I appreciate your feedback. Based on your conclusion, that those trees don't give you any benefit, I considering making the trees free to plant.
In other games trees do have an impact (I'm thinking how I used to spam trees in Sim City to reduce pollution and make the sims happy with more green space). So of course it's appropriate for trees to come at some cost in those games.
As far as reality, sure, forestation costs money. So do a lot of other things which are not addressed at all or are abstracted in TrF.
Think of it this way...by carrying a cost (even if lower than it is now) without a corresonding benefit, your tree brush creates a disincentive to brush in trees. Ironic, no?
Until I loaded up a new game to test-drive the mod...and discovered that, unlike vanilla, trees now cost MONEY. And not insignificant amounts. I blew away 300K in just a few seconds, on a not-very-large patch of trees. Lol, guess it's back to the tree gun.
Now we need an upgraded terraforming tool ;)
