images, I would need to do some "dirty hacks"

thanks Ixal
will that mess with this?
I planned to update it for 2.2, but when I find the time I will look if I get it 2.1 compatible.
Thanks anyway to set it up in the past
It should be relatively easy to update is. What I have to spend more time on is that with the update you can psionically ascend non primary species in your empire and I have to test and decide if that should also trigger the picture change or not.
As a compensation I added more female color variations. There are some problems with the saturation on some portraits which I have to address eventually, but yeah....
The mod should work with and without Synthetic Dawn. Depending on the DLC the robotic version of the dragons are found either under Space Dragons or Machines. For that to work I sadly had to overwrite 00_species_classes
If that causes problems I will remove this separation again and put everything into Space Dragons (with the downsides of the robot version counting as biological unless I find a other way to do this without overwrite)
I was not able to test out Syntethic Dawn and its update properly yet because of my workload and having spend several week abroad.
I will try to check and make updates as needed.
