Hello friend. For Gaming maps - portal gum on / off concept you need to look at the map "PRACTICE", it's tutorial. There is also a little map to verifying the concept. OK?
And to the button, yes there is a difference. The yellow one can be a cube for permanent holding and a portal gun.

A wonderful and challenging map - took a while to figure out what to do. Thanks for creating again. - I still don't like pushing that cube around - too twitchy to aim well.

I fixed the map and tried it.
Possible trapping: If you respawn the cube you put in the glass cage, above the exit,
AFTER you enable the lightbridge, you will have to resart since there is no way to turn the
lightbridge off to get another unstable cube.
