I miss your auto space miner very much, so I tried to refit the Atmo miner for space. However, it does not seem to function. Every block is there, named correctly, set correctly, etc. Any chance you will bring back the GPS guided mining drone space version? RDAV's auto miner script also does not work properly - very very glitchy and does not really function. No working autominer scripts on workshop for now :( Pennywise script has always been the best one, since beginning of time. I miss this ship.

I figured it out on creative anyway. I locked the connector and docked before pressing 5. When I rebooted the ship and pressed 5 while soft connected it worked. Still having problems with it on private server. Had to build a small block and move the sensor ahead 1 block, it wont build otherwise. I have seen it work properly, I just have to debug what I'm doing wrong with the server. Update, Had admin paste it into the server, works fine until it tries to find home. Flys off in some random direction at full speed.

Should keep going. See what status says on the left screen when it stops.

Does it stop/stay connected or does it disconnect and just hang/drift near connector?

Making these from projection is tough- some blocks forget their settings (timers, sensors, control seats, others) when built in the wrong order.

@wearin, it could be charging the batteries, maybe put Uranium in the reactors and see if that keeps it going longer.

Loaded it on my creative and it is working. I'm guessing I missed a part when building it from the projector. When it returns home and offloads though, it stops. Is it supposed to resume mining at its last spot? It had only dug 2 tunnels.

You were correct. I built the sensor, named it properly, configured it proper. Still having problems. Caught Exception during execution of a script: Object Reference not set to an instance of an object.

If you built from projection, probably missing the front sensor. You will have to place it manually, name it, and set it to detect asteroid only, 50M in front and 5M every other direction if memory serves (but check in creative to be sure on settings)

I set ownership of everything to myself. As soon as I recompile the PB both gyros go into forced mode and the ship starts spinning around on a random axis. Thinking maybe I missed something in the instructions . . digging through it again. I ground down the cockpit, timer, and PB to hack and rebuilt the program block, then timer, then cockpit. I'll tinker with it a bit more before giving up. Too many people have it working, probably something simple I'm missing.

Does this still work? Having problems with it. The displays never update and the nav PB shows "Caught an exception during execution" or something like that.

Still having problems with number 4 but its O.K. Now i know this workaround. It should be in description! :)

also had problem that i couldn't build(target with welder, hand or welder-ship) sensor and front camera and had to put them aside just keeping old names and configs...seems to work

it would be also cool to describe what which button do...
another cool idea would be to make beacon with changing status in it

grind the cockpit, then grind the prog block and timer block nat front, rebuild them both enitrely (Left and right of drills at front) and then rebuild cockpit after. PROG BLOCK MUST BE BUILD BEFORE TIMER.

Can you please make configuration guide pls? I just made it in survival, but in cockpit there is no binds and I have no clue what arguments should I use

Should work fine. You will need to make sure ownership is set, recompile the program block, and possibly fix the timer after welding from a projection. Also, each drone must have a unique name and all blocks renamed if your trying to run more than one.

I have several running on a public Mp survival server. Steam msg me if you run into trouble

Also on a server, the miner cannot find home, set it's connector, or start mining. It worked in creative though

I just put one small container without any tim commands and then tim just pulls from it as normal

Yea the base1 stopped working for me- maybe due to TIM? But the sorters I describe below worked as a workaround.

if you name a cargo container basecargo 1 it will automatically drop it in there, but on mine at the moment the ore isn't travelling from the drills to the cargo in order to be either ejected or unloaded at base, conveyors broken

I set my sorter to pull all, with stone whitelisted; and had two sorters on station it docks to. One to pull all ore and one whitelisted to allow uranium ingot (to refuel drone reactors).

thanks for the tips guys, im going to have a fiddle with the sorters as ive noticed when its locked on to the station connector i cant move the cargo manually. all i can do to remove the ore is go to each drill and lift the ore out into my inventory as if you do it from the connector it says all the containers arent linked, i also noticed the conveyor attached to the connector on the back has red lights instead of green, like they are on the ship but not connected.. points me to thinking its the game clanging more than normal

Legolaz, I have taken to using two sorters at the docking point - One set to suck ore out and one set to ALLOW (but not drain all) uranium ingots into the miner. Both hooked to a common connector.

legotaz Strange.. It should not be the script problem. I need to mess with drills and container settings to find out what's the problem.. By the way, if you have not just paste this mining bot in creative game, but welded it from blueprint in survival, there can be uncomplete conveyors. This can cause the problem.

hey pennywise i have an odd bug where the ship doesnt move the cargo from the drills to its internal cargo containers, so when it connects to a station it never dissconnects as it allways has cargo on board. is there a way to fix this?

replace atmo thrusters with ion but keep names the same. should work fine.

the octopus was designed for planets and moons with atmosphere. curious to see what to do here
