Its not luck. Long time ago this mod really did some things that conflicted with FU, But that was fixed long time ago, But as you see, 5 years is not enough for Sayter and FU team.
Dream-Shadows-Surge 4. aug. 2022 kl. 7:26
Hey! thanks for replying! Sayter has this on a list of banned mods and was trying to ask because they refuse to give support for mods on a list of "Incompatable" mods which evidently seem to make universe generation more difficult to find planets but even tho i never had this issue they kept telling me to remove it. I refuse to remove something as helpful as this. At least I know that its more a luck issue in their testing than a real issue if thats true.
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 4. aug. 2022 kl. 0:54
This mod does touch cocpit lua file, but it doesn't have capacity to alter systems. It only messes a bit with display layer of cockpit. If this mod was the culprit then removing it would cause "missing" planets to appear.
Dream-Shadows-Surge 3. aug. 2022 kl. 9:37
According to sayter your mod edits cockpit lua which causes certian frackin universe planets to be rarer than they are supposed to or just simply not spawn. Is this still editing that in a way that would present a problem for that mod or is it no longer doing that edit in a harmful way? I also heard from other mod users that playing with system edits that it causes problems for them too like arcana or maple32...?
Timtee [CVHN] 5. juni 2022 kl. 6:06
Shouldn't yeah, but it does for some reason. Altho it's still kinda hit or miss here and there sometimes as occasionally i'll get stuck encounters that can't despawn for one reason or another every so often. Luckily the encounters only start to appear after you go to that solar system, regardless of if you do it normally, or go to one of the prescanned planets. It's.... weird.
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 5. juni 2022 kl. 2:45
So you are saying that prescanning that I do causes encounters to spawn like crazy? Weird, that shouldn't happen.
Timtee [CVHN] 3. juni 2022 kl. 13:29
Hmmm... Well it seems to be so, especially given that, upon uninstalling it, and going to further new solar systems, the encounters aren't spawning as crazily. (tho some do still get stuck for some reason.) So part of most likely was a result of the prescanning of literally every solar system you click on in the navigation causing some form of error with the encounters. (tbh i don't even bother with the encounters tho, but they just lag my game, and if I could find a way to turn them off entirely across all the mods that have them, I'd like gladly do so because well... yeah.)
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 3. juni 2022 kl. 10:17
This is not the goal of this mod. This mod is simple universe searcher that can be used to find your perfect planet.
From what I remember I don't even read those encounters from api in the first case, so I'm certain that my mod is not the cause of your problem.
Timtee [CVHN] 2. juni 2022 kl. 11:20
I ask this now, despite how old of a mod this is, and as unlikely as it would be ultimately, Would it be feasible for this mod to cause non-despawning spacial encounters that should naturally despawn regardless? (If not... then it'd be great to find a mod that can just ensure that they despawn always no matter what.) because my god, I have a problem with them just infinite spawning and causing me lag.
Soblow 28. juni 2019 kl. 1:53
This mod is compatible with 1.4 (tested without FU)
PrelawGunmir 18. maj 2019 kl. 10:36
yos
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 9. maj 2019 kl. 10:37
Actually i dont know. You can test it, and if it wont work then i could fix it.
Jon 7. maj 2019 kl. 11:58
Is this mod compatible with the latest starbound update?
Mozetronick 29. nov. 2018 kl. 6:09
@Hiran Okay, you're right. Finding a missing second screenshot where a star is visible without a player’s ship would help to clarify the situation. It helps me in some way to focus the camera on a star, but at the same time it marks all the planets as visited. Because of this, it is unclear what kind of planet you missed in this system. Due to the fact that I added the planet to the bookmarks, the star was automatically marked as visited, but in fact in the original game this is simply forbidden. I would be glad if such unvisited systems did not give the right to add the planet to the bookmarks and turned on the "Remote View" mode or at least add, but without the ability to adjust the state of visiting the planets.
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 29. nov. 2018 kl. 1:10
@Mozetronick
Does More Planet Info allows you to zoom in to systems that you have never visited?
Mozetronick 28. nov. 2018 kl. 15:33
More Planet Info is better
Soblow 30. sep. 2018 kl. 22:12
Well, it simply adds the list of planets in a system when hovering it in the cockpit UI
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 30. sep. 2018 kl. 22:10
@arman You don't use it, it just works. It allows you to zoom in to systems that you didn't visit.
Delmar 30. sep. 2018 kl. 13:12
How do you use it
chronosphaenon 22. juni 2018 kl. 6:37
@Hiran, not being compatible with FU would beat the purpose of such featurel. Vanilla is simple enough to not need for searchable planets.
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 13. juni 2018 kl. 12:26
@chronosphaenon
That should be possible, but it probably would be incompatible with FU due to amount of changes that I would have to do in cockpit scripts. I would have to test it to be certain.
chronosphaenon 12. juni 2018 kl. 7:38
@Hiran, great mod, helps a lot.

As a suggestion, would you make a function (or a separate mod), which could search/filter nearby stars for a specific type of planet. Or, even better, for specific ores?
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 20. mar. 2018 kl. 12:29
@Jappards200
Theoretically yes. But from practical point of view, I'm not responsible for any bugs that will appear in my mod if you have "allow assets mismatch" checked.
Jappards200 18. mar. 2018 kl. 11:55
Is this client side?
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 9. mar. 2018 kl. 0:11
It works with FU.
@DalisMagnus It works by altering function that determines if player visited said star or not. It should be compatible with mostly anything, unless some mod alters the same things as I did and loads after mine, which is rather unlikely.
Mods that you're talking about probably alter celestial.config (or whatever is this file called) which has nothing to do with my mod, its totally different area.
DalisMagnus 8. mar. 2018 kl. 15:48
Will this work with Frackin Universe and any mods that change the universe? Like the one that changes star types and makes them make more sense
ScrambieBambie 8. mar. 2018 kl. 6:26
I know, i read it, i was asking for another one.

Anyone can confirm FU compatibility?
Jsaac4000 5. mar. 2018 kl. 14:00
cool
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 5. mar. 2018 kl. 12:43
Jsaac4000
Few months ago I worked together with MPI author to make our mods compatible out of the box, and as far as I know there is no problem.
Hazy Skies 5. mar. 2018 kl. 3:16
@Jsaac4000 I have both, plus frackin universe. All seem to work together perfectly fine.
Jsaac4000 5. mar. 2018 kl. 2:55
Is this Compatible with "More Planet Info" ?, if yes that would be nice.
contractually obligated beating 30. dec. 2017 kl. 10:16
oh ok :)
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 30. dec. 2017 kl. 9:48
No, it won't. Sayter just didn't update his mod's description. This mod works perfectly fine with FU.
Just tell FU authors to update description.
contractually obligated beating 30. dec. 2017 kl. 3:33
sadly i cant play with dis cuz frackin universe ;(
MasterOfBacon 20. dec. 2017 kl. 8:34
okie thanks :D
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 19. dec. 2017 kl. 23:09
@MasterOfBacon Optimization is never a stupid question.
It shouldnt. Game does cockpit calculations anyway. I just replaced functions that are used by default.
MasterOfBacon 19. dec. 2017 kl. 18:35
will this make the game laggyer ? sorry if that sounds stupid
Hazy Skies 16. sep. 2017 kl. 4:36
Sure thing, just thought I'd let you know ^-^
Looking forward to when it's done and such, whenever it is you have time to.

I would have to invest a bit of time in this, but i'm occupied with my DigitalStorage mod rewrite. I can promise you though that I will fix this one once DigitalStorage is done
Hazy Skies 15. sep. 2017 kl. 11:09
Oh, and another change with the navigation is that if you hover over a star instead of clicking it, it'll show the star's name and such.
Hazy Skies 15. sep. 2017 kl. 11:07
So perhaps FU must've kept true to the fuel consumption of vanilla and set a formula based on distance. Not sure why this would've effected the function of this mod though, but as you said earlier in response to a question asking whether or not it'll still work with FU and yoy replying "It should, unless FU changed something.", in which case it might very well be the case.

So if anything it's some notification of such change which effects your mod, so yeah.
Hazy Skies 15. sep. 2017 kl. 11:02
Here's the change/update I was talking about https://i.imgur.com/SNswzwB.png

As for the reason of being problematic, the comments below don't really explain why o-O
Doesn't really explain what's going on in the terms of it though, like if development is going to be slow, whether it's halted, or something else.
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 15. sep. 2017 kl. 10:17
AURAequine
By default FTL is capped at 100 fuel, and with crew at 50. FU reverses that.
This mod needs update, but its problematic. Read few last comments if you want to know why.
Hazy Skies 15. sep. 2017 kl. 8:41
I noticed after some recent update, the functionality of this mod seems to have been negated.

On a positive note though, at least the fuel consumption has been fixed and is actually realistic instead of being stuck on 50 regardless of distance.

@Hiran
no i dont want you to upload anything you arent ready to put out yet, i will wait for whenever you have time to work on it and upload it when you feel like its at a good point

I can update this mod with dev version, but the game will show you that you visited every place in the universe. Are you interested in it?
Grammy Casserole 12. sep. 2017 kl. 10:53
@Hiran no problem then, just wanted to ask about it :)
Hiran  [ophavsmand] 12. sep. 2017 kl. 10:48

I have updated dev version of it, but it... lies when it comes to planets you visited, and there is no easy workaround, at least i dont know of any. Second thing, I'm heavily occuped with my DigitalStorage rewrite.
