Nice map, well made and lit. I seem to remember this map being done for Portal some time age but I don't remember who did it. It was lots of fun, especially when remembering this map in the original game. I decided to try the "Nightmare" setting but when I saw you allowed the turrets to respawn I quit. No fair! Despite all that I must say you did a fine job on this project. Thanks for your efforts.

Wow dude. I beat it on Ultra Violence. Freakin' turrets!! Impressive, thanks. (and I also got booted out to the main menu when I finished it)

There was one turret out a window that I couldn't kill. Out where there was a pillar with a blue cube on it. Not sure if I was supposed to be able to get out there or not.

WTF? While I was playing I was just taken back to the main menu without warning. The last thign I saw was Optional Puzzle: find 3 gels.

Not too rough+Nightmare will have more than one turret in the exit room. Remember that Ultra Voilence has same number of turrets as NIGHTMARE.

And the group home's internet has been down for over a month, and the group home finally got a new router like 3 weeks ago. So now I'm able to use Steam again. It is true that the underground surfaces are almost all wood, however the appearance is such that the player can easily distinguish portalable surfaces from non-portalable surfaces. Portalable surfaces are almost always white.

In Portal 2, the underground Enrichment Spheres use wood for every portalable surface! So wood is (sometimes but not always) officially portalable.

In the original Doom game the green water is very very shallow (as in, only coming up to their toes). Monsters just walk across it.

Sorry if I was too generous with portalable surfaces in Wolfenstein.

I eventually figured it out by trying, although some things can come across as counterintuitive surprises. For example, here you can portal on wood, whereas in Portal 2 you can't portal onto wood (once I tried that, I got surprised I could place a portal on wood, and then expected almost everything to be portalable). The small spaces where you can't squeeze in a portal despite the surface being portalable kinda threw me off too. Semi-related: I was kinda surprised when things (the player and all NPCs) didn't fall into the green water.

In your Wolfenstein series, I thought I couldn't portal onto the walls since they had a rough-looking texture, and again, was surprised that I could portal onto the walls.

No, it's easy to figure out which surfaces are portalable. If it's made out of metal or glass or computer screens, it's not portalable. If it's black or dark brown and plausibly metalic, it's not portalable. The same texture is always the same.

Playing this map doesn't really feel like Portal to me. It's kinda tricky to figure out exactly which surfaces are portalable and which aren't. However I have a gripe much, much larger than that: WHY CAN'T I TURN OFF THE MUSIC WITHOUT TURNING OFF THE REST OF THE GAME SOUNDS??!!??

No it's an unintended solution, but one that I like. There are two main intended solutions to the death-trap room, one of which requires portals and one is much easier to discover with portals, but still possible without them. The intended solutions are much more portal-like.

Hi Carl, i built my first with your mod " carl.kenner 1960's".I try to connect refletive gel dropper to a weight switch but it dosen't work while preview testing. The door itself isn't red, but it has lots of red lights on each side. When you go back out of the red key area and back down the stairs, the red door is on the opposite side of the room, behind the building-thing in the middle. There are 3 doors in that room, two that take you to the red key, and one that's the red door.

Really? I think that's a mistake. You're supposed to run stylechanger.exe. Running vbsp_styles.exe might still work, but that wasn't what I intended. StyleChanger.exe is in your portal 2 folder.
